Worst scenario for equestria is real

What is the worst scenario you can think of if portals or some other way of travel would open up, revealing that equestria and the characters from the show existed in real life (for real) in another dimension?

I see panic, violence from fear happening on both sides. Even if scientists did not capture anyone on either side to "study" their physiology. The moment either one travels to the other side, they bring bacteria, a virus, or a single germ that does not exist on the other planet, it multiplies rapidly and mutates dramatically. Turning from something that is mild or neutral to the other species and planet to the worst disease that has ever existed on the other.

Both Earth and Equestria is struck with a disease that is incurable and 100% fatal and is transmitted by air, water and body fluids. In equestria, the symptoms are a total catastrophic loss of the bodies ability to regulate body temperature with fever, vomiting, severe fatigue and seizures. On Earth, we have something similar to what would be a combination between Ebola-pox and the bubonic plague.

On both planets, half the population dies out in less then six months. The ponies with their much higher stamina have more time to live but are cut in half by around the eighth month. This continues until there is only pockets of both our species left

We find a way to close the portal linking both sides and the disease eventually fizzles and dies off as a generation or two later, both species have finally developed an immunity as well as an vaccine for it for later generations or in case of further mutations.

Not necessarily. We are talking about completely different species on a scale our planet (or theirs) has never seen. It may be the case that viruses from either side just can't bind with cells and are completely innocuous. The same for bacteria, producing metabolites that just can't interact with the other organisms. Not to mention that substrate necessary for the metabolism of bacteria, protozoa and the like may not even exist in the other side.

It could be both ways and that is even assuming that both worlds exist in universes that are compatible. It may be the case that Equestria would actually exist in an universe that is so different from ours in it's basic functioning that mater just breaks down by passing the portal.

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Hmm... I really couldn't say what would happen. It could go either way, there could be a deadly disease that could spread on both worlds, there could also be wars between the two species. But maybe not. (The war would probably not happen, because the ponies would probably say "Ohh... What are you?" and then be friendly ;) .) But that's my take on this. Who knows I could be wrong.

And here it goes: All scientist are cruel bastards who cut anything new open regardless if its sapient or not.

This fandom does really sometimes disgust me.

Also, i think you are watching too many movies.

Well... there might be some agreements at first until some lunatic finds oil or something precious that the ponies dont use...therefore its our (humans) right to take it.

Many would probably see them as "inferior" due to their "lack" of technology... And their gonna prob take the "Colonization take II"...trying to do something similar with Europe - America...

Just that it wont probably work and boom... We will end up in something humanity seems to be quite fond of war...

Lets be serious in the history of civilization we had a mere 250 years of peace.... thats less than 2%

We fought for land, crowns, religions, resources, rights...and even we had wars for PEACE...

I'm sure someone would set up something and hostilities would erupt...

You like it or not... Humanity is a violent race... we say we dont like war but it happens again and again. Its our nature to want more... And a new resource-ful un-human world is just what we need

As to the plague scenario, maybe.  MOST diseases are species specific & can't affect other species.  There are some, like Rabies & Bubonic Plague, & Anthrax that affect many species.  I'd go w some type Anthrax (already affects both Human & Horses)

As to a war, it depends on how many & how big are the gates?  (I.E., how many troops & how much supplies?).  Also, do guns work on EQ?  I'd think so, but they don't have guns & clearly have the tech to build them.  Also, do bombs work, does  radio, does crossing the portal body shift you?

I could more easily see a Changeling invasion of Earth than an Earth invasion of EQ.  There are a host of movies more or less on topic for that scenario.

Careful study, realize it's hospitable, invasion, expansion, reaping of natural resources, equestria becomes earth #2. pony natives are fewer in number but still around.

Although it wouldn't be like the colonization of the americas or africa, it'd be more subtle, and with a loooot of excuses, because you gotta at least TRY to look like what youre doing is justified or else people won't agree with it. But even then people still won't agree with it. Take the U.S. being in the middle east for example, it'll be something along those lines, if equestria shows extreme financial potential.

I'm with this that we'd end up as cattle for changelings. If the changelings aren't always that dumb like in Canterlot Wedding, they would conquer us faster than Islam does with west europe.

I don't know about that. I don't think anything equestria has can stand up to mechanized warfare, not even changelings. If 6 ponies can fight off an army of changelings then automatic weapons and some tanks and some jets could totally take care of it.

That Sonic Rainboom covered the better half of the country of Equestria.

That overlapped the city of Canterlot.

and those are just singular ponies, we haven't even brought alicorns into this yet(who, unlike most rulers, actually fight in wars). The worst possible scenario is we get into a war with Equestria, because mankind will become an endangered species in the span of a month.

