gaming MLP in the Sims 4? It's really addicting...

So I managed to pirate the Sims 4 and tested it out and... I got pretty hooked to it. I created Sims based on MLP characters with their original (pony) forms and their human counterparts (Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks). From the Mane 6 to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I'm planning to do all of Ponyville and the side ponies like Vinyl and Tavi. I had fun making their houses and customising them. I also had "myself" interacting and socializing with them ponies (I also have "myself" in their universe)... It's very enjoyable and funny thinking that your are talking with MLP characters eh?

Here are some screens:

I'm also planning to upload some playthroughs to my YouTube account. So what do ya think fellow bronies?

This video also inspired me to do this:

PS: This game has really hooked and addicted me. I can't even finish editing my next ERBOP/ERCOH battle. So expect the next battle to be delayed.

MLP. Home sweet home. I forgot how nice the residents of Equestria could be. Anyone seen The Martian?

I'm sorry. I just never would've forgiven myself if I didn't reply with this GIF.

Also, why Sims 4? Shoulda just got Sims 3 with the add-ons and such. Unless the devs fixed all the things wrong with Sims 4, which was a lot to be honest.

But to the topic at hand... I feel this gif should suffice...

The Sims 3 is still a glitch-fest, full of issues that the developers never fixed.

I really don't know much of anything about The Sims 4 (in terms of whether or not it was coded better than TS3 or not), but I thought I had heard it wasn't quite as glitchy? I don't know... It doesn't matter to me, because TS4 does nothing of significance to justify me getting it when I already have TS3.

Yeah but in Sims 3 they didn't happen consistently enough to ruin the game. At least not for me. And when they did happen they were either minimal, non-game breaking glitches, or ones that were just down right hilarious. It's sort of like Skyrim. It's a glitchfest but they don't happen enough to ruin it, and when they do, it's normally small, or just extremely funny. So you don't mind much.

If that makes any sense.

But yeah, Sims 4 is Sims 3 but with more customization. But it sacrifices play-ability for that customization. So really, it's not worth it. The whole mood type thing it has is cool and all but it's honestly just weird, hard to manage, and annoying most of the time. Really screws with everything.

In an attempt to make the game more realistic, they made it more unbearable to play really. But now I'm just ranting.. sorry.

Trust me, The Sims 3 is full of game-ruining glitches. I've dealt with one after installing the game on a PC I ordered specifically to run it perfectly. Some glitches may be funny but the one I dealt with most certainly wasn't... And the game still doesn't run like it should with the specs I have... But you know, PCs. *rolls eyes*

I can not tell you how many times I saw very frustrated The Sims 3 players deal with glitches that completely messed up their copies, no reinstalling could help them, and they just gave up...

I really don't know what you're talking about in terms of customization? The Sims 4 doesn't have Create-A-Style, which is a major downgrade in customization from The Sims 3. The Sims 4 is just not a good game, period.  It's like they took a console The Sims and put it on the PC, calling it a numbered The Sims title. They can't fool me! lol

Well I played the game for the PS3 and it was pretty fine there. Haha.

But yeah, Sims 4 was a disappointment and a terrible game. Shame so many youtubers playing it now. Gonna sucker people into getting it

If you like the game a lot, then you should buy it when it's on sale. ;)

But why buy the game if you can get it for free? It has the same features (well not maybe the online stuff), but still you can play singleplayer.

If you pirate stuff i recommend to keep it to yourselves.

I estimate 95% of PC users are pirates...

I like it, but I don't like Sims. However, you might want to keep pirating to yourself.

We are all pirates...

I'm proud to be a pirate. HAHA

Well, maybe the Sims 4 (core game only) consumes lower disk space than the Sims 3 (including all the packs and addons). I don't really need all the add-ons and misc things, I just want to play it, MLP style.

The Sims 3 is still a glitch-fest, full of issues that the developers never fixed.

I really don't know much of anything about The Sims 4 (in terms of whether or not it was coded better than TS3 or not), but I thought I had heard it wasn't quite as glitchy? I don't know... For me TS4 and TS3 has small differences from each other... Maybe the graphics but the same gameplay applies.

There's minimal changes between those two games... Same gameplay, small improvement of visuals.

I don't really care about the customizations and compatibility issues... all I'm after is to play a game which an MLP theme can be applied.

Well I played the game for the PS3 and it was pretty fine there. Haha.

Well I liked it, if I compare it with the Sims 3, there's really no significant difference.

PS: Funny thing really, no one cared about the designs and appearances I made with my sims... I worked hard on those you know.

Well, I don't want to be rude but... as I see it... once you mentioned you pirated it people just got turned off by the whole thing. It'd be kind of like making a thread that was titled "Cool pony plushy I made" and then starting the thread off with "So I just shoplifted all the materials to make a My Little Pony plushy." It just feels.. wrong to appreciate the value of something that spawned from the act of law breaking. At least that's how I felt/feel.

I'm not going to be preachy and tell you to stop pirating or anything, it's your choice. I'd just highly recommend NOT going around and telling everyone you've pirated a game. It makes you look bad. Especially to those who don't pirate. Which is probably most of the people who will read your posts on this forum.

Just a suggestion. No offense intended.

I highly recommend purchasing The Sims 4. They've really gone out of the way to make the game better since release (Which is good, because it had a lukewarm launch). The addition of ghosts and swimming pools was unexpected, but amazing.

The modding community is going strong, too. There's simply no reason to pirate the game if you enjoy it that much!

More like the re-addition of features that have been in every single The Sims game since the very first.

