Rave looked at Chaotic and took that which she passed him. "Is that all we came for?" he started following Chaotic. "And where did that Earth-Pony go? Why did he have to wander off alone?" he looked around, searching for Dax, trying to spot the Earth-Pony. "Where is he"?

Dax made his way down the corridor, listening for the sounds of chaos.  After all, he was told there were other ponies here - though how far he could trust them left to be seen, if Rave was any indicator.  He stayed ready for action, but he kept quiet.

 

"...love you too."  Dax heard voices, and moved that way swiftly.  "We are not here to talk, Fear; prepare for battle." 

 

FEAR!?  Holy hotcakes, I was just trying to find where the trouble was... BUT NOT THAT MUCH TROUBLE! 

 

"Now, now... no need to rush to your own demise, Scare."  

 

There was the sound of rapid action, followed by a fierce WHAM! from what sounded like a hard impact.  He made his way over to the doorway closest to the noise, and peeked inside.

Fracture hits the wall with a decent amount of force, but is not seriously hurt, after all of the times that he had fallen off of things. He lies on the ground, staying there, and weakly says, "Look, Fear; I've found a wall. It hurt, so I think that I'll just stay over here. Also, you seem to have misinterpreted what I'd said about hating you, because I clearly do not love you."

Banner gets up quickly as she can "you know other than talents everypony has there is magic in every earth pony that manifests into a almost super power like ability, if you want to see mine then come at me you horse F@#%er!" she yells at Fear trying to get his attention away from the others as she readies her knifes and bombs

Fracture decides not to mention that technically, almost all of them are probably horse f***ers, unless they are lonely like he is. Instead, he quietly slides along the floor to get a close look at the nearby machine, already searching for ways to deactivate it as Buzz is not evident of being near.

Fear looked at Banner and laughed "Boy do you have a mouth little lady, and Fracture i could care less what you think of me." Fear then quickly grabs Fracture and tosses him away from the Machine."that was not a very smart idea, to approach the machine," Fear suddenly was hit by Scare sending her several feet.

"you want a fight you fight me." Scare said as she charges at Fear who in turn charges back making a loud booming sound as they collided.

Chaotic appeared behind Dax ,"What are you doing? We need to leave now." She whispers to Dax.

Rave is with Chaotic and sees the others. He starts to boil. His features start to change as he activates his dark magic. "Just a little bit of fun. 1 pony against many, seems hardly fair. Let's make it a bit more interesting and more.... fair...". He conjures forth about 30 shadow like creatures, using the horn to fuel him. He points and they seem to attack the rest. "That should keep the a bit occupied" he said madly. 

 

(Will edit if DM so wishes).

Dax looked over his shoulder at Chaotic.

 

"Huh?  I'm watching these other..." he began, then he noticed Rave surrounded by that magical glow.  He began to ask what was going on, then he heard the battle behind him pick up the pace.  He peeked back into the door and, seeing the shadow creatures at their work, he turned back to Rave.

 

"Those were the ponies giving you a hard time?"  He glanced into the room, taking note of each cutie mark for later.

 

Just in case we should meet, it would be good to know who was involved.  

 

Dax looked back, then nodded.  "Okay.  I guess I'm..."  no good to anyone after all, he thought, as suspected.

 

"... I'm ready.  Whatever's next, let's go."

 

He waited for orders; being bossed about was better than being alone, anyhow.

Buzz had now made it to the throne room. The guard who had escorted him hear had gone to help handle Everest. As Buzz approached the door he heard a large thud and then Scares voice. "Oh shit" Buzz let out to himself. He then proceeded to sprint the last 40 meters to the doors and open them as slowly as he could in an attempt not to be noticed by those in the room. Then he saw what was happening. Fear was stalling, and if that was the case then the device hadn't got long till it would activate, and their equestria was gone. Buzz stayed in the shadows, trying not to be seen. Then he witnessed Fracture get thrown across the room. Fracture was the second most likely of the entire group to know how to destroy that thing, next to Scare. However, her and Banner looked like they were distracted enough. Buzz needed to help Fracture with the machine, but he also felt compelled to help fight Fear as that was what he did before all this, fight the bad guys. Then he thought of a way to help both sides. Buzz took the 2 smoke bombs from earlier and threw them: One at Fracture to hide him and one and Fear to take away her vision. When they had both detonated, Buzz ran towards Fracture and, with his help, walked Fracture through the smoke and towards the machine.

