movies/tv Disney Channel or Disney XD?

Disney has 2 main networks for its content. There's the Disney Channel, and there's Disney XD. Disney Channel consists of tween sitcoms that are supposedly family shows, and they skew a more female demographic. Meanwhile, shows on Disney XD are geared more towards males, and has a bit edgier programming. 

 

Of these 2, which do you think is a more worthwhile network? I personaly have to say Disney XD. Mainly because it has one thing Disney Channel lacks, variety. While Disney XD has its own tween comedies aimed at a male audience, it also hosts its own original animated shows, aquired Canadian shows, Marvel & Star Wars Cartoons, and also gives Wander Over Yander and Gravity Falls a new home. Plus, DXD even had the balls at one point to air Pirates of the Carabian with a TV-14 rating, something squeaky clean Disney Channel would never do. 

 

Meanwhile, Disney Channel just feels like its nothing but tween sitcoms. Even Phineas & Ferb, their most popular cartoon, hardly airs. Its pretty obvious Disney Channel has no interest in animation because that apparently isn't what sells music albums to bratty preteen girls. At least DXD doesn't need to turn their stars into rappers or singers. While Disney XD isn't perfect, I would still rather watch it, over Disney Channel any day.

I would say Disney XD for now. Disney Channel used to be better in the past IMO.

Disney XD is better because Disney Channel ran out of good shows. I'm still waiting for them to bring back That's So Raven.

I've been watching Disney Channel since I was 7.. yup. I don't see anything wrong with Disney Channel, but it's been going downhill these past few years. Nothing is interesting anymore. I used to be excited for new episodes on the channel, but now it's just.. meh.

 

Meanwhile, Disney XD has a more shows that I enjoy, plus Gravity Falls now airs on Disney XD. I understand that DXD was targeted at a male audience, so I don't know why I enjoy it more than Disney Channel.

Disney XD because it has all the cartoons like Phineas & Ferb, Gravity Falls, Wander over Yonder, and Doraemon. Disney Channel has too many live action shows i'm not into.

Definitely I'd say XD is better because of their better programming variety, especially with regard to cartoons, as OP said. Unfortunately, XD does not have the distribution Channel has.

 

XD also has the advantage of airing third-party content, which Channel sorely lacks, but I think the only thing dragging both XD and Channel down is their narrow demographic focus. Disney should just get rid of the "one channel for boys, one channel for girls" idea and start shaking it up (huehuereference ). It's not really fair, especially under this marketing regime, that XD gets the better content while Channel gets the better channel space.

TBH honest, Disney Channel just isn't interesting anymore. Unlike Nickelodeon where they're just a trainwreck you can't stop watching, Disney Channel is just bland and boring. Their sitcoms aren't complete trash (they're at least better than Nick's garbage) but they all just feel the same. Not to mention their complete disregard for animation as evidenced by all their cartoons being moved to XD.

Based on the commercials I've seen I would have to say XD. Regular Disney Channel has too many bad live action shows for my taste.

I know that Disney Channel has SERIOUSLY gone downhill over the past few years. I don't even have cable but if I ever got it I still wouldn't watch that channel. It's just not the same as it used to be. It doesn't feel like Disney anymore and the shows that air just aren't that interesting to me.

 

XD on the other hand. I don't know too much about the shows there but as long as Gravity Falls stays there I'm picking that channel over the other anyday of the week

I'll say XD is better. The only show I watch is Gravity Falls though. And I'll watch Wander over Yonder sometimes.

XD, the regular Disney Channel makes a complete and total mockery of the Disney name but back in the 90's it was actually a respectable network. XD has a few bleh shows but it at the very least has some good stuff too like all the marvel animated shows it has and Star Wars Rebels is decent so far and has some potential.

I could watch their samey tween sitcoms all day, but I watched Wonder Over Yonder on XD once and it was so terrible I almost wrote them a letter explaining how bad it was and why they shouldn't show it anymore; I don't know who wrote that show, but I'm surprised they haven't hid from the world in shame yet. Honestly, I think XD is going to bomb horribly when everyone realizes cartoons aren't entertaining anymore.

 

And don't get me started on Gravity Falls, blegh.
