Prism Ponies Help/Feed Back Sub Race

So I got the idea for a sub-race/ Subspecies of ponies known as the Prism Ponies, a off shoot from the Crystal Ponies  after playing around with making OC's and I kinda like the idea!  I have a loose grasp on the basics for the race and history and feedback would be a love or idea of if you want to make you'er own than go for it!  I would love to see what you post or have any feed back!

 

Prism Ponies Sub Race/Subspecies Guide Lines Loosely...

 

• Coat must be of three different colors that seem to blend to the other and nearly have a soft like glow to it.

• No black is aloud at all or pure white.

• Manes and Tails must be of two to three colors but go from a dark to light colors, sometimes they will glitter when a light hits it.

• The mane and tail shift colors to show the mood of a Prism Ponies: darker is sad and etc while bright is happy and etc moods.

• The coats of the Prism Ponies will at times cast off light in hues if hit in the right way much like a prism will when a sun ray or light hits it

• Cutie Marks can not be anything in dark of color but stand out against the fur color of the pony.

• When a Prism Pony uses any kind of magic, their cute mark will take on a soft glow around it.

• There are basic range pony races: Earth/Unicorn/Pegasuses.

• Other Races: Many other races also live in the Valley such as: Small dragons/Bat Ponies/Deer/Griffins/Sprites.

• There is a ratio of 3 females to two males in the towns.

• Prism Ponies live in one valley nearly 1500 miles away the Crystal Empire in the Blue mountain : Paradise Valley in Dream-way City n the lower part while Summer-vale town is in the upper.

• Knowing that King Sombra planned a spell to hide and take away the Crystal Empire, the Prism ponies ancestors cast a spell to hide them away in a Mist and protect them from his magic once he cast the spell, the only way the Mist would be broken is if a pure heart ruler came back to claim the throne of the Empire.

• Prism Ponies Vs the Crystal Ponies: Over the 1000 years, the Prism ponies over the generations lost the gem like texture to their coats being cut off from the Magic of the Empire but kept a touch of the magic to become like a prism in their coloring and when a ray of light would hit them.

• With the return of the Empire, the mist was cleared and Paradise Valley once more joined the world but given the Prism Ponies have ruled themselves by used a elected council of ponies/different races that changed every 6 years are now seeking to be recognize as their own small kingdom given they have their ways and culture.

Sorry, it might just be me, but I don't like this Idea. I don't think there needs to be any other races. But that's just me.

smooth, marble-like coat. It's up to you whether this means them being made out of something like marble, or if their coats are just that way. The texture will keep them tied to the crystal ponies but still make them stand out. pale colors as opposed to vibrant ones. Pale colors will set them off from the crystal ponies, who are vibrant colors. Most of the ponies in the show are fairly vibrant colors, so a race of ponies that are pale will definitely stand out. Especially when their coats reflect light as a prism of colors.

 

I will use it a bit,  the pale coats might work given what you said a bit pale colors in some might throw in a good loop and free area for people to have fun in a bit! The "smooth, marble-like coat"  reminds me of perhaps "glossy"  could work in thoughts of something of stained glass?

 

 

 

You may have noticed I used the words "stand out" a lot. This is because original content that stands out is more likely to catch artist's eyes, whether they be writers or illustrators. The more artists you have attached to your race, the farther it will spread! As I said earlier, these are just ideas, you don't have to use them. I'm looking forward to seeing this race develop!

 

I put these into my sub notes to use Ness and thanks for the feed back!  Still working on a few things and going to do a research on a few areas like "magic" and other things!    I like the words: stand out!"

Glossy could work as well! I thought a marble texture would be a good idea to make their coats a little more detailed, but glossy would do the job just as well. I'd avoid stained glass though. That might make them too similar to crystal ponies, or make it hard to tell the difference

 

I think "glossy" would work a bit just I'll try it now the line when I work out more details!    Marble might work a bit but too!   Thanks for the ideas Ness! Still working on ideas and changing around the towns/cities and how to make them stand out....

So re-did a Prism Pony a bit given the feed back I got a bit (thanks Ness) and redid the hair a bit and the eyes,  some of lighter colors might work a bit. Yet given also sometimes the Light colors might not always work,  I'm still playing around with ideas but I think of making their colors change given their mood a bit,  not just their mane/tails!  Feed back is loved!

 

Did use lighter colors this time around and given this pony is sad,  her tail is changing darker in tone to show this while her mane is still a bit bright in color! Redid the eyes into three colors and I like the jewel effect it seems to have and hues!

One more Prism Done!   @, your advice really help me out a bit! Doing a bit more  a "glossy" seems to be getting some good feedback on DA,  I plan on redoing the "guide lines/history" a bit!

Relationships/Matting

1. It is common place and accept that males and females may mate with their own sex.

2.Now given due to be cutting off from the world, there is a limited number of male to female matting that can happen before crossing of the bloodlines would happen.

3. Magic spells came to be made in which would allow same sex mating to have their own children, taking the energy/bio essence to make a new life but only if the matting is true! Know as “Seeds of Love”, these new lives are welcomed!

Star-Watchers

1. Star-watchers tend to be ponies who well, watch the movement of stars of the night sky and also hear their music from the heavens. These patterns are used for planting crops/ceremonies/meetings on days and when even to do types of magic and spells.

2. Star-Watchers are chosen by a older watcher who test fillies and colts by hitting a glass bell, those who can hear the ring of the bell can also hear the music of the stars while others who can't don't.

3. They are not removed from their families once found to have the gift in often the Teacher moves close and the students over a course of six years are taught how to listen/use star light magic/play out the songs of the stars/and mark down the days and patterns.

4. Normally it is one of the few positions in the Prism Ponies that tend not to mate but take lovers given the stars call is too strong on the the ponies soul but it is rare for a Star-Watcher to find a mate.

5. The gift of the “stella” ranges in all pony races of the three and not passed down in bloodlines.

6. Watchers also worship a night goddess known as: Hecate. Also so do many ponies along with many other goddess and gods but that is for a different time...

Foals/Colts/Fillies

1. New borns when born tend to be darker at birth and as they grow up in a filly/colt stage the coat will lighten and take on a soft like sheen.

2. In colors, they will take a color from both parents and the coats lighen as they get older and taken out more of the “glossy” like sheen the Prism Ponies are known for at this time, one thing that is different is Prism Ponies tend to earn their cutie marks some what later in life than other ponies.

3. The Prism's get their cutie mark in the age range of 15 to early 20's depending on the pony and they are not pushed or urge to find their talent or let it say what they have to do in life. Their talent is seen as part of them, not all of them.

Yah,  and also if people want to make their own lets them have a bit more room to work with over all!  Just cause a unicorn say has a talent for magic,  they can still choose to be a farmer or a clerk or even a sky diver! The talent is just part of them,  not the over all job or type of pony they will be!

So true. I got to choose what i wanted in life.Though my candy job didn't hold for long, i enjoyed it.

Nice!  Wish I could choose my job in life but I'll keep working on my Prism Ponies for now!
