In Fallout: Equestria there's a secretive order of unicorns who honor Twilight, study the secrets of magic, and retain the arcano-tech devices that Twilight made. They're not a separate species but your wording suggests something pretty similar.

 

(Besides, wouldn't alicorns fit that "ascended to a new species" why not just have an alicorn OC? Hell this is one of the few instances where that's completely justified.)

Are they pre-war or post-war order? But basically around that alley for naming.

 

Post-War, they're kind of like descendants of the Ministry of Arcane Science. Why not just use them though? Some for the whole whoever these bad guys are. They seem pretty similar to the Enclave.

 

KKat already made a pretty damn extensive world. There's little need to create wholesale things, it's better just to use what's there or fill in the blanks.

I plan to use them, now that you brought it to my attention. I just need fancy names like Artanis and Selendis now. 

 

The only thing Kkat didn't include was changelings, which are basically the main antagonists for what I'm working on.

 

Going to sleep now, hopefully I don't have writer's block tomorrow.

Well keep the naming scheme of the show intact. The member of the Twilight Society we meet during the story is named "Life Bloom." Don't go for the bizarre, esoteric names, it's still Equestria. They have names like Elder Cottage Cheese, Strawberry Lemonade, Raspberry Tart, and Radar.

If I may suggest, if you are going for a more divorced from the norm idea, why not use French loan words as names? Non de Plume or Rendezvous?

I've been getting more into writing fanfics, mainly MLP since it has such a deep pool of creativity to pull from.

I'm good with character and story concepts, so if you need help with a fanfic or something feel free to Private message me

But don't be hurt if I have to decline if I'm tapped out for a bit. Otherwise I'm fairly good at it just sometimes I have to let my mind subconsciously think of some ideas.

I had a funny idea which involved Virtue flirting with Chip, trying to make him fall in love with her just to pass the time since Virtue gets boring quite quickly. That would cause some drama, but I guess it would turn out alright in the end. It's not like Virtue is going to steal Dashia's coltfriend... Just borrow him for a while  :toldya:

It's just fun roleplay-wise. If you dont want me to do it I wont, but it's just a funny gimmick that we could throw in as we travel for a week. It's not like it's going to be anything serious.

I won't stop ya just seems kind of unfair to cause such drama when chip as a character would not accept such advances when he's taken but with speech bonuses and all that his personality would become null and void. Because virtue has sex appeal or what ever it is doesn't she?
