@@SilentFlight, @@Firehearted, The Kaiser awoke to find a message inside inside of his mailbox. To many it seemed strange that he would have such a thing in his chambers, but he thought it as somewhat genius since it provided a way for him to receive not so urgent letters and the like as soon as possible without disturbing his rest. This afternoon, was hardly unlike any other. He scanned the that day's newspaper, feeling quite smug from its multiple points where it praised him, and he took great interest in the latest advertisements for new or improved devices. He took great pride in the ingenuity of his subjects, no matter how small. He also looked over the days reports thus far on military activities such as training exercises, accidents, and scouting missions. Some activity had been observed in the south where a great Pegasus population was said to live. Abendstern had never made contact with them for reasons including having mostly operated at night in the past, and getting caught up in it's own productivity. There simply hadn't been a need. There was an ever growing curiosity of how the southern nation produced food, since a pegasus had never been sited planting crops.  The land was also known for being crop friendly, and this in recent years had become an interest for Abendstern, since it would have to find a means to feed its ever growing population in the near future or have to make major social economic changes so it could properly adjust. After a thought, the Kaiser realized that their hadn't been any interaction with the Griffons either. It had been more than a generation since they had last,and that was with a distinctively secular group. At the same time, Abendstern had been meaning to construct a railway system with the excess Iron ore they had obtained, that would take them through unknown territory. Now would be as a good of a time as any other to begin a mission to scout out possible areas for it, and attempt good relations with some of its neighbors. Best of all, this would provide a chance to truly test out the newer Large Airships in long distance travel. The Kaiser had been eager to see just how far they could go. He got ready for the day and held a meeting for setting up the path that would be taken, which he intended to personally attend. Twice the normal number of airships were sent out the next day to see how conditions were on the edge of Abendstern's borders.

The captain enters the office. He was a pretty tall stallion with some sense of dominance in the room. He makes a small bow to command respect and states.

 

"I speak on behalf of the Kingdom  of Ponssia. We have recently opened the eastern seas for our ships and are in a search for reliable trading partners."

 

He opens a small ches filled with gold,

 

"In exchange, we are willing to offer riches, and for loyal parners, protection."

 

(It is extremly hard to have these diplomatic convos in non-real time... u have to talk a lot by urself   )

Salazaria stood at the edge of a pier with one of her advisers

 

"Well, is it ready?" she asked

 

"Well yes, the treasure fleet is completed this is by far the largest barge we've ever built, and the highly decorated triremes are finished to, the world will be in awe of our kingdoms wealth" the adviser replied

 

"Excellent! I cant wait to go and meet the world and bring home exotic goods from all over! But first.." Salazaria turned to her adviser, intentionally looking at him with her eye patch, letting the gold lined picture of an eye stare at him "I want you to send scout ships, I will not embark only to get lost send five vessels in different directions and if they find other kingdoms they will report back so I know where to go"

 

"Of course my queen" the adviser bowed and walked away to see to it that her request was met, Salazaria continued to look out to the gulf wondering what was out there.

 

The adviser returned moments later "The ships are off, three are heading out into the sea this way, while the forth and fifth will go the other down south to the river opening there."

 

Salazaria smirked and started walking to her palace

@@The Shadow Stallion,@@arkman575, @@Lordav, The cold. It's suddenness gripped the north live in an icy vice. It was always cold in the Frozen North. But this was the cold that defined it. For this was the lash of Winter. A time where areas such as Volund and the Wolven Empire were subject to being trapped behind miles upon miles of frozen sea. With this and the near continuous storms, any means of accessing the region were made impossible. It would be some time before anyone came into contact with them. It was always a question whether these nations would survive the seasonal event. Especially the Wolven Empire with its scarcity of food made many to believe it to be already, or at the very least soon, to be dead. The differences between these nations practically determined the outcome of any attempt of an agreement. The Wolves returned to their home still hungry, and the Ponies of Volund stowed themselves away till the majority of the sea ice would melt. The Ponissians having mildly impressed the Volunders, felt confident in that they gained a possible partner in trade or ally,  packed up their frigate and sailed back to their homeland before the Ice closed in on them.

