Best Diablo 3 Class for DPS and General Fun?

I just started playing Diablo 3, I really enjoyed my time on the trial and capped all classes to trial cap 13 (Except Crusader since that's Reaper of Souls content.) I proceeded to buy it and RoS and levelled my Demon Hunter to 70, I enjoyed DH while I levelled but now it seems weak and even with full Legendary/Set I struggle on Torment 2/3.

 

Now, I understand I have to work to get a decent Set bonus and such but, are there any classes that are strong regardless of gear? I've levelled my wizard to 50 and its be really strong but, I can feel the strength waning the higher I get. 

 

I just dislike RNG, which is why I don't raid in WoW.

I'm using the monk and so far it kicked major flank even with random legendaries.

Used to do the sweeping wind + explonding palm + lashing tail kick combo for major AoE. However I needed to make it more of a tank because I would get instagibbed on t2 and IT STILL KICKED PLOT, only he's ALSO IMMORTAL.

The mage is also able to deal like a TON of damage, but he's pretty much made of cardboard (same for the DH)

Thanks, I've levelled my monk a little and I've enjoyed her so fare, I especially like Wave of Light the giant bell, It seems to have a wider AoE that it initially gives off and Seven Sided Strike is strong too especially if use on single target. 

I enjoyed Crusader too, big, tanky and lots of AoE just the way I like it, but when I got to 60 the damage dropped ridiculously, I was hitting like a wet noodle.

If you want DAMAGE, you can't go wrong with Barbarians.
