web Too many effects on AMV's these days

I have seen so many amv's go down in flames because of the overuse of too many effects, these range from strobing images(these could cause seizures), to changing colors. This has gotten so bad, i had given up on watching them. But today i found a gem that is the perfect example of how to do a amv correctly, and here it is:

 

 

I want to see more like this and not others who try and be flashy when its not needed, what are your most hated thing done in AMV's?

I don't like AMVs in general.

Usually, many of them I've seen look like there was no effort put into them, as in the music was just placed over some clips of a cartoon, regardless of whether it fits together or not.

I like a lot of effects as long as it doesn't get too obnoxious.

 

However one thing I don't like is when someone gets like 360p footage for an AMV to use, or when they just place a music track over a scene and call it an AMV. It takes effort, that's not effort.

People like them this way, while some don't; one person doesn't determine if everyone likes it or not. But i do respect your thought on the topic.

Its the ones that use strobe effects that kill it for me. They're all the same thing regardless; scenes taken from a show, and music just added for effect. If you were to do too much, people will grill you for it.
