Like, Spike visits Zecora, wanting to know more about her, and while Zecora looks for her family photo book, maybe a book of dragons falls off her shelf, or maybe Spike sees his egg in a nest in the background or foreground in a photo with Zecora's family?

I agree. I don't like how the Mane 6 are all suppose to be best friends, despite their differences - yet I can't really say they all are. Would you really say that Rarity and Rainbow are best friends forever? They could be if they had an episode with each other. Or Fluttershy and AJ? Maybe, but I still think they should have more time together. How about Spike and Rainbow Dash, or Pinkie Pie and Discord? It would be interesting. It would be cool if they made friends with other characters too, like Octavia and Rarity, Vinyl Scratch and Fluttershy, Spike and the Spa ponies, Rainbow and Soarin... There is so much potential for fresh episodes.

or Rarity and Pinkie. Or Rarity and Dash, Spike and Zecora, Spike and Fluttershy, Spike and Dash, Spike and the CMC, Pinkie and Vinyl Scratch, Pinkie and Scootaloo, Twilight and Shinig Armor, twilight and parents, Rarity and parents. So much potential, indeed.

Well, like everyone here says, an applejack's parents episode would be GREAT.
Early on, I felt a "family appreciation day" type episode where the mane six all are meeting with their families, but end up arguing would have been a great way to do this, but having them realize they were taking their parents for granted due to AJ scolding them.

 

 

 

Now, I think an episode about Twilight trying to use dark magic as a shortcut is a DEFINITE missed opportunity. This really would only have worked as an episode before she was made a princess, as Celestia declared her an equal and released her from her tutalage in S3. But having Twilight being worried about a test or assignment of some sort and resorting to "just a little" dark magic to try and get an edge would have been great. Sadly, past her alicornhood I think the time is past for that. (And I don't think the midnight sparkle thing in EQG will be anywhere near similiar due to that she's not going to be resorting to dark magic to get an edge in that one from what it looks like).

 

 

 

 

 

As for other episodes? Have AJ end up having to go to another town to help oversee soemthing for one of her family and try and help the ponies there get their farms/crops started up (or even have the map send her there). Have AJ struggle with accepting that others due things differently while trying to act as a good leader for the group and whip them into shape, kind of like how the Mayor mare/AJ comic did.

Likewise, another episode focusing on RD as a team leader for a group of pegasi would be nice, as that was a good side of her in Hurricane fluttershy.

my friend blew my mind when he told me how S3 could of been better... cause of the current five seasons the third one is my least favorite... he told me instead of the extremely rushed episode known as S3 E13 there could of been more... 5 episodes where Twilight would try to remind her friends who they were and we would learn more about each of their pasts... then eventually came a 6th and we would know more about Twilight before she became a princess...

that could be a nice way to address AJ's parents, or lack thereof, actually. Not a bad idea

 

The last one, might just happen in Saturday's episode, "Rarity takes Manehattan". She's supposed to be going with AJ, around a Hay packing district, looks like

I can finally scratch "RariDash episode" off my list(though that doesn't mean I don't want to see the both of them get more screentime together )

 

I still want that Celestia episode...and unfortunately it looks like we still won't be getting that this season (though it's at least assuring to know that even one of the staff members themselves thinks Celestia is overdue for an episode)

 

And a more Spike episodes where he hangs out with other ponies apart from Twilight and Rarity(Spike at Your Service was a step in the right direction)

 

 

 

Oh and as for finally addressing AJ's parents, I honestly feel like the ship has already set sail for that. With so many episodes centered around AJ's family and after a freaking Family Reunion episode, it's been so long that I just don't know how they can properly the issue with her parents. The best I can see is through a passing mention

First episode for a scene, Fluttershy takes an interest in Spike and wants to know all about him. The end, as I don't really see anything beyond that.

When she realizes it, it's too late, Spike stops her from running away, as he notices the dragons seem friendly, inviting them over to have lunch. Fluttershy and Spike learn about these dragons, slowly coming to trust them, and realizing not all dragons are created equal, and they both were in the wrong for judging the dragon race as a whole, as being mean and scary. Night sets in, and Flutters has to go back home, but dragons invite Spike to stay short-term, and help him find his dragon clan. (Which could be good setup to ave him gkne from the series and Poyville for a week or two, come back to the ponies, telling his pony friends all about his adventure, and have him physically matured a bit, but with his greed under control) pony friends want to meet his dragon clan, and Spike brings his pony family to meet his dragon kin.

