@, I think I get what you're talking about.... like a magical veil of light... the closest real thing to it would be the aurora borealis (the northern lights). Something like that?

 

@@Soldier Surplus, Every time I see the first one I did for you, Archean Gene, it makes me smile and cringe... It was one of the first and I had no idea what I was doing so it brings back warm memories, but at the same time I've improved so much. I might re-draw him. No promises or anything right now, but..... :wat:  I might have to make time to do it.

@@VulpineTaco, I knoooowwwwww.... My friend bought me WoD and everything, but my computer really can't handle it. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. When I get a new computer I won't have any excuses anymore.

I have a project i'm working on at the moment, so i can't exactly hang around. Just one question, if i may: How is that horn on you supposed to be like that? they're usually diagonal.

@, Lmao I was waiting for someone to ask that. It's a magical pompadour.

so how does that work? like...is the hair magic which allows the horn to work at a different angle? or does the horn allow itself to do so? was it just a birth thing? I must know these things!!! (In all honesty though, I think the design is awesomely unusual! Which is a good thing. ;) )

@@BrilliantVenture, I really don't have a backstory for him. I made him as a joke because I really like pompadours. Grease Lightning is actually a remake of another pony I made a while back. I've never RPed with my OCs... >_>;; Now I feel like a failure lol.

seriously? because that has so much potential! Especially since not many people would make an OC with a disability/disfiguration...they're more concerned about looking "cool" etc. But I prefer character over cool (even though yours is technically both) but for real, you should do something with him!

I have noticed what you said about people more interested in a "cool looking" character. I've done enough free art to notice. As an artist, I enjoy it. As a writer, it seems like one of those dystopian novels I've been reading where everyone is perfect. I guess that's why I made Grease Lightning an oddball and Lucky normal. I'm actually drawing Lucky (which is, I guess what you'd call my "ponysona"?) and her/my daughter. Lucky is an earth pony and her daughter is a pegasus.

I have noticed what you said about people more interested in a "cool looking" character. I've done enough free art to notice. As an artist, I enjoy it. As a writer, it seems like one of those dystopian novels I've been reading where everyone is perfect. I guess that's why I made Grease Lightning an oddball and Lucky normal. I'm actually drawing Lucky (which is, I guess what you'd call my "ponysona"?) and her/my daughter. Lucky is an earth pony and her daughter is a pegasus.

I see! yeah, brilliant venture is my ponysona as well,  I didn't even pick the name, I used a pony name generator and was like, "Okay...no matter what it is, whatever comes up, I'm using it for my pony-music projects" and surprisingly enough brilliant venture came up first, and I was like "sweeeeet!"...My wife's came up as "honey sprinkles" so there's an OC for her too, but it's more of a personal one.

 

(And by the way, I love the Lucky Charms OC....the design/cutiemark/colouring is perfect!)

My boyfriend has never seen MLP. I'm totally gonna get him hooked. If he's too manly for it then I'm gonna get his daughter hooked. He WILL watch MLP lol.

 

I don't really have a cool story for the creation of Lucky. I'm a country girl at heart, and Applejack is my favorite pony. I like drawing braids. I went with earth tones because it seemed to fit an earth country pony. I wanted to give her a name based off her lucky horseshoes cutiemark, but the only thing I liked was Lucky Charms. I like the cereal. She's just supposed to be me.

oh yeah, my wife is awesome! been married almost 4 years now, she helped get me into the show actually, and she draws too! No kids atm, possibly won't happen...but the future is vast and far, so who knows?

Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you... I listened to your music. Really good stuff! I love the classic video game and techno feel. I'm pretty sure in the first one I heard Mario's one-up sound.

 

Sorry if I'm being slow to reply. I'm getting tired and I'm trying to figure out the best way to color this.