None taken. But really, why buy the game if you can get it for free? Well, I'm not saying that pirating is okay but the logic you know? I'm also aware that I "steal" dollars from the company/developers when I pirate stuff. But let's face the fact that they are already rich and their just making another game to gain additional and easy bucks. "Lets create another Sims game, change some of the features and sell it to the public." -Common marketing strategy

"might wanna keep the fact that you pirated it to yourself!"

Let's be honest, enough people bought that garbage known as the Sims 4 for EA to make a quick buck, everyone else is probably pirating it.

My point exactly.

PS: So I made a mistake stating I pirated the game and it was such a big deal to some of you... I respect your stand towards it, no need to tell me that its wrong but lets accept the fact that all of us probably pirates stuff. Also, I'm really stressing that no one really cared about the sims I created. It took some time to make them look like that you know...

A nickel's worth of free advice on the Sim's 3.  The only 2 additions I ever actually got any use out of were Supernatural (for magic) & Dragon Valley (owning a red dragon means you don't actually have to waste time sleeping).  Lock the moon at other than full or you will get invaded by Zombies every full moon.  The Seasons addition is worse than useless, it kills your garden part of the time.  If you want horses, add the Pets supplement.  The rest were just a big waste of money.

Speak for yourself. Seasons and Pets are the best of the best EPs in my opinion. Generations is also good, but only if you can find it for $10 or so because it doesn't really have the content worthy of being called an EP.

The one thing you have to learn about The Sims is that no one plays it the same, and no playstyle is better than any other. I really dislike Supernatural myself. I think it is quite possibly the lamest EP ever made for the entire series. Especially because of the stupid zombie apocalypse crap that is forced on you, when zombie apocalypses are exactly the kind of thing that I like The Sims series staying far, far, far away from, because I feel like that's what most of modern gaming seems to be all about. Zombies and violence.

SN may have added a good world and furniture, but otherwise it is horribly lame IMO.

Wow people came out by the boatload over the pirating comment. It's shame that we need 3 people to repeat what the first person critiqued you on. Shame to hear the Sim 4 and 3 are both well known for being glitchy and incomplete. I was a Sims 2 modder and having the ability to change all kinds of appearances, locations, and behaviors in that game were a huge reason for its success. I really don't think that the move to Sims 3 justified all the modding it lost. You can actually download Sims 2 direct from EA for free as they have it out there for anyone who wants it. It's a shame that the vast network of modding sites and downloads for it are almost all gone but I know there's people still playing it out there as they had it pretty well supported and just about anyone could create what they wanted to w/o a tone of coding.

Well, Supernatural seems to be the least liked addition, though I'm blessed if I can see why.   Like I said, you can beat the Zombies by locking the moon at a phase other than full.  If not, you still can get rid of them w potions.  I think the werewolf & vampire characters were cool, the only thing is if there's no full moon, you lose 1/2 the benefits of a werewolf.  My favored character is a witch, I love the potions & the chem set

I think Bonehilda is cool, but it's a pain, she keeps cooking stuff & she won't feed the dragons & it's hard to find her coffin.

I also think that kids should be able to do more (especially genie kids & ghosts) & that it's a damn shame you can't hire gardeners.  Kids can sleep in the club house.

As to Seasons, Yeah if you are into Winter Sports, it's good but I wanted the garden & hate sports.

I agree Sims 2 did some things better.  Sims3, you can't go shopping for clothes.  You need a dresser to change clothes & that took forever to find out.  The bed keeps deciding it belongs to X & won't let anyone else in & won't let go, kids can't jump on the bed anymore.  In many ways Sims 2 was as good or better

It sounds like Sims 4 doesn't give value for the money.  Money isn't everything (it isn't easy to come by, for instance).  So, I will save my money & not buy it.  Thanks for the heads up.

I think they're "saints"... they bought the game legitimately so they bash the pirates. And for TS3 and TS4, well, I don't really care if they're full of glitches or not. I can get it for free so no harm done.

Robert Heinlein (I think it was in Have Space Suit, Will Travel) "A skunk is never welcome at a picnic" (or words to that effect)

Back in the early 1980s bookstores quit carrying AD&D stuff because it got shoplifted too much.  I understand the temptation to swipe an overpriced piece of crap, I really do (& have succumbed on occasion).  However, as Popeye said in the movie "Wrong is wrong even if it helps you".  To which I'll add "Anyone can do the right thing when it's easy.  Principles are what you've got when it's not easy."

EA Games has been jerking me around for months (They are damn near as bad as MacAfee) & I'll probably never give them another dime of my hard earned money, but piracy is still wrong.  I'd rather have my self respect & no game.

Since everyone is too busy whining about the piracy comments, I'll actually mention the pony models (talking about the main discussion point? crazy, i know).

Pinkie's Equestria Girls outfit looks absolutely spot on, Maud Pie looks really good, however was purple not an option for Rarity's hair? And Twilight's hair looks kind of odd, but as someone who tried recreating her hair in the Sims 3, it's damned well near impossible lol.

Nicely done nevertheless!

I get your point, piracy is bad. But who cares, really? The government knows it, EA knows it, everybody knows it. Let's face the fact, piracy is everywhere.

Yeah... they've kinda made the piracy thing a really big deal. And thanks for your fair opinion about my pony models. I've made them without using any mod BTW. About Twilight's hair, it's the closest style that fits her, I tried my best. About Maud's hair color, the color options were very limited. And lastly about Rarity's hair. In my opinion it suits her, it's all fancy and classy. Thanks for your time though.
