My First MLP Drawing

Hello!

This is my first drawing of ANYTHING MLP related after using a guide.

However, I still feel like it sucks big time, so I need your opinions.

I need all kinds of reviews! Good or bad, harsh or gentle, 10/10 or -20/10, I need it all.

This is the picture in question.

I know, it is awful...

EDIT: I used this thingy to learn on how to draw this: http://affinitypony.deviantart.com/art/The-Pony-Drawing-Guide-for-Everypony-2nd-Ed-441975093

They are not awful, but i would advise you to look into practicing basic shapes mainly spheres because that could be really helpfull on drawing ponies.(Especially because that's how their body is made up.)

Also basic shapes in 3d space, to have a sence of depth, scales and structure. The good thing in ponies is that their structure is relaively simple, it's just circles mainly, and beside the basic shapes, after you get yourself familiar with the cornerstones of their anatomy, you can start applying your own touch/style to it.

Also, you can start copying other people's artwork too, it also helps you understand how things look etc. . (But do not claim copies made for practicing porpuses as your own creations.)

For a first time drawing, you got somewhat close to the basic shapes.

However, I recommend practicing drawing with existing pictures, using them as a reference, to try to get comfortable with the proportions and design. Early on, try to trace them as closely as possible. Then, try to rely on the reference image less and less as you get better at understanding the pony design and structure.

Do you not see the donkey ears, the weird muzzle, and the bottle leg?

I see the "donkey ears," but look again - surround those ears with a regular pony mane and forelock, and suddenly they won't look so big.  Truth is, MLP FIM ponies do have big ears.  The Funko pony toys have ginormous ears!  As for the "bottle leg," it's not that far off.  Did you expect perfection on a first try?  The muzzle is a bit long, but look at the pony I did yesterday:

This pony has big ears too, but I think they don't look as big as yours because they have mane and forelock around them.  She has "no bones" in her front legs, her left fore-hoof is too small, her muzzle is long, and not turned up as much as a show-accurate pony.  Her eye is a bit small, and I'm sure others will have noticed other flaws.  I've been drawing horses for sixty years, but this is my first free-hand shot at an MLP FIM pony.

The next one will be better.  And so will yours.

Funny thing you mention that. I already drew a second drawing.

Also, I did put a mane on the pony. Do you not see the pony head underneath the model?