The frigate was nearly caught by the ice and rushed back home in the port. The captain reported that there were people there... but the land wasn't the best. The only actual attraction being the furs that could be obtained there. However after taking a better look at the ocean, the council agreed that it was not worth going out in such dangerous ice-filled waters for some furs

Just outside of a port city in  Pegasonia, a Cidonian Trireme pulled into view, the gold eye on its black sail glistened in the sunlight, this particular trireme was decorated, the ram on the front stylized like a falcon in flight and also glittered gold, bright blue and white paint was used to paint the ship, and large eyes were painted on sides, the mainly pegasi crew were decorated in highly elaborate and bright armor, the unicorn servants helped drop the anchor to keep the ship in place, the ships captain, who would serve as ambassador to this particular nation, put on his brightly adorned headdress and walked onto the deck of the ship.

Immediately as the unknown nations ship entered the port it was surrounded by 3 pegasonian frigates and pegasi militants flew of and hovered around the ship and one with a 3 star general insignia said to the ship" we mean no harm to you if you comply we see you have a diplomat aboard tour ship and we have one on our ship and we assume you wish to discuss with him if not I will have to ask you to turn around and leave"

The captain on the trireme looked up at the pegasus with the insignia "Yes we would like to speak with a diplomat, we are here on behalf of the kingdom of Cidonia" the crew whispered and talked among themselves. one unicorn looked around with a look of awe and fright, his handler came over and reassured him.

The general said"ok I am going to have to escort your diplomat over to my ship over here which our diplomat has a table where he may discuss with yours you may bring only two guards from your ship if you wish but I ask that they are stripped down to only handguns and then they will discuss and we will see what happens."

"Understood" while he didnt exactly know what a handgun was, he knew that this was not the time for questions, he looked over at two of his soldiers and nodded, they had swords in their sheaths, however it was clear they were made for more show than actual use. The 3 of them flew up to meet the general, the captain spoke "lead the way"

The general lead them over to a massive looking ship with a two flours of cannons mounting the sides of the ship and then the general pointed to a door where the captains quarters are and said"the diplomat is in there we have two armed guards in there as well just to warn you when you go in there"

The captain nodded and then him and his guards entered the quarters "Greetings, I am Captain Ciszaro of the kingdom of Cidonia, on behalf of Queen Salazaria, we would like to discus diplomacy" he stated, his guards walked in and posed beside him the extra gold and jewels in their breast plates lightly glistening in the light

"wonderful as I would like to discuss the same thing and since you were the one to cone to us I would like to ask what you have to offer to our fine nation and if it is an alliance you are seeking I will have to ask you what is the size of your military and what is your nations perspective on the Pegasus race."

"Ah yes, our nation has riches beyond belief!" he turns to one his guards "show him" the solider walks over and unsheathes his sword and puts it on the table, the sword is gold with several engravings and gems decorating it "This is a tiny fraction of our wealth, if we view your country as favorable, the queen will grace it with her presence and our treasure fleet.  Our military is about 50,000 strong, weve had some reductions as weve been in a peaceful era, however since we have begun exploring, talks of expanding those numbers is under way. And to your question about pegasi, we are the true citizens of our land, unicorns, are our servants and bare backs are used only for labor."

The diplomat smiled and said "I think our nations are going to get along wonderfully. We may have a smaller infantry force than yours but what we can do is offer you food in trade for you gems and with that we can also provide you military technology's beyond your peoples dreams. Your nation will boom with military power and with you allied with our army. Our military tactics can help us conquer those who do not believe the way we do. Pegasi will rule the world and will us together and a few others no one can stop us so are you in."

