writing A Valentines Day Poem on Love and Tolerance

The world isn't sunshine and rainbows. Yes, this is true,

But what the world is is all up to you.

You see darkness and horror, that's what it'll be.

But if you love and tolerate, what colors you'll see.

Love and tolerance is difficult, no doubt,

But hateful ignorance will just make you pout.

Life isn't easy, I'm sure many will agree,

But being like those guys is a bunch of poop and pee.

I'd rather love and tolerate and be beaten for it,

Than hit and beat others and treat them like shit.

Before I digress, I've got one thing to say,

I'm forever alone on Valentines Day.

I love the message this poem is expressing. It's an issue I struggle with every day.

 

Also, about the last line. Not sure if you said that for dramatic effect or if you actually believe it, but if you really think that don't. I used to think that way and all that did was bring me pain. Lo and behold I wasn't alone this valentine's day, and if that can happen to me it can happen to anyone.
