Dax looked his companion in the eye.  "I know who you are.  I've heard the name, I've heard the tales... I was aware of what you were capable of when I saw you in-..."

 

He looked up at Chaotic and his eyes went wide.  "YOU!  You were the one in my dream!  You're... you're REAL!?"

 

Looking back & forth between the two, Dax seemed to be trying to figure things out - but was having difficulty doing so.

 

"... o-kaaaaaaay... so, you're real?  I'm... well, I'm..."  He shrugged.  "I'm at a loss, here.  You sent me here, right?  So where the heck are we headed NOW?"

"Well duh i gave you the dreams silly, and where do we go we go to a villains base and steal some blueprints for a dooms day device so Fear can't make another one, from there you can choose to join me or not" Chaotic said smiling at both of them,

Rave thought for a while. "Tell us, why should we join you? You are offering us to join you, but how will it benefit us? What do we get in return?". Rave still had the horn of Sombra, that held an immense amount of dark magic that regenerated itself. "Also, who's side are we really on?".

"we are on nopony's side only our own, if you choose to join me i can make a clean slate for both of you. no family names can dictate others perception of you both, past crimes forgiven and why should you join me well i already gave you a couple reasons." Chaotic said with a smile.

"Okay everypony we're mere ten feet away from the base so get ready."Scare said to the others.

Banner got the device ready as well as her other weapons "Dramatic when we get in use your magic to restrain anypony that gets to close throw them away or something as long as were not overwhelmed we will be ok, Buzz you will scout out the area for where everything is like Fears room and where the doomsday device is, Fracture you me, dramatic and Scare will be the main party Everest will help all of us to break are way in and all are jobs will be to protect Everest got it?" she spat out orders to the group "lets do this!"

"okay you heard Banner so get ready for combat, because once in we will be under fire from weapons so check your surroundings at all times and remember to stay close to Everest he is our ticket into the base. also be on the look out for Heart she will possibly try to attack you so if she does call me and Dramatic and we will deal with her. we move in ten," Scare said to the group setting Everest down.

"Ok, two things first:" Buzz said quickly before everyone set off. "First, if im looking for the device, what am i actually looking for? And secondly" he said as he turned to Banner. "Im going to need a wepon for if things get 'out of hoof.' So what have you still git in your bags?"

Banner gives Buzz a bunch of knifes she still had "there is only 20 so don't waste them all got it?" she said then thought a bit about the first question "its probably a giant machine that looks obvious to anypony that see's it, am I right scare?" she asked wanting to know

"Wait... I think that you all should note that I am an absolutely terrible fighter, and these should remind well." Fracture says, pulling on his bandages, then wincing. "Ow; that is definitely blood stuck to my fur." He sighs; "So... I probably shouldn't do that, but I can't decide on much if we're going in ten seconds."

"yes that is exactly what it looks like,"Scare said somewhat sarcastically with a frown. "it actually looks like a giant crystal with a heart inside. Fracture you will basically point out targets and other this you will just be a warning system, no combat."

"So is there a certain way of destroying it, or do i just punch it till it breaks?" Buzz asked, a little sarcasm in his voice for the second half of the sentence. "Cause, I way be strong but i can't lift a massive crystal from here to there on my back whilst avoiding them! This job would be better suited for a unicorn." As he finished that line his face turned into a frown and his voice deepened and turned into almost a whisper "But we all saw how that ended last time!"

"That's good." Fracture responds to Scare; "So, assuming that you will lead and face the way that we are travelling, it would be helpful to assign names to eight directions because it could save vital time. They would be A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H." He points in each of the directions as he lists them.

"and are compos like think would be Everest's direction" she agreed with Fracture then turned to Buzz "Dramatic it nothing like Rave, and your scouting out places with means you will tell us what directions there in we go over there and destroy it ok? also Fracture you could be are spotting turret or something on Everest's head" she paused and cracked her neck "everyone got your jobs? good now lets go!"

Rave thought for a while. "So nopony will judge me anymore for being a Darkmane anymore? Everypony will stop harassing me? Then I will gladly join, however, I will have you know, I am not afraid of killing anypony. If anypony gets in my way, when I am trying to complete a mission, I will rip them to shreds, unless stealth is vital. Also...... there might be some scores I have to settle with some specific ponies" he said the last words with a bit of disgust.

Dax looked at Chaotic, considering her offer.  He then glanced over at Rave, shrugged, and turned beck to the little flying mare.

