Definitely the 6th Gen. Amazing output of games, great libraries for the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube(and the shortlived Dreamcast). The PS2 in particular was an absolute monster, but the 'Cube is one of my all-time favorite consoles

EDIT: Oh we're talking about favorite console of each generation

3rd(Never played the first two) - NES

4th - SNES

5th - Playstation

6th - Gamecube

7th - 360

8th - So far...Xbox One

3rd Gen: NES

4th Gen: Super NES

5th Gen: N64

6th Gen: GameCube

7th Gen: Xbox 360

8th Gen: Undecided

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

No comment on the first gen since I don’t really have any experience with.

2nd gen: The Atari 2600 but pretty must just by default since it’s the only console from this era I have a substantial amount of experience with.

3rd gen: NES. I do have a bit more experience with each of the three consoles (actually bought an Atari 7800 for my brother last year) and even like them to some extent or another, but the NES still holds the most variety in terms of games I like.

4th gen: Super NES - Easily one of my favorite consoles of all time. Granted, the Sega Genesis isn’t too far off, but the SNES still just has a lot of variety and many of my favorite games of all time, including Super Mario World - my favorite platformer game and among my Top 5 of all time.

5th gen: Sony PlayStation - Another one of my favorite consoles of all time, having a pretty vast library overall with a ton of different types of games. An example of a console that to this day I still find something new I really like for.

6th gen: This one’s kind of close for me between the GameCube and PlayStation 2. I’d say the PlayStation 2 had a much more vast library with a lot of variety, but for me the best games on the GameCube definitely stand out to me more than the best games on PlayStation 2, even if there are a lot of great games on there.

7th gen: Another pretty close one for me, just between the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. The Wii I’d say is a console I’ve in general had more fun with especially with it’s line-up of really good games (Super Mario Galaxy, enough said) as well as features like the Virtual Console and whatnot, but I’d say I like the PS3 more as a “seventh gen” console in a sense due to having more multiplatform games on top of it’s exclusive lineup.

8th gen: Despite some of Nintendo’s shitty practices recently, I’d still say the Nintendo Switch overall. The whole feature of being able to take the console portably or play it on a TV screen at home definitely appeals to me, and being able to take some of my favorite already existing games on the go (i.e. Overwatch, Undertale, Night in the Woods, Sonic Mania) on top of Nintendo’s exclusives is really nice. I still gotta say the Wii U is still an underrated gem though, and the Xbox One X is a really nice console.

9th gen: No comment, don’t have much experience with either the PS5 or Xbox Series S/X.

I could tell this was long before I got my PS4. Looking at it now, my favorite 8th gen console was the PS4. As for 9th gen, it's probably the Switch(yes I count it as 9th gen). Of course, getting the Series X and PS5 is still impossible to get :p
