Most Luna fanboys come out at night, remember?  Night officially started in Eastern America just a couple minutes ago, so we should see an influx of votes anytime soon.  Trust me, I'm a philosopher.  And a doctor, but mostly a philosopher.  Oh, and a critic.

One of the thing I think makes Rarity attractive is the sheer amount of different styles she possesses 

 

For instance, there's her cherished Beatnik Rarity look:

 

 

Or her famous wet-mane look, the look that started a series of copycat artworks from the fandom

 

 

Crystal Rarity, with the glistening mane of a greek goddess:

 

Camping Rarity, who made nature extremely fashionable:

 

 

Or something more modern, like the Sergeant Rarity from Testing, Testing 123

 

The point is, she's got such a vast array of styles and looks, and the sheer uniqueness offers such a pallette cleanser from her already gorgeous design.

 

Heck, ask any artist in the fandom - Rarity is the toughest of the Mane 6 to draw. The artists and character designers of the show put so much painstaking effort into her design to make her shine like the bright, beautiful star she is To prove that you didn't have to be mean to be beautiful, and she really is just that

Even Lauren Faust herself stated that she was most proud of Rarity as a character. The Hasbro Execs hated Rarity - they wanted the girly girly fashion one to be her. They didn't want her to be the trendsetter who doesn't spend money shopping, but makes money by producing what people shop for. She is an artist - but also self-sufficient and strong.

 

Faust made Rarity in absolute purity, mind you. Rarity has a very niche appeal - she was designed to be the prim, proper, most girly one who loves fashion and art and is a bit of a hopeless romantic. She was designed to be the stereotype, and then break it. She breaks it by being intelligent and being giving and caring about those around her. She breaks it by relying on herself instead of others. She breaks it by not being weak, but being a strong, independent mare who don't need no man

 

She was meant to reach out to the girlier ones of the little girls. The ones who like to play dressup with their dolls and other stereotypes. She was mean to reach out to them with a different message, however - that just because you're a lady doesn't mean you can't handle yourself in a sticky situation. Such defines Rarity's character, and time and time again she's proved to the niche audience she was designed to have that you can be who you are without conforming to society's expectations, and that is one of the many reasons I love her.

 

Rarity is beautiful. Whether it be who she is as a pony, how she looks as a pony, or the values her character represents, I gotta give her the full hand in any type of beauty fathomable

So far, proving my personal theory, Princess Luna potentially has the 2nd biggest horde of fans and admirers.

I dunno...the way they ever so gracefully hovered through the breezes in the Cloudsdale skylines were just enamoring to me She didn't fly fast, she flew elegantly

 

Furthermore, those wings are reminiscent of one of her many acts of beauty - remember how she got them? She was so worried about RD's anxiety about flying in that tourny that she risked it all just to get those wings for her I mean, they're so much more beautiful than just on the outside
