  1. I got my hands on a 1923 Brunswick record player. Roaring Twenties!! I even managed to acquire some records for it after some heavy research in the halls of the antique mall, all of which are prior to the 40's. From a Semper Fi of the 30's to The Little Gingerbread Boy record - my library is limited to the records I have. Other than that it's classical music for me and 30's with some 40's mixed in. Those would be the musical selections I listen to that my parents don't. I do like modern music but that for another forum topic.
  2. Completed my first film project of the semester! I was even able to be an actor. Not bad. :)

  3. I recently received a Flutterbat vinyl with a coin. Pre-ordered it in Feb. It's been a wait but I'm a happy owner now!
  4. Eager for school to start!

Awesome! I am in love with the show (the first one) ~ I ordered an Asuna Figma to put on my desk. Should be here in time for my birthday! Do you have a favorite character?

Nope but I do like the storyline and stuff!

  7. Does anyone play FF a Realm Reborn on PS4? I'm looking for friends to have adventures with!

  8. It depends on what sort of mood I'm in. I'll grow the full beard, sometimes landscape my face to pull off different styles, clean shave or leave some stubble. It's why I've never gotten tattoos ~ I like to change things up often.
  9. How is everyone doing?

  10. I dreamt I actually met another Brony. Pretty disappointed when I woke up. ha

  11. I am single and there are times which I really enjoy it, however, being in a relationship - eventually - is where I see myself. I was in a major relationship once (of course other minor relationships too throughout my life), been single for about a year now, been enjoying it but there are times when I feel lonely, I miss the human intimacy. I'm waiting for the right one to come around, I've learned not to settle, being patient really pays off! In retrospect Ive really been able to develop who I am and have done so much with regaurds to my life goals that I would have never been able to do if I had not left my old relationship. Both sides of the coin have their pros and cons you could say.
  12. Visiting Kentucky - hello to all KY bronies!!