"I think this may have sealed the deal, i must admit i am in awe of your technology, we have been isolated for so long, we were expecting to see some higher technology but this is impressive, gems for arms  sounds like a good trade, I will report favorably to the queen, so that she may speak with your kingdoms ruler, also if I may ask, can we bring back some of your advanced weaponry to show off, the queen loves exotic things"

Sure since your people have no training with our weaponry we will send two of our frigates with some of our weaponry and some militants so they can train your people with our weaponry if your queen approves. But after that and with the gems you provide us we can start mass produceing the weaponry and we will have a larger army than any other nation we will alert our leader that your queen wishes to meet with her we will be here waiting for your queens arrival"

The captain stood up and bowed a little "It was an honor negotiating with you, the queen will arrive in a few days time once we have returned, keep the sword as a gift from us" the captain and his guards left the quarters, he looked at the general "If you may escort us back to our ship"

The general looked at the captain and said "gladly I hope everything went well and we look forward to meeting your leader soon and I hope this is the start to a long friendship between our nations" a pony came up to the general and whispered in his ear "so I assume things did go well if we are sending weaponry to show your queen well good luck on your journey and see you soon"(ask the moderater if we are aloud to skip time currently or if we have to add time into travel because of how far we are in the RP)

The scattered straight, Third flottila of the Ponssian Navy

 

A large group of heavy Ponssian warships was patrolling the area. The largest in the fleet was the SMS Hullbreaker, a four-decked 122-gun Heavy first rate that made any othe ship look like a tiny boat. It was one of the three largest ships in the navy and was escorted by 6 other ship of the line and 4 frigates. The captain of the Hullbreaker was Admiral Seahoof, a brilliant naval startegist. He was standing on the upper deck scanning the horizon with a telescope. A small bumb on the waterline caught his eye;

 

"Lance-corporal Smith!"

 

A Stallion dressed in a officers uniform rushed to the admiral, and saluted.

 

"Change course 50 degrees starboard, we got unreported actvity in sector 5"

 

"Yes Sir! You head the admiral! Bring her about!"

 

Bells rung on the deck as the massive ship turned towards the direstion of the small boast and the frigatesa dn warships quickly followed. The first rate turned its right broadside towards the incoming boat facing it with 50 cannons. The rest of the ships encircled the tiny trireme.

 

"You are present in restricted Ponssian National Waters! State your identity and reason or you will be blasted out of the water!" an officers yelled through a megaphone.

 

Rowboats filled with soldiers were lowered and started approching the unidentified boat.

At Blackfire ship

Blackfire and crystal tower were having bread when a message came in from pegasonia that a new nation had visit there nation and there diplomats had come to an agreement at that there queen wishes to meet ASAP at the port city of pegapolis. Blackfire told Crystal tower that he could come along and meet her there if he wanted to talk more but she was going to have a few ships out here to tell the other leader that arrive what had happened and they could meet her there if they wanted but she had to go and her ship started to sail towards Pegapolis.

"Yes, everything went well. expect to see to see the treasure fleet within the week" The captain said, he headed back to his ship, after formalities and the tireme turned around and headed back to Cidonia

The captain of the highly decorated trireme flew up and shouted "WE ARE HERE ON BEHALF OF THE KINGDOM OF CIDONIA! WE ARE HERE ON A PEACEFUL EXPLORATION MISSION!" he coughed a bit not used to shouting, he had no idea if the large ship even heard him.  On board, the crew were restless, whispering among themselves

The admiral was a bit confused, he turned to his corporal,

 

"Do you have any idea wha the said?" he whispered

 

"Something about exploration and coming form a kingdom of Codina i think.. sir!"

 

"I think it must be some sort of lifeboat...Very well, tow them up"

 

The corporal saluted and yelled;

"Bring them up!"

 

A crane was erected from the center of the deck and sailors threw ropes overboard. The men in the rowboats tired these ropes to the front and end of the trireme and made a signal. The trireme was slowly hoisted up the massive ship and place in a hole on the ships upper deck. The coat was then immidiately surrounded by two lines soldiers and they aimed for the crew of the boat. Their bayoneted muskets probably looked like spears to the newcomers but the soldiers faces showed no sense of remorse. A few of them threw a look at the gold on the ship but nevertheless stood still.

 

"Admiral on deck!"

 

The second line saluted simultaneously.The admiral aked.

 

"You said something about a peaceful expedition on behalf of some kingdom...right?"

The crew of the trireme looked around in shock of the technology and the massive vessel, one unicorn hid behind his handler, who in turn, flared his wings out to hide his servant

 

the gold gem infused armor of the crew glistened and glittered in the sun light

 

"Yes I am Captain Zalro, I am on a peaceful exploration mission for the kingdom of Cidonia" he said trying to remain calm