I would have wanted a legion of evil/Nega-mane six episode. Such as Trixie for twilight, LD for rainbow dash, Suri for Rarity, ect.
But honestly this seems pretty unlikely, and WAY past time.

The Elements of harmony are gone. They just are. That part of the show is gone and they've move past those trinkets. As such, a group of Macguffins opposed to the mane six's macguffins is past time.

 

 

Plus, my personal favorite "nega mane six" Group had Trixie, Sunset shimmer and Lightning dust, and Sunset's original personality has pretty much been deleted and buried in a shallow grave (seriously, there's absolutely ZERO trace of her first movie personality)

I second an episode like this. I really do think we need another look at dragons episodes and Flutters makes the perfect creature knowledgeable pony for the task. While not canon per say the MLP comics did make city dragons a thing and I could see them using such a concept within the show. Plus having Fluttershy finally confront the dragon issue and if nothing else work on her abilities with other magical creatures might be a good story point. Heck they could throw in Rarity since R/F eps have normally been good and the three of them together would make for an interesting trio.   

 

As for other miss op. 

 

Celestia and Twilight story touching on their past together and what and how there relationship has changed over the years and where they both see it going. Would make for a great SL ep using flash backs.  

 

Luna and Celestia story and how Luna NEEDS to learn how to communicate to Cel since DPDoMS seriously shows she is not talking about her feelings. Also would allow Cel to vocalize her own feels on the whole thing and maybe even show Luna that she has been through a lot through the years so she can related (MLP comics did touch on this in the reflections arc, however that arc has been seen as somewhat controversial by fans.)  

 

A Twilight and Shinning Armor ep, with just the two of them like they had with Twi and Cadence. It could easily focus on the Twilight's impending aunt-hood, with Twilight wondering where he place in her brothers life will be since so much as changed in only a 2 years and if she is up to the task of being a good aunt so someone as important as one of the first birthed princesses.

 

And of course another proper Zecora ep since SERIOUSLY we really haven't seen her like at all. With so many international creature showing up, are you telling me the Zebras aren't going to pop up at all and be all SUP Zecroa where have you been? It would make for an interesting ep if Zecora had been on a some kind of mission or life journey and was suppose to return with something but hasn't and thus some of her fellow people went out looking for her.

I feel that hasbro forgets all they can do with the mane 6. Sometimes I also feel it's super annoying when all the mane 6 is there, even though only 1 or 2 need to be there. Like rainbow falls for example. Only flutterahy needed to be there, and I feel this could have made a better episode.

As much as I love the little guy, "Missed opportunity" was the perfect way to describe as a whole if not a punching bag.

 

I could go on all day with episodes they could have done with him to develop his character. In fact I've made like three threads about it. But I think it's pretty clear at this point that the writers don't care about Spike anymore. No instead they're going to continue giving the Cutie Mark Crusaders potential instead at the very least giving Spike a goal. To be honest, as great as Crusaders of the Lost Mark was, all bets became off with the writers' and DHX's stance on their perception as Spike as a character. To yet to even TRY to expand his character and give him something to hold onto. 

 

I'm not too disappointed about this idea since I've read fanfics that addressed this possible issue but I felt at the beginning of Season 4, Twilight's princesshood and Spike's fears of Twilight not needing him anymore could have been came together as Spike would get the idea that Twilight is going to get a bunch of servants and butlers to do all the things for her that he normally does since she's a princess. They could make it to the point where one of the mane six, I'd probably prefer Applejack, could talk to him and help ensure him that Twilight isn't going to cast him aside like he fears. It could also hit Twilight that she has taken Spike for granted at times since she came to Ponyville. Power Ponies kinda addressed this but I feel Spike needs to be told basically, "Just because you aren't an Element of Harmony doesn't mean your any less important to me from the rest of the girls." 

 

Aside from that, I think there's also been plenty of opportunity to put Celestia into the mix of the show. I mean since season 2 and Luna's return, Celestia has been kinda insulting sidelined. I mean even Cadance has been getting more meaningful screen time than her. Remember when we saw Celestia and Luna interact like sisters in Slice of Life? Give us an episode about that. How their relationship has been since Luna has been back.
