And I could honestly see why people wouldn't be a fan of his voice, although there is nothing wrong with his voice in their WtF album.

I feel the same way, I actually found his vocals to be more tolerable in that album than any other ones by A7X.

And probably another reason why I dislike Mr Shadow's vocals is because they remind me of an emotionless version of Neurosis' vocals.

I'm listening to this album right now, so I might as well post a couple songs from it. This is probably my 2nd favorite album by Atreyu.

Atreyu are pretty good, they were one of the first Metalcore bands that I got into, the only thing about them is that recently they haven't been putting out too much stuff that I enjoyed. Anyways you like Killswitch Engage? They seem like a band that you'd like.

Atreyu's last two albums were really not that great.

I've listened to a little bit of Killswitch Engage, I might buy one of their albums in the future.

This song's pretty good:

I found his vocals on their first album some what tolerable. Someone posted a song and I listened to part of it.

Which reminds me, I have a friend who thought Acid Bath was screamo. I was like "WTF? They're sludge metal". I showed him one of their songs, the one bellow to be exact.

Yeah the last two albums by them weren't that great at all, and I think that you'd probably enjoy the title-track off of The End of Heartache

I can't really recommend any of their albums since I'm not a huge fan of them, though I do hear about The End of Heartache the most out of all their albums.

My friend called Lamb of God death metal and screamo, and I facepalmed so fucking hard...

That was just ridiculous...I was like "Don't ever call them screamo ever again -__- "

Ya know, I hate it when people use the words "death metal and "scremo" in the same sentance. One is metal, the other is punk, they're is a HUGE difference. I also hate it when people don't know what the difference between a "growl" and "scream" is.

Yeah, my friend is one of those people that thinks anything with screaming is automatically called screamo. That annoys me so much...

Screamo and metal are completely different genres of music...

I showed my friend a Cannibal Corpse song once and now he thinks I have necrophilia. He also thinks it's "gay" that I like a song called "Fucked with a Knife". And he likes MLP too, what an asshole. dry.png

You and me both, man. The latter part is something I hear every day. When pretty much every student in my school just hear some light growling they go all like "OMFG I HATE SCREAMO TURN THIS SHIT OFF!!!11!!!"

I don't hate rap, they're a few rap songs that I do like. But rap fans are by far the biggest assholes of the music world. I try to get along with them, but then they thowing shit at me.

So one day I was playing some Burzum and this kid says "It sounds like he's choking on a dick". I asked him if he liked Public Enemy but he backed down and said something about 2pac being the greatest out there. On another day I was playing some Opeth and then my friend changes it to Eminem.

That can't be any closer to the truth. I hate rappers with a passion, not because of the music they like, but because they are freking dicks like you mentioned. Their argument to why something like rock sucks is so vague and unconstructive. While they bitch about how screaming and growling is pointless, they listen to songs with mindless lyrics about pimping, being a gangster and racism.

I don't hate rap either, I'm actually a fan of Ice Cube and several swedish rappers like Ison&Fille and Ken Ring.

IKR, they think it's weird that I like songs about people getting murdered but to them songs about getting women and going to clubs is considered acceptable. To to make things worse, I'm always outnumbered.

On the rap discussion the only rap band that I like is Death Grips, due to their influence with Industrial music. But honestly the lyrics in a Death Grips song aren't really all that great, so yeah the rap that I listen to has no more meaning than a grindcore album does.

Oh come on now, Napalm Death had written songs about politics before. As for rap being meaningless, the only rap song I can think of that has any meaningful lyrics would be Dear Mama by 2pac. Not only that, it also lack any curse words too.

Well I guess Grindcore can be more meaningful, I've read the lyrics book to the Pig Destroyer album and it had really dark lyrics though they did have meaning to them, which really proves one thing that I believe about music, is that lyrical content depends on the band writing the lyrics rather than the genre itself, unless it's Christian music, then yeah it's pretty self explanatory.

Yeah, I don't like Christian music, for obvious reasons. I've also seen fans of Christian music on the internet say things like "Christian music promotes positive things", they also throw the term "secular music" out there a lot.

Posting this again because it's one of my favorite songs ever:

I wanna get a Rush album, probably gonna get the one with the giant owl on it, because owls are cool, unless that one is a terrible album, if so then I'll probably get a different one.

Rise Against

I never really liked Rise Against. I heard one of their songs once, I thought it was decent. I forgot what it was called though.

I'm going to post some Black Flag.

That song was actually pretty cool, and I thank you for actually telling me the real name of that album "Fly By Night" makes more sense now, also I've heard some stuff from Hemispheres, actually the first song I heard was one from that album when my uncle introduced me to Rush. I forget what song it was, but it was a pretty good
