gaming Can a female Cloudcuckoolander protagonist work in a video game?

When a female character is the main protagonist of a video game, it tends to be the grown, adult woman type like Lara Croft or Bayonetta. But what if there was a female protagonist in a game who wasn't like that? Like a zany, bubbly girl who follows her own logic, and is naive, quirky, random, and optimistic. Someone who's like Pinkie Pie or Mabel Pines only isn't. Can a character like this work in a game?

I think any kind of character can work in a game as long as they're written well and fleshed out enough.

Same as everyone else has posted, any character can work.

I'd give the same advice for writing this kind of character as writing any character.

1. Start with a spectrum. Draw a line, and write on one end the character's biggest flaw. On the other end, write their greatest strength.

2. Add character traits. These can be strengths or weaknesses, or just things about the character (such as favorite food).

3. And I can't stress this enough: How do they interact with other characters? Are they dependent on someone? Does someone depend on them? Are they allowed to make big decisions? Etc.

Three words for you. Super Princess Peach.

While Peach may be an adult, she is very childish in this game.

So,yeah it could work. I'd personally enjoy more quirky characters like that.

From what I've seen, Juliet seems more like an idiot hero, than a Pinkie Pie or Mabel Pines.

Having played the game myself, I'd say she fits the bill fairly well.

As for having a Cloudcuckoolander protagonist, it depends on what kind of game it is