This seems to turn in a magic vs tech competition

but anyway... A lot of ponies would be defenceless and easily fall victims... I mean look at all those villains in the show and how easily they overcame the civilans which just run around... i mean the princesses cant protect ALL of equestria. Humanity has the numerical advantage and well... thouands of years of war experience with atrocities and violence that would probably shock ponies and terrify them. As far as we know, the equestrian millitary...AKA royal guard is pretty much useless. We have the tactical advantage with way faster communication and co-ordination that aunexperienced ponies.

As far as we have seen Equestria has only dealt with small scale threats... the only truly big assault was the changelings and.... i wont even ge into them... THEY WERE TERRIBLE+ Celestia was defeated by Chrysalis which means Celestia is not the whole-powerful. the only real advantage they have is surprise and the landscape as humans will have adapt to magic and ponies would clearly have a better understanding of the surroundings.

Now lets consider human and our war capacities... We can go anywhere from conventional troops...to mechanised warfare... to bio-weapons (gases + viruses)...to nuclear strikes...which i must say would have a major psycological impact on the equestrians. Lets see...Rome invading Britain... many tribes surrendered out of pure fear/amazment. Japan WW2--> surrendered after the atomic bombs were dropped. Think about the horrors of war in our history... Vlad the impaler and his "Forest of bodies", Medieval times with all their terrible tortures and executions, WW2 with the concentration camps, the USSR and their gulags. Even in modern days... terrorist attacks and executions happen. These things would be unbelievable for ponies. Also we have a far sronger industrial and scientific bas which could easily come up with new weapons and mass-produce them... I am sure new spells are not that easy to create

You like it or not--> we, humans, are a violent race that pretty much eveolved and progressed due to war. As i already said, we spent most of our history fighting. I doubt equestria would stand a chance against humanity

(gosh... i luv millitary history)

the american f-22 raptor can handle anything in the sky, and the a-10 warthog can rip anything on the ground to shreds. Planes break the sound barrier all the time. magic could probably kill a few dudes, but mind you military tactics isnt "run straight at the enemy and fire and hope you hit something", if you go and watch videos of soldiers in the middle east most of it is them sitting there under cover and firing when they get the chance. I don't know anything about equestrian military tactics but I imagine it'd be along the lines of anything from antiquity to the late middle ages.

Not to mention mortars, napalm, SAMs, abrams tanks, bombers, artillery. The only thing that'd have a slight chance would be magic users. But can magic even pierce armor? Like what will they do if they face some tanks or something?

Worst case scenario?  We pillage their lands for resources as they are used to hucksters the level of Flim-Flam, not the carpet baggers we have.  Eventually we end up owning equestria and the ponies lose their souls to TV advertizements for a few trinkets.

I didn't mean open war, i talked about the horror movie way where shape shifters more and more kidnap and replace humans. Omg, my neighbours could be changelings already while the real ones are cocooned somewhere. My dog who is secretly a changeling might be already planning to catch me in my sleep.  :o  And this method will go on and on for many decades til the day they don't have to hide anymore and we are their slaves.

Yes, this is hard to pull off. Changelings would have to learn our jobs to not get themselves conspicuous so quickly. How to use our weapons could be useful, too. Changelings could be busted in the early stages. Actually i don't think they're smart enough for this, but we're talking about worst scenarios, right? :smug:

Another big problem with a Changeling infiltration would be a totally different body chemistry and method of transportation between the two races.

Humans are inherently nonmagical, it's just how we roll. The moment we find technology to detect magic (it's energy, there are means out there) any changeling disguised as a human would be immediately caught. On the other hand, Changelings would have to get used to bipedalism, no wings, HANDS, and a far more polluted atmosphere than that of Equestria. We don't notice it because we're used to it, but any Changeling that tried to live here would experience the joyful feeling of their lungs seizing up from a combination of airborne pollutants and a (likely) different oxygen concentration than in their home world.

I'll admit, that would be way cool with the exception that the two worlds remained separate for the most part. Like a Narnia or Harry Potter type setup! I could talk about physics and all that jazz and multiverse theory but let us say it is plausible and we're going there!

Things started out well.  We traded ambassadors.  We traded technologies.  Our economies flourished.

Then it happened....

The first terrorist attack toppled Canterlot off the side of the mountain.

More ponies died than in any time since the rule of Discord.

That was the beginning of the war.

The permanent portal offers a gaping hole in the Magical/Scientific veils that separate universes entirely, allowing other, darker and more advanced creatures to enter and have their ways with both Earth and Equestria.

In less than a month both planets are either barren of life, or barren of life that is not a tortured slave to these dark beings.

You do have a point with communication, though it doesn't matter all that much here. Human surprises mean little when the ponies seemed not to be too bothered by Ponyville suddenly becoming the chaos capital of the world overnight. They pretty much had to go through every law of physics in their universe violated, and they were fine afterward.

