I originally use a wireless stylus pad for art, but since I no longer have it, I had to revert back to my old sketch and scan work, but ya'know, I missed it, besides, seems faster to work on. Anyways, this is Violet Spiral concept art phase 1 of 3 concepts. I plan on revamping the rest with some other online paint program, might just fall on MS paint if I can't find a good replacement. (phase 2), and touching it up on photoshop (phase 3).

 

This is the OC for my past stories, and looking to possibly change myself up a bit before starting a new chapter.

Ended up scrapping some concepts to make my OC less sophisticated and more in the manner related to the MLP cartoon concept.

Specs:

 

She does have abnormal wings, primarily one feather on each wing that are longer than others. This actually assists flight, making her agile. Also to be noted, she is growing feathers on her croup, covering her dock. I ditched the leg amulets. She's also in her stage of story where she developes heterochromia, (different colored eyes) Her right eye is red, as her left eye is purple.

 

Her bio is also slated to be summarized.

I echo Shank's sentiment. Quite the sketching, I presume you've some amount of prior experience with drawing before? I mean, it totally shows! I'm anticipating the final version, nice work! I particularly like the anklets, a subtly nice touch.

Thank you kindly. I just wish I had pursued some kind of future career in fine arts, or in relations.

I actually have no recorded, nor formal training in any art classes or institution ...Although I surely wish I had, I could be better. All I can do is practice from here on out, or when I go back to college, perhaps pick up some lessons.

 

That is really really good. Man, I wish I could draw like that but the only way to get that good is practice which I tend to forget to do...xD

 

Nonsense, we're continually getting better as we progress. All it takes is picking up the pencil and doodle-ling every now and then. Find someone's artwork and try mapping it out once.

 

Ohh I forgot to ask, but if anypony knows of a good program for paint, and shading, would you kindly perhaps drop a link for me, I actually still have two other characters I gotta sketch up real quick before I go through scribble and erase procedures, then outline them for the paint. then it's off to bed for work tonight. MS paint works fine, but I miss my old paint pallet that went with my stylus.

 

I'd greatly appreciate it!

You might want to look up a program called PaintTool SAI. I've heard nothing but good things about it, I think you'll find it to your tastes!

Very good drawing! I especially like the detail and features of the mane and tail, not to mention that the face is... somewhat seductive ( :P ). I will look forward to seeing more sketches from you!

I'm glad you liked that, but sadly I kinda deemed it too sophisticated, so I revised it considerably. I hope you still like the new concept and finished piece.
