Do you think this story is real or fake?

I can't buy anything that goes on in wrestling these days due to the worked shoots like the fake somberness when a wrestler isn't really hurt etc.

It seems mighty suspicious to me all of this went down. NO way is this genuine.

Easily match of that weekend for me

No spots for the sake of spots, no screwy finishes, no interferences. Just two big beefy boys slapping the meat out of each other in the name of solid in-ring storytelling

Sheamus absolutely deserved that standing ovation

Who Produced Gunther & Sheamus' Amazing WWE Clash At The Castle Match?

Wrestling needs more solid finishes and I agree that Sheamus's standing ovation was totally deserved.

On one hand, I'm glad Gunter won because it builds him and the Intercontinental Championship up and on the other the image of Sheamus

winning with *that* deeply invested crowd would've been EPIC!  :o

I dunno, people weren't happy with the match. Shoddy officiating too. There isn't a clear endgame either.

As to what's next on the other front? Well you've seen all the folks that came back from career ending injury. So probably a lot.

Spoiler

I'm just glad she's not wearing so much make up now. Her return where she was wearing lipstick just made her look two decades older.

I'm not a huge fan of theirs but it would be cool if they could return to the ring and end things on their own terms like Edge and Bryan Danielson*.

*The amount of times I want to type "Daniel Bryan" due to years of hearing that name in WWE. :BornAgainBrony:

Spoiler

I feel like she needs to stay as a manager or authority figure. One more bad bump could paralyze her or worse.

So here's a deep find. The official 2nd iteration of the ROH world title, used for one night only and awarded by Les Thatcher to Samoa Joe before his first defense against CM Punk.

Sweet!

I wish you could actually see the word "Champion: from a distance on WWE's main Championship's. The US title got it right

The first/ current ROH title doesn't even have world on it. It's just the ROH wrestling championship. Kinda guilty of the same thing WWE did over a decade later, but a bit classier.  ROH didn't stamp their logo on it (that's what the tag straps were for), just the company name in big font on a bigger hunking chunk of steel. But back then that made sense. You were the champion of ROH above all else. The world would come later. Probably why they wanted a new literal world title with Joe elevating its prestige.

WWE doesn't get it. They've gone backwards. They've shifted focus inward from the rest of the world back to the company. The guy with the belt is the face of the WWE. That trumps anything else, even beating the worlds finest in that ring. US title looks more prominent, because it represents a country, a concept much worthy of fighting for. At the end of the day, the WWE title is just repping a corporation. If the universal title weren't a carbon copy, it would have more value based on not being the embodiment of a fortune 500 company.

I prefer when the wrestling company name is more subtle like WWE's Undisputed Championship or the "Big Gold" World Heavyweight Championship

because you know what it is but it isn't being screamed in your face.

It's WWE presenting an important championship. The current belt is WWE presents... WWE. I was never fond of *insert company name* titles. NXT title. ECW title. WCW title. Lucha Underground title is worst cause it simultaneously shortens and elongates the name. I just call it by it's nickname: The Aztec Gold.

So, you'd just call WWE's main championship something generic like "The "W" belt"?

I love "The Big Dub or something" Championship! So many great memories and stuff, y'know?

The 10 pounds of W also works. Funny how they made Vlad this uber-WWE fan. But when he debuted a year later, he was just stoic Russian, like they tried to copy Fedor Emilianenko.

That's really all you can do with a super serious guy. Put him in a comedy team. Pairing him with Santino was the best thing WWE could've done. Straight/crooked comedy duos are one of the few things they're good at.

What about Brodus Clay or Albert?

That was them forcing two guys from a straight man role into comedy acts. Both work better as serious dudes paired with someone naturally funny.
