Neutral 1,185 December 15, 2014 Share December 15, 2014 Well from my experience we all either sound like chavs or the queen. We eat scones every day, drink tea and are completely useless without the Americans. Plus we don't look after our teeth. 4 Credit to Rainbowdash72 for sig credit to Ivory for the amazing avatar credit to couleur for the wallpaper if your in hell keep going
~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 I think British people honestly sound great. Those are stereotypes xD we all have them. America has the stereotype of ALL being obese or "idiotic". Well, there are a lot of "idiotic" Americans.. but..yeah I really want to visit Britain. I made tons of British friends on Instagram

The tea and scones, high society thing is definitely a stereotype, but more in a joking way, I don't think many people really believe that. Never heard of not taking care of your teeth. Hidey 2,836 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 I think the British people are among (if not the most) creative, talented, influential, important, brave, and determined people on the planet. I take this view from history, Britain and her people have had a profound impact on the world culturally, historically, etc. British laws and the English language have spread far and wide, Britain created and changed nations across the globe. The British people were the first to usher in the industrial revolution and countless innovations in almost every field. The British stood almost alone against the First French Empire in the Napoleonic wars and against the Nazis in WWII, and played a crucial or leading role in causing the downfall of both. A large number of the greatest musicians/bands in rock and popular music have come from Britain. I could go on, but in short, I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for Brits. Even though I'm looking at it from a historical prospective, I think they have much to be proud of. I myself never met one I didn't like, they've been nice to me. 5 this is my signature
ThatOneComrade 1,091 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 I think most British people are decent people, though I can't help but dislike the country anyway. I don't know if it's because all I see relating to Britain in the States are shows or boy bands or annoying accents, but I just really don't like Britain. British people are alright though. 1 href="/monthly_02_2014/post-8308-0-69609200-1393191794.png">
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,302 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Facts Opinions incoming: Monty Python is the greatest comedy troupe of all time. British accents are neat; capable of sounding both sophisticated and purposely hilarious. Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time, Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest vocalists of all time, and I used to be big into Ozzy Osbourne. Leaning off-topic: Twinings Earl Grey tea is excellent. xD H.P. Lovecraft (an American and my favorite author) was a self-proclaimed anglophile. Comedy and music; British people seem to do it quite well. OH, and my favorite book book is "Lord of the Flies" by English author William Golding. 2 "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. Invincible 2,091 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Some of my closest friends are British. If they're any indication, i'd say British people seem oddly liberal, politically speaking. And tea consumption is probably a national sport. 2 My OCs for Roleplay purposes: o Lit Fuse (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lit-fuse-r6608) o Dust Devil (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/dust-devil-r7357)

SparklingSquirrels 21,345 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 (edited) I'm going to say the same thing that I always say on these types of threads: it's not so much the country that an individual is from, but rather the individual themself that gives me reason to judge them a certain way. Most of my experiences with Brits have been pretty good though! I also think the UK is a neat country and I'd like to visit there someday Edited December 16, 2014 by JingleSwirls 2 ֍֎֍֎
ReverseFaller 2,483 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 (edited) The United Kingdom is a pretty impressive nation. They have a ton of achievement's under their belt, and the modern world would be a very different place had the UK never existed. Even to this day, they're still relevant with their popular pop tunes and what not. Off-Topic: My biological father, who was simply the sperm donor my parent's picked off of a list happened to be British. This would mean I have a decent amount of British blood flowing through my veins. This may explain why I enjoy colonizing foreign lands in Civilization V so much. Toaster Bot 183 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Totally actual legit not sarcastic and joking 100% seriously absolutely no joke totes legit m8 brit facts (actually I lied that whole chunk is jokes) Tip tap tally ho harry potter and cricket, also heathen football and tea. It is a well known fact that British blood must contain at least 12% tea, otherwise they are executed by the Queen