Now lets consider human and our war capacities... Remember when I said months? Yeah, mankind wouldn't have the time for these things. Equestria could gain information on us easily; from Luna peering into dreams, to changeling reconnaissance, it wouldn't be that difficult to just get the locations of world leaders and tactical strongholds and just take them out that way. Brainwashing is an option, too, if no one will tell; the want-it-, need-it spell, Discords touch... there's even a natural truth serum in the comics.

Also, problems with ever learning magic. An energy, yes; it behaves that way. An energy that we would have any idea how to manipulate or use? No. Even if it didn't exist in an unstable state (i.e disappearing once it left the source), given that we could even manipulate it at all (i'm being nice here), it would take centuries just to understand the mechanics behind it, even longer to see if we could produce it or use it. No, mankind will not just "master" magic; if it was that easy, we'd all have been shooting lightning out of fingers years ago.

On the speed issue; can the F-22 outrun lightning(ala mach 300, at least)? Rainbow Dash can. The Wonderbolts are right behind her in speed, as is Pinkie Pie and the alicorns (the two sisters). Anypony that can react to them moving, (which includes Twilight Sparkle, pre-alicorn, and the princesses, at least) will also be capable of reacting to anything moving at the same speed. Bullets, planes, even nukes... they're fast, but they may as well be standing still in a fight.

On the power issue; the amount of energy put out in that Sonic Rainboom above should be standard issue for ponies(seeing as how this was pre-element filly Rainbow Dash). Magic in Equestria is produced from the body just like an energy, which means to survive an energy release like that without being ripped apart, the body would need to be strong enough to withstand that much force and energy without taking damage(Newton's Third Law). Can the A-10 replicate or surpass a release of that much energy? Because Rarity did that when she knocked out the Wonderbolts:

Despite however it may look, the amount of force being exchanged there surpassed that limit; meaning that punch was equal to or stronger than that Sonic Rainboom. That amount of force could punch through tank armor like it wasn't there, and Rarity (the unicorn, supposedly the weakest race physically) did that while panicking.

Basically, the only thing holding them back is the size of our planet; covering Earth would take a lot of time. We can't win; it's just a game of whether or not humanity surrenders before Celestia decides it's just easier to pull the sun a few thousand miles closer to earth, flambeing the planet as it turns.

I'm not talking about speed, well I kind of was, but what I meant was hooves versus bullets, what do you think would win? I hope you chose bullets, because then you'd be right. Now don't go and think I actually want any harm done to our beloved pony friends, but I'm looking at this realistically.

Rarity was also swinging up, the wonderbolts had no form of armor or any kind of protection besides their goggles, and were flying quickly into Rarity's arms, which were swinging wildly and not actual, honed punches. And I don't think you could close to any soldier to punch him or buck him when hes got a gun firing bullets at you from meters away, or mortars and rockets flying at you, your speeding tanks about to run you over, suggesting that they arent firing at you.

How many times can a pony do a sonic rainboom? It doesn't seem like an effective weapon, if it's your only one.  And the A-10 doesn't need to beat it in strength because it fires soooo much faster, at about 65 to 70 rounds a second, when it took rainbow dash about 22 seconds to preform a sonic rainboom, and if you were to sonic rainboom (or fly at all) into any kind of armor, at the ground, or any other plane, that's literally suicide and seeing as rainbow dash is the only pony who has been able to do it, that would be a very ineffective tactic.

I also imagine if there was any kind of attack, it would begin on pony soil rather than earth's, because the way I see a war going down is human invasion, seeing how nice ponies are they couldn't even fathom declaring war on anyone. So, going with my argument that humans have SUPERIOR fire power, the battle would likely never reach earth (plus I imagine the portal would be an astounding choke point), I don't think Celestia would bring the sun towards Equestria and burn herself and her beloved subjects alive.

Well, I was assuming it was through a portal, hence she would be controlling our sun; a lot less moral constrictions, though she'd only use it as a last resort.  I think you missed my point, though, so let me be straightforward: ponies won't be hurt by bullets, and they won't be hurt by bombs. A shot from a tank wouldn't hurt them any more than a slap from a pillow.

When I said Newton's third law, I was saying equal but opposite forces are acting on the body. Ponies using that magic have to survive have bodies durable enough to survive its effects. For unicorns, that also means surviving the forces of levitating other objects (ala Twilight moving the Ursa Minor in Boast Busters). They have to be able to handle this energy physically; If not, their bodies would be destroyed, same as if you tried to punch ten times your strength level.

This means a weaker force is not going to hurt them; their bodies have already survived more total energy than that force can produce. Basically, because bullets and bombs cannot produce more energy than this:

They cannot hurt ponies. We could throw all of our ammunition at them, and the worst that would happen is they might slip on the shells.
