I was thinking that Scarlett could appear in the exit room of the strange tunnel ruins. Next post, Wilhelm finds two doors, and behind one of them, he sees the sun. Opening it, he sees a hole in the ceiling, but lying on the ground under it is Scarlett. Someone talks to her, and they figure out that she isn't from around here, so they take her back to Caramel to decide what to do with her.

 

Just my two cents. I wanted it to be two doors so that the whole crew could go adventuring in the ruins later; perhaps we'll find our first plotload of treasure.