personally. Also they have a queen. They're probably communists by that standard. The British had a profound impact on the world, mostly through declaring that they had a profound impact and then killing people who objected until they were dead and then taking all their stuff. They invented tea but an errant experiment in time travel sent the discovery to the Chinese. Their favorite swear is America's least favorite swear. The British are required by International Law as stated in Section 3.A of the Geneva Convention to always wear tophats and monocles. They invented class so hard that they retroactively uninvented any class that had been invented before they invented it. Doctor Who was invented by the concept of Britain itself and is secretly the ruler of Britain for all eternity. The British do not have teeth, only parasitic teeth-like creatures that crawl in their gums where their teeth once were because they had bad dental hygiene. I can't think of any more jabs at the British. Actual stuff: Britain is a country. Countries are composed of individuals who contain their own unique culture yet cannot be lumped into one group. WHY COULDN'T WE BE FRENCH?! ;_; GOD DAMN IT. ____________ In all seriousness though, I've had a few British friends and I can say from them that British people are very polite. They also seem to talk very sophisticated. (Probably not all British people, but my friends do ;p ). Also, you guys are good at cricket. DormantAccount 308 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Good folks. I'm not a fan of a modern democracy with such an archaic notion as a monarch (even one so weak as theirs), but that's my hang up. Comedy is great in both countries, though I will say that Stephen Fry is a treasure. I have heard that the food is a little lacking. Overall, a lovely people, different but still great friends.
Jonny Music 3,415 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 (edited) Brits are a cool bunch. I like their accents especially. The media part of Britain is what I like most. I like the James Bond franchise (the films especially (MGM's films to be specific)), the Doctor Who series (not a Whovian, though it would be cool) and the musicians from Britain are also great with some notable ones like David Bowie, The Beatles, Wham!, Adele, Queen, all of them are great to their own merits. I also want to visit the UK sometime in the future. Silver Letter 1,832 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 I don't know much about the British. They have lots of old castles and ruins like the ancient Romans left behind in Italy. Their language is functional. They have contributed good cultural things such as literature and done a lot of bad things in this world like building a world wide imperial system thanks mostly to limes interestingly enough. They're the only country that tried to conquer the US. My overall opinion on their cultural system and nation is mostly neutral, again since I don't know much about them. I don't know any of them personally but I'm sure I could make friends with some. 2 Silver Letter!!! Virgil 685 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Well given that most of my favorite bands, writers, Actors and so on are Brits ( or Ex-Pat Brits ); and I'm fairly certain due to various circumstances in my childhood, the actor Rex Harrison was imprinted upon my childhood mind as the standard of Masculinity... I have a great deal of respect for the British... I know leave with this: 1 I know there's a place you walkedWhere love falls from the treesMy heart is like a broken cupI only feel right on my knees.I spit out like a sewer holeYet still receive your kissHow can I measure up to anyone nowAfter such a love as this? sweetolebob18 728 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 (edited) Most of us Yanks have never been to England & rely on Britcoms on PBS & Hell's Kitchen for their info. This is, perhaps, not as accurate as you might think. Some Surprising Facts About England. (Anybody knows better, please correct) 1) Most of Yanks think you guys don't like spicy foods. Actually, w curry & such average Brit likes their food spicier than us. 2) Call us all Yanks. There are about 15 or so states in USA where if Chuck Norris went into the wrong bar & called somebody a "Yank", he'd have a rough time getting out w his teeth 3) Somebody once said "Minor differences are important. Heaven has French cooking, German engineers, & English police. Hell has French engineers, German police, & English cooking" 4) The American revolution wasn't over "taxation without representation". That was just the excuse. It was really because they would rather die than have to watch Cricket. US & Canada the only 2 ex colonies that don't play that game. Also, when we mention Baseball, some of you cop an attitude & talk about Rounders 5) Monty Python 1st made it over here in the 70s. It was a perfect metaphor for that decade because the group broke up before they made it big. Everybody here thinks all English accents are so posh. We can't tell which ones you guys think are good from the ones that aren't Also, if told "Name 1 active British politician, including current Prime Minister, or die", the average Yank would need a grave.