  18. An attempt to make these blogs more readable. Let's be honest, I could write everything down in a book for my own eyes. But here, it's for everyone, so why not a titch of spice? Attending my first film set tomorrow - a sort of early start to my college career this coming Fall. That is three years condensed for a BA in Film and Art Sciences. Felling excited! Been cutting my own hair now for a year, never done it before and it has been quite nice; an intimate time in front of the mirror. I never liked sitting silent watching a stranger cut my hair although it was easy, you know, just sitting there. I always felt compelled to talk to the hair-cutter; I didn't want to. That's my reason for leaving the barber-shop! Trust me, it was rough going but I eventually got going on my own two feet! Another hair-related topic. I've gone "poo-less" that's right, no shampoo for more than a half of a year. What? Sounds strange, you're imagining these nasty dreds, oh no; I have Nirvana hair now. Simple; no more chemicals, so my hair can breath now and shine, oh how it shines! Some baking-soda with 3/4 water mix, rub it in my hair, wash and spray a apple-cider water mix to it, rinse again, done. I'm getting some lavender oil to mix it with to add scent! Am I a hipster? That's certainly the image I'm painting, well I consider myself a Renascence man. I'm old school. Seriously. I ordered a new ribbon for my type writer and needles for my record player (it's from the roaring twenties) Okay, so perhaps, hipsters use these things too. :okiedokielokie: As per-usual I enjoy poetry and story-writing. I will have to make an MLP story one of these blogs. Here you go, for your reading pleasure ~ ~ Between the Folds of Time The waves rolled like distant thunder, melting as they swam ashore; hissing into the sand. Beyond the waters edge, stars would ascend into the sky, blooming into dreams and questions. You looked at me, illuminating eyes, green splashed in gold. How far time has walked we did not know, for in that moment, we were infinite. Ribbons of light beat from your chest in violet, pink and red hues. Our clothes danced slowly in a windless air, cradled by the ocean that once was. Hands interlocked, soft as the scent of Spring, warm as a Summers breeze ~ hair rich in Autumns splendor, lips as full as Winters Moon. You spoke the seasons; a tulip unfolds amidst the void. In that space, we witnessed simplicity and felt beautiful complexity ~ between the folds of time.
  19. Nice drawing! You've inspired me to create my own Ponysona, thanks!
  20. It is interesting that you chose 5 years because that is the interval in which I look back and think about what I was like and how I have changed. Boy, five years ago is definatley cringe-worthy! I was due to be in a spiraling relationship - which I did learn many valuable lessons from at no expense to my health thank goodness. I left her for many reasons, most of which was opposing ideologies, being lied to, manipulated and cheated on. I thought that was the guys role to fill! (joke) I'm much happier now and wow has life improved for me!
  21. People are afraid of what they do not understand. The kicker is when people complain about something (Bronies for ex:) but never try to understand it; instead they waste all the energy they could put towards understanding something and rather they complain about it. Humankind has come a long ways but in some fields we are lagging behind..severely. People are upset over all the wrong things honestly. Instead of worrying about the island of trash floating in the Pacific Ocean we concern ourselves over how people demonstrate their love and with whom during their own personal time. Instead of trying to tackle globalization and supporting a rising world population, we are worrying about legalizing marijuana. Let's go a step further - I remember when American Idol was in its heyday, more U.S. citizens voted for that show than during the presidential election ~ then when people began complaining about the President...astonishing. I have "faith in humanity" as they say, just not certain people. :okiedokielokie:
  22. I was astonished when I watched the Fox News video reporting on Bronies. It was nothing but misconceptions and dislike; well they proved they obviously do not investigate anything before deciding to air it. When is that news network being moved to Comedy Central?
  23. Essentially the comments themselves. This goes for any website that supports the uploading of anyone's ideas or interests and expressing themselves via video for the most part. I ignore the comment section all together because I know I will see something ridiculous. I'm a fan of constructive criticism but what we sometimes see today can be beyond the border of blatant ignorance and complete lack of consideration for others. We know them as "trolls". People who go out of their way and get off at making other people upset. My big issue with these folks is that I can guarantee you if we placed one of them in front of the person they were offending / being an idiot towards; they would hush up. It's because they are safely tucked away in their rooms, in front of a monitor, that they feel as though they can say anything to anyone. I'm sure some have, but I personally haven't seen troll activity on the MLP forums. It's been very nice, like breathing fresh mountain air or listening to an intelligent person talk.
  24. Yes. Not all children are however, although more children / teens are in this generation we are discussing than any other in history. I would go as far as to say that this runs true more so in America than in other countries from my own personal observations in travel. My theory is how that generation was introduced to technology. It was not a gradual process. When I was ten in 2000, technology was advancing at a decent pace. Later on in the decade, the Ipod, computers and smart phones advanced so quickly that consumers were constantly struggling to keep up and they still are. The first quantum device was created this year. This will lead to quantum computing, devices that can catch and fix their own errors and are incredibly fast; much faster than anything we have today. Look how fast tech is evolving, it's impressive if not worrying. Access to tech has become so easy, what with family plans and the like, children are able to access it earlier and earlier. They feel empowered with this tech being given to them, not having to work for it in most cases. To my point of children in America being the most spoiled - let's face a fact, the U.S. is the king of the entertainment industry. Progress in entertainment, which many children today are a major component, should be recognized as a contributing factor to spoiling, coupled with the tech such as smart phones that nearly every child the age of 12+ has, perhaps even earlier. Look at the adds against being a "zombie" on smart phones these days. People are recognizing the problems this has with our youngest minds. It can spoil them and has effectively removed socialization from their day to day lives. Social networking is not socializing, it is talking to someone in person, not through a screen that is socializing. Of course parenting has a lot to do with a child being spoiled. Tech just being a factor. I've seen children from very poor families and wealthy families whom are spoiled. It comes down to the parents, period. The Dust Bowl generation was taught the value of working hard for your earnings amidst the greatest natural disaster North America has ever seen, as well as dealing with a depression and WWII. Then you have the Vietnam generation, the Cold War generation, etc. Today, the post 9/11 generation does not have much to be concerned about here at home. What is happening abroad around the world, they do not know much about and at around 15 years of age and lower, I wouldn't expect them to. It is one of the only generations I know of, that has not had to be concerned about conflict (as in they themselves taking part), a depression, a major natural disaster, etc. This, tech overload and bad parenting, I believe, are the reasons why there are a lot of spoiled children these days.
  25. When she talks, everyone's IQ in the room plummets. Wow.
