gaming Favorite gen in Pokemon?

I'd say Generation 1 is my favorite, mainly because it's the generation I grew up with as a kid, I watched the first season of Pokemon and played the old Pokemon Gameboy games like Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Blue. I do like all the other generations though, and like seeing all the different types of Pokemon created.

Gen 5 for story and the introduced Pokémon, Gen 6 and likely progressive generations to come for gameplay- been playing Pokémon since the beginning and with every game it gets better and better imo... hard to go back to previous gens for me personally. :squee:

I gotta go with Gen 4, my legacy with Pachirisu-kun was simply magnificent... Uhm, that aside I spend a lot of time playing Gen4 and there's nothing bad I can say about it really. Also I seemed to have gotten the worst shinies possible in random encounters... xD

I also remember stupid 7yr old me playing Crystal. In that bug competition where I wanted to win for once, I caught a Pink Metapod, not knowing that was possible, never seen any shinies or knew what they were. I got 2nd place, was really mad I didn't win and restarted... Why was I so stupid back then?!?! When I told my classmates about my epic encounter they wouldn't believe me I've seen a Pink Metapod... everybody thought I had lied. Q_Q

It would be Generations 1 and 2 for me, because i have a lot of memories playing Yellow and Crystal versions on my Gameboy aswell as watching the Anime. Also Generation 2 had the ability to go back to the Kanto region and had Day/Night gameplay which was magnificent. I did like the Hoenn region a lot too, i played a lot of Yellow, Crystal and Emerald versions when i was younger.

I do like all the Generations though.

inb4 genwunners

Anyways, my favorite generation is the fourth gen. I played the hell out of Diamond, and Soul Silver with my friends and that gen brings back a lot of good memories. The fifth gen was pretty fun too though. I remember really enjoying the plot of Black/White (2). In the end though, all of the generations are awesome and each improves upon the last.

My favorite generation is the first one red/blue/green, I'm a big fan of the first 150 pokemon and not so much the others that appeared after them. My favorite pokemon changes once in awhile but I currently like Machoke. I also like Team Rocket as villians compared to the other teams.

First generation is my favourite, when Pokemon was brand new, there were 150 Pokemon, until Togapi, Mew, Merril and Snubble, were introduced in a new episode and Pokemon The First Movie, nevertheless, this is where Pokemon had their start, as trading cards and Nintendo games, so the nostalgia and simplicity, is what keeps me grounded for the first gen, plus I feel the fewer the Pokemon, the greater share of affection.

This is a difficult choice but I would say a tie between the 1st and 3rd gens, with gen 2 being close behind. Both give me tons of nostalgia but I love the selection of Pokemon is gen 1 better and the extra features in gen 3 (secret bases for the win). Sadly I just don't feel like the new remakes did the original games justice, to me at least.

I have been doing a mini-Nuzlocke run on Fire Red recently and that has been quite fun. Nidoking is a beast in that game.

Gen II. Gold, Silver, and Crystal added so much to the game, from new types (Steel and Dark), fixed some of the balance issues of Gen I, gave us Pokemon breeding, was a direct sequel to Gen I while adding more Pokemon and letting us collect 16 badges, a fight with RED!, and they were the first Pokemon games in FULL! BLOWN! COLOR! (it was a big deal at the time alright)

Gen 2 is best gen! I don't mean to brag or anything, but I caught a shiny Gyarados at the lake of rage
