request Any one know any free music making programs/software?

I've all ways wanted to make music on my laptop but I don't know any programs/software so I was hoping some one could help me with it I have a 2.16 gh centrino duel core 4 gb ram and a 7200 rpm hdd. I have 18 gb left on my hdd and I think I can clear another 9 gb.

I would reccommend Caustic3. Its a powerful yet simple to use program for PC, Mac, iOS and Android. It even has MIDI song import and MIDI/wav export to your pc. You can also use an external keyboard and mic. Im pretty sure it only costs £3.59 in the Google PLAY Store, and theres a free demo too. You should really try it.

It depends what kind of sound you're working with.

 

If you want to make music from scratch, especially modern Rap or Electronica, Fruity Loops is the best for PC. Although its not initially free, you can most likely pirate it from somewhere.

 

For Mac, Logic Pro is a must, it may require quite a few YouTube tutorials, and its not free either, there are still plenty of free sources to download it from. This is the most professionally used for most any music.

 

You won't find much quality in the Free section of Programs, but if you have the money to spare, support the developers. They worked hard to make these awesome programs!

I think I was thinking of fully making the music in the program no recording at all, and also I think what I was looking for was midi bassed but realy just some thing to mess around with but thanks.
