Brad Sucks

Brad Sucks is the stage name of Brad Turcotte, an indie musician from Ottawa, Ontario.

He has promoted his music over the internet, allowing it to be freely copied and shared.

 

I find his languid singing voice interesting, and his music catchy, even though I often can't figure out what the lyrics mean. Magnatune describes his style as "brilliantly sardonic indie rock." Because he allows his music to be redistributed, I was able to legally torrent all of his albums (I unfortunately have no way to pay for them right now.) Interestingly enough, I found out about him because he allows his music to be shared. I heard a song of his at the end of a Linux Action Show podcast.

 

Has anyone else heard of this indie musician? If you have, what are your thoughts on him, his music style, and his unique publicity/distribution method?