 

"Well, I've already come this far... what's a few more miles or so?"  He sighed, looking out across the expanse & seeing that there would be far more miles to go than physical ones... but, why the heck not?  All there was for him back home was more of the same drudgery...

 

"Alright, then - it's settled, I suppose.  I'm fairly certain we can just keep following the path I saw in-... that YOU sent me in my dreams."

 

Looking at Rave, he stated, "It'd be good to have somepony along, too.  Shall we?"

 

He began to trot, keeping an even pace so that he wouldn't wear himself out.  He had a bad feeling about this...

"I don't often travel with anypony. I sometimes join a group of ponies, help them out with their adventures. However, traveling with just one pony is really rare, as I am then just busy exploring Equestria". He started to follow. "But that doesn't mean I won't" he chuckled. The horn of Sombra was levitated out of his saddle bag and he but the chain around his neck, wearing the horn as a necklace. It fit perfectly.

"Okay you do what you got to do." Chaotic said to Rave then followed the others by flying lazily behind them. ignoring the severed unicorn horn around Raves neck.

"Is everypony ready because once we go in there is no coming out until that machine is destroyed." Scare asked one more time to make sure.

Dax looked over at the horn around Rave's neck.  He lifted an eyebrow quizzically.

 

"Ummmm... it might not be my business, but is that some kind of magic-talisman-type-deal-thing?" 

 

He gave the necklace an appraising look.  "Did you... make that?  Looks old; usually means powerful.  Of course," he added, "like I said, it might not be my business."

 

Dax gave a small half-grin.  "Looks nifty, though."  He leaned back over his shoulder & took a green apple from the sack and started munching away.

"Find massive crystal wepon, signal you guys, break it!" Buzz said to the group. "I'm ready when you are." Buzz then sat there, looking at the ponies in the group and their weird facial expressions towards him. "Oh, right. I'm ment to go ahead of you guys, right. Well, good luck and try not to die." Buzz then flew around the corner looking for a way to sneak into the base.

"The horn is from my master. From my leader. From my king, the rightful king of the Crystal Empire. It is not just old, it is filled with dark magic..... don't touch it. It was given to me as a part of a deal". Some energy started to float from it towards Rave horn as Rave was feeding a little bit from it to numb the dark magic addiction.

"Master?  You have a-..."  He paused, trying to take in this information.  His face took on a few comical twists as he seemed to be trying to figure it out, then he just sighed & shook his head.

 

"Well, as long as you're happy with it, I guess it can't be all that bad, right?  Kinda looks to me like a magical canteen; you sure it's safe for you to use that?"  He quickly added, "Not saying you don't know how to... just kinda... sort of... I mean, it's not causing you any... any harm, right?"

 

Dax gave a worried glance... then seemingly shook it off.  He shrugged.

 

"Well, I'm fairly certain you know what you're doing.  Guess I just worry about... well, about..."  Dax started to finish the sentence, then bit it back.  "Eh, I worry too much.  Kinda stupid for me to, I know."

 

Don't say you're worried about him, Dax, he thought, he's probably got friends who already worry enough; you're just an addled pony who got caught up in a dream.  He wouldn't want you as a friend, anyway - NO ONE would.

 

"So, hey - you want another apple? Chaotic, howzabout you?"

 

He did his best to seem non-chalant.

"nah i ate already besides we're almost there anyway," Chaotic answered flying upside-down in front of them. "so that's king Sombra's horn right. didn't he get blown to pieces, also that deal you made with Fear is kinda void." Chaotic's necklace glowed and the horn around Rave's neck appeared in her hooves, she  inspected it then started laughing.

Rave immediately lashed out against Chaotic. "You little worthless gnat. I won't work for someone who steals from me and tries to belittle me or the ones I serve. You are nothing but a little chess piece in a big game. Return the horn, or I leave and you can expect me to go against you".

"Whoa whoa WHOA, there!  Chaotic, it doesn't matter if that... thing... is what you say it is... it's NOT yours; it belongs to Rave.  Please give it back, huh?"

 

Dax held out a hoof, pointing at Rave.  "You want us with you, right?  C'mon, then... this ain't the time to play magic games."

 

He looked Chaotic in the eyes, trying to reason with the little filly.

 

"... please?"

"sorry but why do you want this? because i know for a fact this is a fake a pretty good one at that, and before you ask how do i know this because i know who has the real one and there is no way to get it." Chaotic said to Rave."also i am not little, Dax." Chaotic then tossed the horn back to Rave.

"Okay lets move." Scare said as Everest began to grow, once at 300 ft he started towards the mountain with Fracture on top of his head, Scare and Dramatic followed Everest