After seeing how much time remains on the seemongly mathematically incorrect clock, Fracture begins to panic, and is about to attempt charging for the machine when a smoke bomb detonates. He realises who had thrown it when Buzz begins to help him, and he whispers, "That is the most amazing timing that I have ever seen." He then gets to the machine and tries to remove the metal plates protecting it, noticing that they are screwed in, so he hastily pulls a correctly sized metal piece from his leg, hoping to rebuild it later with valuable pieces from this machine, then removes the screws, and opens the machine. He first looks intently at the timer mechanism to see what it is connected to, and finds the connected mechanical-magical interactive element near the crystal, and checks all of the possibilities in his mind before attempting to remove it.

"come on fear you know you want to punch this face, oh wait your to much of a puss to do it I forgot" she was saying all of this in the most insulting voice she could make "come on then bring it on, lets go, lets do this" she was speaking like the bullies she knew from her younger years, want to fight them but have then strike first

[Scare Effect 312]

Fear knocked Scare away and turned toward Banner Flashing a smile as she closed the distance between her and Banner, then kicked Banner with enough force to knock her through the wall.

Scare saw this and was enraged with thinking Banner is dead (not really dead). Charged at Fear and caught her by surprise knocking Fear to the ground and began pommeling her with all her strength. Fear passed out from the pain.

Dramatic saw the shadow ponies and summoned spikes that impaled all the shadow ponies in the room.

Scare got off of Fear and walked over to the machine. TIME LEFT 1:00 0:59... seeing this Scare realized what must be done. going over to the wall Banner went through she found Banner was alive, turning to Buzz, Fracture, and her sisters."you all must leave the base now!" Scare said to them. picking up Banner and handing her over to Broken Heart.

"But sis..." Broken Heart started but was cut off by Scare.

"GO!" Scare yelled.

Dramatic Grabbed Fracture, Buzz, and Broken Heart and and teleported away.

Chaotic grabbed the two ponies and teleported them three miles from the base.

0:45, 0:44...Scare races toward the machine and grabs it, then begins to focus and started to absorb the magic in the machine.0:25, 0:24 Scare focused on her friends and family. 0:15 Scare remembers Banner confessing her feelings to her. 0:05 Scare begins to cry.....4......3......2........1.......0.THE Device detonates

Having thought through every possible danger that he could, Fracture confidently slices the wires connecting the activator and the mechanical-magical interactive element. He sighs with relief as the machine shuts down instead of activating or exploding. Then, he removes both of those conponents and the timer for extra safety, and takes all of the valuable pieces from the machine that he can possibly carry, a jackpot in his opinion, so that he can rebuild his hoof like never before. He slowly trots to scare and says, "I did it... but now my everything hurts."

"what Fear didn't know was that the magic manifested all into my bones" she said with her eyes closed and heard the sound of an explosion but it didn't destroy everything "Scare...thank you" she said to her self then fell right to sleep

Rave was furious. Dramatic had made a big mistake in Rave's eyes. He was going to remember that insult. She was added to his death list: Dramatic, Scare, Buzz and Fracture.... out of Scare's team. He had a lot more that he wanted dead. But he would save that, he knew that revenge would be his in time. He looked at Chaotic, his face red with anger. "This is where we part ways, I have to visit my brother. Join his rebellion as the mongrel Buzz will probably be alerting the Celestial government of my presence". He looked at Drax. "Pleasure meeting you" he bowed "but like everypony else I meet" "except for one" he thought. "I say goodbye to them in the end and part ways with them, never to see them again. I will head in my own direction. I have had enough of these setbacks. It is time that I enhance my dark magic, dive deeper into it, let it fully consume me.... so that I gain full mastery over it and then everypony will tremble. Farewell". With that, he departed.

Dax stood there for a moment, shellshocked.  He watched Rave walk off into the distance, wanting to call after him, but afraid of what would be said.

