Anti-Bronies watching Anime MLP

What if anyone recreated an MLP episode as an anime?

All characters made as humans, and the colors and general style would be normalized and look like a regular anime.

However the story, plot and moral would still be in place. Everything would be identical in that regard.

 

EDIT: The characters and setting doesn't have to reveal what it's based off. It could be different looking characters in a different looking town, but the morals and story would remain the same.

 

Now, what if an anti-brony watched this and liked it, not knowing what it was based on. What would that mean? 

 

The sad thing is that I think more people would enjoy it, actually giving it a chance before dismissing it.

What's your thoughts about this?

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the anti-bronies watched it, liked it, and couldn't point out the obvious similarities between the ponies and the pictures you just provided. Most of the time, they can't even make heads or tails of anything from the MLP franchise they oppose.

No, this happens. My somewhat anti-brony freind does not like the show, but can't stop watching anime versions of it. Diffrence between him and your idea is that he knows that the characters, story and world is just a diffrent version of a show he dosent like!

Would totally work out fine.  I would totally watch that.

 

The thing holding MLP back (outside of it's "intended" demographic) is mostly the stigma.  People are already super creeped out by furries (unjustifiably in my opinion) and the show's got a good 30 year super, Super, SUPER girly rep attached to it.

 

It's bouncing back pretty well though, all things considered.  Much better then other things from older media (I'm looking at you Super Friends Aquaman)

Well, personally I don't "believe" in "targeting", I believe in quality, and everyone regardless of age, sex or nationality should expect quality.

Now with that said, that doesn't help much in the real world, and I get what you are saying.

 

However, the traditional childish and girly targeting methods are few in MLP. If you take away the things I said in this post, then you basically end up with a slice of life anime. Which has nothing to do with girls or kids.

Anyway, its not the content of the show that causes problems, its the target demographic. As long as people see men watching a show for little girls, we will get trolled.

Well, even art is "targeted" towards a particular demographic. It dosn't mean that you have to cater to the lowest common denominator, but it is pretty much just a numbers game at that level. You don't expect every High Arts Major to appreciate a graphic novel, and you don't expect every child to fully appreciate The Mona Lisa (other master-pieces are available). But I don't doubt that many anti-bronies would enjoy "My Hypothetical Anime: Theorizing is Magic".

I think this would be a really neat experiment, actually.  I bet a lot more people would like it, without the stigmas attached to it, which would prove how asinine the prejudice and hatred really is.

I would love an anime from mlp, i cant draw ponyd but anime is fine but if antie-bronies like anime mlp, it just makes them bronies. Being a bronie does not mean you like ponys but you like the show and the story, and not the fact the caracters are ponys, humans, rabbits, crocodiles or every other creature in the world

I think the Powerpuff Girls also had an anime version. If they made something like that for My Little Pony it would most definitely work because the Mane 6 could make really good anime characters and it would be like Equestria Girls only much better.
