Would you ship ponies against their will?

Oh yes. I would make everypony fall in love with me, and then transform Equestria into my own evil empire of love!  :sneer:

But seriously, no I wouldn't. I would probably destroy the amulet, or give it to Princess Celestia.

Any problem that you may experience on this site can be solved immediately if you simply throw Fluttershy into a wood chipper.   You can trust me on this, because I'm an administrator. Would I lie?

I would also be SOARly (sorely) tempted to forced-ship Soarin and Braeburn.  So they could become...

BurnSoar!

Hell, I'd be tempted to forced-ship all stallions throughout Equestria.  Stay.  Away.  From.  The.  Mares.

That would be a serious 'no.' I wouldn't want to be forced into a relationship with anyone, and I wouldn't force such a thing on anyone; fictional or not.

As much as I do love TwiDash, I wouldn't ever force-ship them.

Why would I need to force anything when they're already so obviously in love?

...Yeah, no, I'm not quite that rabid a shipper yet. I would never mess with emotions and I wouldn't use the power even if I had it. I'm content with writing fics about them where their relationship develops 'naturally'.

I would destroy the amulet to begin with.

"Oh yeah, you say that."

I would! If there is one line in science fiction and fantasy that you don't cross, the ultimate mortal sin, it's messing with free will

"You can't destroy it!"

I'll go to stinking Mt. Doom in the literally damned steppes of Mordor to destroy this unholy thing! Failing that, launch it into a black hole!

Seriously, they made an entire episode that the OP mentioned with this very message! Lovey-dovey or not, be damned, this scenario still causes two sentient people to develop feelings for one another against their will. What logic, twisted more than a pretzel, can turn that into being good?! Not to mention the implications of the "regardless of their age or sexual orientation."

Oh, so a homophobe could "cure" all the gay and lesbian ponies of their "affliction?"

Or a pedophile could fix one of the CMC up with the Jesus Quintana pony from the Big Lebowski?

I'd think a pedophile would use that spell to draw the CMC to himself rather than give them to some grown-ass pony.

In all seriousness, I was thinking more about the alicorns with that tidbit. I'm not sure how Celestia or Luna would feel about being with a pony that's an adult, but still 1000 years younger than them.

Yeah, a homophobe would be able to do that. It's fucked up, but when you think about it, so is throwing two males or two females together just because they'd look cute.

I'd think they be fine with it. Immortal/mortal pairings are frequent in fiction.

Again though, if it's their choice!

Yeah, you encapsulated my point. This thought experiment exists in a moral vacuum! It requires two and possibly many more victims!

Probably.

I would love to see Discord and Celestia together.

My lady . . . I am surprised at you.

Regardless of their reasoning for doing it, that doesn't change the moral at the end, which is exactly that, to not dictate other ponies' lives. Plus, they're fillies. The ramifications of what they did beyond Big Mac and Cheerilee ceasing to function as normal ponies wouldn't register at that age.

of cause I would ship them