 

That... that's it?  That's IT!?  All that trotting to get here, the nonsense with my dream, the hope that I'd... find a...

 

Dax slowly turned to Chaotic, calm on his face, but anger in his eyes.

 

"Okay.  All right.  I get it.  All for nothing, right?  The dream was nothing but a sham, just to get me here to... well, to feel useless.  Fine."  Dax turned and began to walk away slowly.

 

"I'm used to it, anyway."  He trotted off, his heart aching, but his face showed nothing.

 

Dax walked a bit, and began to think about things.  He began to ruminate about what all had happened, about Chaotic, about the things he had seen on the trip, about Rave...

 

Did he say he was going to let the dark magic fully consume him?

 

Dax stopped.  He glanced into the distance, toward the direction Rave had headed off into.

 

I'll get yelled at for sure.  It's crazy; don't even think about it.  There's nothing you'd be able to do, anyway.  You'd be in the way... again...

 

Dax began to slowly change his course, his path becoming parallel with Rave's tracks.

 

Stop this foolishness.  Go back to your tent & forget this stupid idea.  Don't waste your time.

 

Dax kept going.

 

WHAT THE HECK!?  WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO BACK WHERE YOU BELONG?  WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING A PONY WHO MIGHT END UP BEING ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS THREATS TO EQUESTRIA THAT EVER EXISTED!?

 

"... because.  Just because."  

 

Besides, Rave didn't seem to have many ponies on his side.  He was brash, arrogant, egotistical, jaded and somewhat psychotic... but Dax thought he wasn't bad company.  Of course, Dax's only comparison was his own family, and compared to them, Rave was a sugary-sweet pony.  Well, maybe not when he got all... scary... but, just the same, Dax kept going.

 

He pulled a green apple from his pack & munched it absent-mindedly as he followed the hoofprints of a pony he barely knew over the horizon.

"It's over" Buzz said as he looked towards the horizon where a cloud of smoke could be seen, tear in his eye. "It's all over now." Buzz took off the helmet he was wearing and put it to his chest as a sign of respect towards Scare who had sacrificed her own life for the rest of the groups. Buzz then undid the straps on the rest of the armour and weapons and walked off in the direction of appaloosa, not even saying goodbye to the others, his held held down in disappointment. "*sigh* lets get this over with then."

 

6 days later

 

Buzz now sat in an office, wearing his celestial guard armour. The office was filled with medals and pictures relating to past wars  and the propaganda posters he had seen in the recruitment offices back when he had left school. In front of him was a muscular, blue unicorn who was chewing on gum. This wasn't Buzz's office, this was the commanders. "So" he spoke. "How did your mission go? Did you find what I'd sent you out to get?" His tone both serious and threatening at the same time. Buzz sat there still, being careful of what he said for two reasons: He was talking to his 'boss' and the fact that there were two armed guards in his blind spot behind him. He didn't respond. "*sigh* You know Buzz, a lot has changed since you left for your, 'mission'. A pause between the last two words of that sentence. The commander was now standing next to a glass case containing his war medals. "Your parents moved house. They still live in Manehatten, just in a nicer part of the city now." Buzz eyes widened at the mentioning of his loved ones. He knew what was happening; he was being threatened. he stood his ground though. "Most your friends are doing the same as they did before you left: Bit is still into his technology, Tackle is still a bouncer at that club and Speed is still, well being Speed. that's how you'd put it. 'Speed being Speed.' But you don't want to hear about them do you. It's Hits you want to know about." Buzz stayed still, trying not to seem intimidated, even if his heart was beating 10 times faster than it should at the mention of her name. "Well, hits' is still in college, going for the next level up in her music degree. She passed her last level with an A*. Can you believe that?" Buzz's face stayed still, despite the commanders face being opposite him, only 10 cm away from his, looking for any sign of weakness. But there was none. A scowl came to the old unicorns face as he returned to his chair, looking like he had given up. then his scowl turned into a sinister grin. "And your brother, Little Kicker, made it into the Canterlot hoofball team. I'll tell you something, that kid is going to go far, as long as nothing bad happens to him that is." That was it, Buzz had cracked. Every instinct, every muscle urged him to punch the unicorn in the face and take the consequences. Buzz used all the strength in his body to get out of the chair he was in and, walk over to a map of equestria on the wall. He pointed to a small town on the edge of the map, the town where this all started. "There" Buzz finally spoke. "That's where your oil is at!" Buzz had been defeated, but like he had told Banner, there was nothing he wouldn't do for his family, especially his younger brother. "That a boy. You've done the right thing here today Buzz. You'll find your payment with my receptionist." Buzz then started to walk out the door, when he was called back. "I hope you know that i dont like what i just did, but you can't have progress without sacrifice son, remember that." Buzz then left, slamming the door behind him. He picked up the saddle bag filled with bits from the front desk and walked off, only wanting to get home.

