Amber breathed in deeply trough her nostrils.

"This land has little left to offer me, captain," Amber lied. "There are many things in this world I need to discover. Starting with the sea."

She looked down at the wooden floor.

"I admit I'm not a pirate at heart, captain, if that's your concern," she said quietly. "But I can get you to your destination of you can get me to mine." She stared into her captain's eyes with burning determination. Amber turned to face the door.

"Shall we set sail?"

She trotted out of the room and headed towards the helm.

 

((I didn't realize the first mate would also be the navigator, but that's cool with me.))

"I don't want cruel ponies, so if seeking the seas is your goal, you found the right ship. We are only targeting the cargo ship because of supplies. Now, please set her on course. I have a pony I need to talk to."

Walking out on deck, he starts looking for his carpenter to warn him about possibilities such as a rival ship. "I need him ready, we can't afford to be taken down." Seeing the sign, he chuckles and turns. "Good idea, rest is needed."

I talk to the gunner as I carefully take the stairs to the lower deck. "Oh, nothing much. Celestia wants me out of her country as quickly as she can without actually having me exiled. So I thought, 'why not jump on a pirate ship on my way out?' so what about you? I haven't heard from you in a while."

Amber walked silently towards helm. As she heard her hooves click against the wood, she tried to remember the terms she had read in a book once, but her memory failed her.

"Prepare to set sail!" She called instead. "Captain's orders. Everypony in position!"

Arriving at the helm, Amber she stared vacantly at the map in front of her and began to plot their course.

I'm certainly on the right ship, she thought, smiling to herself.

 

((To avoid clutter, I suggest that each ship has their own thread. Including an extra thread for whenever we may be all together. That way people wot be intimidated by the mass of posts ahead of theirs. Thoughts?))
