So, today, this kid in my Government class tried telling me that the only good games on PC were ones like "Diablo" and "World of Warcraft" and that consoles were better for everything else   I lel'd

£12.50 for that, wow. Doesn't look like it has much in the way of expansion, though.

 

Well, all the other ones I found are 100+ dollars.

 

The RISC was famous for expansion and versatility, you could add a whole lot to it. There's even a second CPU slot where you can add another PC processor to run IBM software, it'll give it shared access with the main CPU. Pretty neat for something made in 1994.

People who see the shit the industry is pulling and accept it because "Oh, they'll fix it later." No, this behavior tells them that this shit is good and they should keep up with it when no, it's not.

 

The industry is going to cause itself to crash again. And this time I'm not so sure if the PC will get out lucky again (it did in the original North American video game crash of 1983, before the NES' release PC gaming was starting to pick up in console gaming's wake), and maybe it'll affect much more than just the North American market.

Some other good ones are SWBF2 and Psychonauts

The industry is going to cause itself to crash again. And this time I'm not so sure if the PC will get out lucky again (it did in the original North American video game crash of 1983, before the NES' release PC gaming was starting to pick up in console gaming's wake), and maybe it'll affect much more than just the North American market.

What I want is Nintendo and Indies to win, and have Kickstarter be the way new games are made.

The problem with indies is that their reputation is being harmed too by all these shitty "joke" simulators, "Nintendo hard" nostalgiafests and terrible games like Air Control, Gone Home and Earth: Year 2066 getting all the media attention over games that actually deserve it, like Kerbal Space Program, Cities: Skylines and The Stanley Parable.

 

 

Mmm, there's nothing quite like a nice, fresh-opened can of cynicism. How delicious!

We wouldn't have to be if the industry wasn't like this. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when it's easier to be cynical and jaded towards new releases than excited for them.

Because of terrible indie games getting media attention over ones that actually deserve it, ones that show off what the PC is capable of. Also the general misconception that it's "too expensive".

Which is funny, because videos like show that's far from the case anymore:

 

 

Two really cheap builds (one Pentium and one i3 build, both with 750ti GPUs) that are both well under $500 ($300 in the case of the cheaper one) standing toe-to-toe with the PS4

I don't disagree. A lot of games do suck, so I'll give you that.

 

But... no matter how hard I try, I just can't see it killing the whole industry. That's like saying GM going bankrupt means no one uses cars anymore.

For me it's one of those games with many flaws that would ruin the experience, but it's just so good with everything else that it overshadows the awful. But I'd never say it's a perfect game. Dark Forces, however...

My favorite PC game series is Rollercoaster Tycoon. I remember pouring so many hours into them. I was really fun building and managing my own theme parks. Anyone love Rollercoaster Tycoon?

 

Oh is this just gaming related or can it also be about video editing because I use my PC for making mostly YouTube Poops as well.