 

He reached his apartment after a 15 minute walk through down-town Applewood. He walked into the deserted place, his room mate White Hat was at work with it being a weekend. Buzz closed the door and walked toward his bedroom. He threw the bag on his bed and started looking under it, pulling out several dusty boxes. This was his first time home in about a month. He started taking pictures and news articles from the boxes and began pinning them to the wall opposite his bed. After an hour of pinning these to the wall and connecting them with string, Buzz was done. He had created a mind map of freak disaster to do with dark magic over the past decade. In the centre was a very specific one. The article read "Manehatten school burnt down, dozens killed in the blaze." Buzz stepped back from the wall. "Ok Rave, you said this wasn't your doing, but the fault of your brother?" Buzz sat down on his bed and grabbed a glass bottle of cola from the mini fridge next to his head rest. He opened the bottle with his hooves and took a sip as he leaned back on the head rest. "Then buddy, by all means, lead me to your big bad brother."

5 days later

"banner? finally your home! where were you!?" Chain asked as Banner put her head down "I was nowhere alright" "no I know you were protecting far equestria and when I heard your camp was attacked I thought of the worst" Chain sighed "what happened? you don't look right" "its a long story I just want to lay down and relax a bit" "well after your done we need to start packing" "why?" "while you were away I got a lot of orders from mainhatten for companies and a big one for silver bracelets and necklaces" "why do you need me?" "I don't need you for it but I think you should see the sights of mainhatten to get you out of this funk your having" "fine I'll pack in a bit"

 

The next day

 

"smell that air, it screams business" Chain said as they got off the train station "your type of town" Banner said smiling at him "now lets go and check in to are hotel, I want to have the key when I come back to the place" "your right lets go"

 

an hour later

 

Banner was walking down the street looking at all the places. I still cant get her off my mind but...this helps next stop the museum! she thought

Fracture limps out and away from the base, following Everest's path of destruction, carrying the many pieces of the machine. Satisfied with himself, Fracture thinks, "I stopped the superweapon machine... wait... I don't even know what it was going to do... did I even do anything?" He stops outside before the explosion and looks back. "I should have known that I was still useless... Well, at least I have these parts." He does a few mental calculations and finds that the approximate value of the pieces was well worth the time. "I might be lonely, but at least I have my machines." He turns to continue walking; "Maybe I can find another pony that likes machines, and I can reconstruct my oil drills. That'll be a systematic approach to being happier." He smiles, realizing the idea that his experience had initiated. "I wonder if I'll see the others again; they're probably all going their own ways."

Five Days After Detonation

 

Dramatic and Heart move to the northern mountains to escape the reach of Equestrian law

 

Chaotic moves back to her dimension to plan her next mission.

six months after detonation

 

a border patrol was scouting out an area when the came across a strange grey earth pony with a red streak in her white mane and a nasty scar across her eye, lying passed out on the ground among these scouts was their captain who ordered for the pony to be brought back to camp.

 

Two days later, the pony awakes with no recollection of who she is.

two weeks later the pony remembers her name is Scare Effect but only her name.

Three months later Scare is released from the hospital and moves to manehatten.

Manehatten one year after detenation

on a roof top in the rain stood a purple unicorn whose eyes glowed pure white as she laughed and the thunder crashed in the distance, "this world will be mine," she said laughing to herself.
