Random thought, but when do you think Jushin Thunder Liger will finally come out and announce his retirement?

 

Considering he approaches his mid 50s and has been wrestling since the mid 80s, what will it take to make him stop?

 

Maybe they will let him win the new japan rumble at the preshow of wrestle kingdom 11, as a sort of last hurrah, because the man deserves it.

I know it's basically just him complaining but, I find them entertaining for some reason.

I know it's basically just him complaining but, I find them entertaining for some reason.

 

Cornette has a very charismatic voice and a very unique way to talk.

 

I don't always agree with him, because he has a very old school way of looking at wrestling and he never tried to go with the times, meaning he hates everything about wrestling today and i mean EVERYTHING.

 

But this guy raises some good points and his old school wrestling stories are fun to listen to.

I really sympathize with Cornette here. Dunn never liked Wrestling and only has a job for lifetime there, because his father saved a bunch of tapes from a fire and Russo for all kinds of stupid reasons, because Vince Russo is Vince Russo.

Vince Russo has so much going against him. I (Like Jim Cornette and Roddy Piper) blame Russo for Owen Hart's death. And once you think back to the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars, even though the ratings were high for Raw during that time, the overall quality of the PPVs and matches weren't as spectacular from a pure wrestling standpoint and haven't really aged well IMHO. 

 

Believe me when I say that there is VERY LITTLE, if any reason at all for me to like about Vince Russo.

I haven't always agreed with Vince Russo but I agree with what he said about Sting's WWE run.

 

He deserved better and it suffered because of Vince McMahon's ego.

I don't think he ever will. I mean Flair wrestled into his 60s.  In Japan, your job is your life. You devote yourself to your craft in order to put fourth the best from it. What would Liger do with his life after retirement? What would he be without wrestling?

You make a good point, considering Wrestling in Japan, is still Wrestling and a sport for them. You don't get bombarded there with kayfabe breaking left and right.

At worst, he'd probably stay semi-retired. He'd make a few appearances a year, but he'd never stay out of it. I'd only see it happening if he just could not physically compete anymore. And even then he'd still be involved in some form. Becoming a sensei at the NJPW dojo, join Jado & Gedo in bookings, become the on air authority figure (does NJPW even have authority figures?), heck maybe have a cushy commentary job. He's already dabbling in that.

Am I the only one who thinks Seth Rollins is a lousy good guy right now? Think about it. What are the differences between him now vs. him in the authority? The only thing that's changed about him is who his opponents are. He's still very snide, cocky, arrogant, and belittling. These aren't things you associate with a good guy.

 

So either A. Just say that this whole thing is a ruse and he was part of a big authority conspiracy all along and make him a villain again

 

Or B. Make him a full on good guy. Make him more humble. Make him seem like a gritty bad ass in the ring, instead of the coward who'd run from fights. And most importantly, have him admit that joining the authority was a mistake, and have him apologize to both Roman & Dean for breaking up the shield.  This isn't just a turn to the light side. This is Seth's redemption arc. And WWE are executing it piss poorly.

That's probably why they haven't changed him. They're trying to replicate that formula, and have been since Rocky left. 

 

Difference is, the rock was funny when he did it, including the whole audience. Seth just acts like a bullying tool. Indifferent to the fans and just slinging wisecracking insults like an arrogant punk, instead of denouncing and embarrassing his opponents like Rock did.
