King

Alright, so I got Feedly myself, and I have to say I like the app so far :3 I just open it, search the comic, and add it to my list. I can even see the comic page in the app! One question though... How will the updates appear on the phone?

On the subject of this comic, now... I'm amazed that it's been around for seven years now o3o But that doesn't mean I love it any less x3 And of course, King is awesome ^^

Well RSS will only keep you up to date on current updates so once you get done reading it think about it. It's so much more efficient than bookmarks.

Don't I know it. Also Youtube. If you don't want to create an account to subscribe to people you can always use RSS to keep tabs on them.

Unfortunately there are some things that you can't find RSS for. Sometimes they're too old, other times the creator hasn't made one or doesn't know how.

I'll just come out and admit it. I have no idea what an RSS is.

There's an app I think. I was gong to look in to it actually.

I started reading the comic from the beginning. It starts a bit slowly, but I find it more interesting as the strip progresses.

I love the art style.

Always nice to see another convert er, fan. :)

And I agree, it's a very well-drawn strip.

It's okay. It's a criminally underused system and a lot of people don't know about it or sometimes can't understand it.

An RSS Feed is a batch of code that allows an RSS Reader to keep track of when a webpage updates, typically linking you to the website in question and often just showing you what's on the page in the reader itself.

Simply keeping a tab to Feedly open on your browser and/or periodically checking it will keep you up to date on your favorite websites. Especially if you follow quite a few. It can be used to follow news websites, comics, Youtube channels, comment sections for articles or comics and pretty much anything that has an RSS built into it.

If you ever see this symbol on a page:

134_rss_icon.gif

then that means you can follow it through RSS. Not every website explicitly says that they have an RSS but still do, however, and that's where the search bar comes in handy. It'll automatically run a search through the web for the corresponding RSS feed to whatever you put into it. Even just plugging the website URL is enough to get it going.

It's also pretty easy to use from the get-go so the not-so-technically minded can still get a piece of the action.

Especially since webcomics sometimes start out pretty bad in the art department. They're sometimes an artist's first foray into the world of comics and artistry.

Many that start that way, like Dan & Mab's Furry Adventures or Juvenile Diversion, start out pretty shitty but evolve into something amazing. You can really tell the difference from the first and current pages.

I actually don't know how it is on phones. I use my computer. As far as the PC Feedly goes whether they show up on Feedly or you have to actually go to the page depends entirely on the comic itself but it shouldn't be more than a click away no matter which side of the fence that particular Feed lies on.

Well, as you may have noticed, RG is sick and there haven't been any comics since last Monday. But this afternoon he livestreamed him drawing some spot comics to go up during the interim. I was able to tune in for a brief period, so here's a couple pics of him working on it, in case you find such things interesting (I do!).

I have just reached and finished the "Macbeth" story arc. OMG, it was great!

PS. The site's search is broken, but I managed to find the thread again using Google!

The two things I always skip over when I read Housepets are Peanut's comics and the plays. I never cared about the comics and the plays got too complicated for me, or rather the jokes started going way over my head so I started skipping past them. My favorite parts of the comic are anything to do with the higher dimensional beings.

Just finished the Year Four arc and it's official. I am hooked on this like Grape to catnip. The characters play off each other well and the situations they find themselves in are hilarious. There also a good amount of heartfelt moments but the only thing that didn't sit well with me out was that one scene between King and Dutchess. Also, Sasha and her owner... nuff said.

I started reading this webcomic the other day, and ended up hooked. I somehow got caught up on all of it two days. I enjoyed it immensely..the characters are well-written and likeable, the art and writing is nice, and it has an unexpectedly good story. I'll definitely be keeping up with it from now on.

King is so adorable I just want to hug him *fangirls*

Hey, I can quit anytime I want.

Ugh, that kills me. :(

I remember those rushed few days of catching up on it. I believe I started on a Saturday night and finished on a Monday evening. I did nothing all day Sunday but read and eat meals.

Yeah a lot of the stuff from the plays went right over my head. I do like Spot comics though, simply because they remind me of the comics my brother and I used to create when we were younger.

I love the plays, and Spot (Superdog). They both give you insights on how the characters think...Sort of. They are fun though. It's a shame Tarot won't let them use her as a Holodeck any more. I loved how the Pridelands roleplay fell all to pieces because Peanut brought in Spot as a crossover character.  Macbeth, in my opinion, was hysterical. It sort of reminded me of how Terry Pratchett butchered adapted it into his "Wyrd Sisters" novel.

Back on an edit.

I forgot to mention. I love how Grape is a serious fan-girl for Pridelands, and how Peanut reads at some freakishly high speed!

LOL!

Back on another edit...

I just finished up the story of how Peanut and Grape met.

Kitten Grape is now my hero!

Fan strip that RG retweeted earlier:

Major spoilers for for the month of June 2015.

You know? Someday King just might have to thank Pete. I just read up to here today. Rather appropriate, don't you think? It's the 2012 Christmas comic where King asks Bailey a certain question. It also gave me the "feels". I'm really starting to love King!

Back on an edit. I now feel really dumb. It just struck me like a ton of tuna. Pete the Griffin. Peter Griffin!

LOL!

I'm now up to http://www.housepetscomic.com/2014/07/28/in-the-pudding/ I'm no longer just starting to. I do love King. The poor guy just can't accept that his odyssey has made him so much more than what he used to be. I got all choked up over the last few installments. I don't mean the Spot (Superdog) episode. That was just a nice way to clear the palate after the emotional roller-coaster ride King is on.

King grew on me pretty quickly, though I suppose that's how he was designed. He's in tie for my favourite character with Peanut. Both are amazing characters <3

I just finished "Heaven's Not Enough: Part 3"

My reaction?

My reaction in a bit more detail. I put it in spoilers.

King faced down Gods and Demigods and made the right choice! The female he loves is more important to him than money, comfort, and returning to humanity. I am so happy with how this story arc concluded. I'm still snifflin' a little over it.

Oh, and King looks so adorable in his safari hat!

@,

Peanut, thank you most sincerely for starting this thread. I would never have found Housepets! if you didn't!

Your sig reminds me that Tarot is also one of my favorite characters. While I kinda wished that Peanut and Grape ended up together I'm okay with the current setup....except the other cat. He's boring and should go away. :P
