Her answer only eased my worries a slight bit, I wasn't going to ask her if she knew what I was, just in case it came as a shock to anyone else.

"Interesting..."

I thought it best to find a room to myself where I could rest for a bit, I needed to be at full strength when we fought the dragon, so any moment I could find to gain energy would be quite useful.

Meanwhile...

It was really boring on the deck for Midnight, but he got to hear interesting news from those who probably thought he couldn't understand them. He still hoped they would at least do something instead of think that the horse standing near them was completely normal. Midnight knew that Lance might know about him, but he wasn't sure just yet. What do they mean by his mission? Is Lance not really Blitz's brother?

Meanwhile...

How?! How could he possible have noticed me directly above him, in the dark?! Clearly I don't know enough about stealth to even be a shadow in the dark. Slend considered drawing up to his full height, but decided against it, he didn't want to risk being attacked by Agravain. Since it was dark enough he decided he could risk it, he had plenty of room to escape. He rolled out across the ceiling so he wouldn't land on the book and dropped in front of Agravain. He took the form he had built earlier, but shrunk it down to be more kid sized, he made sure to keep the proportions accurate instead of an exact scale. He took a seated position with his arms behind him in a backwards leaning position to look up at him. He didn't say anything just yet. He wanted to see what would happen.

Clay shrugged slightly and shook his head. "I trust you Lance, but you can be a bit reckless at times." He said. The artist then looked at Midnight. "If you want to say anything, you might as well since you're already here." Of course, he didn't know the horse could talk. He was just joking around.

Blitz sighed as Gale flew above the clouds. It had been so long since they had flown together and the feeling of the wind blowing through his hair put him at ease. The Neko then laid on Gale's back, pressing the palm of his hand to her head. "I missed this so much, Gale." He said, watching the clouds roll by.

The dragoness gave a low purr and smiled. "You aren't the only one, Blitz." She said.

"You can't hide from a wizard of my caliber, let alone one with advanced senses to begin with. I can hear the slightest disturbance, see the quickest twitch, and feel the lightest wrinkle. Add in the ability to sense the aura of every element I understand and you have a deadly combination," Agravain said to the shadow.

Apollo watched as the dragoness took off into the air with Blitz in tow, before smiling slightly. Of course, he was also listening to Lamce and Clay's conversation. "What are those two talking about." He thought.

Kyubi watched Ratchel interact with the group and still felt strange. The fact that she had been watching each member of the group scared her the most, but it didn't seem like she knew of each member's entire life. "If I may ask, is there anything we should know about Blitz? A lot of people have attacked us and all but one seemed to be looking for him." She said, referencing the woman on the docks and Blaze.

Rachel thought for a moment, before shaking her head. "I don't know what they could be after. I'm sorry." She said. The woman, however, did have an idea of what the people who attacked the group could be after, but she would need to confirm her suspicions. "Speaking of which, have any of you seen Blitz? I thought I smelled him earlier, but it was different from when I last saw him."

Shana looked around with her eyes and nose. No sign of Blitz anywhere on the ship. Gale was also noticeably missing, so putting two and two together wasn't hard. She pointed up towards the sky. "If I had to take a guess. Blitz will be up there somewhere. He'll be back later." She stood in silence looking at the sky for a few more seconds, before her silence was broken by the sound of her stomach. "I must excuse myself. Bye." She quickly ran below deck and found a nice little space for her to eat in. Settling down and taking her food out of the bag, she purred , relaxed and started eating.

I found a small empty room and entered it, closing the door behind me and leaning against it, this was no one would be able to open the door without my moving away from it. I began to rest, taking an inventory of my equipment and assessing the state of my armor. There were quite a few dents and scratches, I was surprised that no one had commented on them after the fight. My cape was sstill missing and would likely not return until justice had been wrought, that is to say, the one that caused the attack on the village was punished for his crimes. I was able to fix some of the smaller dents, but the larger ones would have to be pounded out or the plates reforged entirely.

Meanwhile...

Midnight was at a loss for words in this situation, he could say something profound, something simple, or nothing at all. He wanted to maximize the shock value without risking injury. Suddenly an idea came to mind. He turned his head to face Clay and said, "Neigh." (Like just the word neigh, not like the actual sound a horse would make. Sounding similar to Nay). It took some extreme force of will to maintain a neutral expression and to not start laughing right there.

Meanwhile...

Arrogant much? Slend moved to be near Agravain's shoulder, looking to see what he was reading. "If your senses are so astute, why did you not notice Rachel watching us since the tower? If You're such a high caliber wizard, how did the dark mage subdue you so quickly before he had scepters attack the town? If your sense of aura is so good, tell me, why haven't you tried to kill me yet like you did to so many of my kind before? Surely my aura would be familiar to you." Slend had found enough cracks in the floorboards that he could escape at the speed of dark if things went bad here. He realized after his questions that he may have struck a bad nerve with Agravain. Slend had already moved the majority of his mass into the floor, leaving just enough to maintain his figure above the floor.

"This 'dark mage', whoever he was, had nothing to do with subduing me. I was merely exhausted. I have been possessed by a god recently, that really takes it out of you. I've also been having visions, which made matters worse. About attacking you, there was no reason to. You're aura was not noticeably off-putting." Agravain said. "As for Rachel... What makes you think I didn't notice her?" he concluded with a smirk.

Slend was quickly forming a more negative opinion of Agravain. Mostly due to the fact that what he said and what his King saw were quite different. "Exhausted huh." If he could frown he would. There were plenty of theings he would have said had he not learned self control from his king, things like Well that explains why you had the energy to cast a supermassive black hole spell, then hit the Black Knight with it. and why he had to carry you almost all the way here. "If you had known about Rachel this whole time, a good team member would have said something. You did not."

He drifts back a bit, drawing his form up a bit taller, about 6' tall. "So you are stuck with a decision. Either you are not quite as powerful as you are making yourself seem, or you have been a very poor member of your team by not telling anyone when you noticed that they were being followed The Entire Time."

He crosses his arms in front of his chest. "I will admit that my aura has changed recently, I've been given a new life and time to mature, but I was one of the scepters that was forced to attack the town, and if you couldn't see that then I sincerely doubt that you are as powerful as you want me to believe."

He lifted an arm to stroke his chin. "I don't recall you ever seeing the Black Knight out of his armor. If you really are as perceptive as you say tell me. What race is he?" He returned his arms to his chest, "Do take your time, I have more time left than you do."

(Slend doesn't take well to boasters. Plus he doesn't have any practical experience with decorum so he will be somewhat blunt in his speech for a while.)

Perhaps I am a poor member of the team. This is one of very few times that I have fought alongside and adventured with others. As for the Black Knight, it's fairly obvious he's a scepter. He never removes his armor and he gives off a dark presence, similar to yours."

(As darkness does not actually exist, there is no "speed of dark," it is only the speed of light, as the darkness does not move, but the light does.)

Auras are all reletive and can change when defined by malevolence or shade. My king may be a dark entity but he shines brighter than you ever could. You almost killed him back in the town. Assuming he hadn't changed, though, I can tell you what he was like." He said. "Blitz was very intelligent and seemed to be skilled in lightning magic. He didn't really talk much or have many friends. He would always go into the forest for hours on end and no one was sure about what he was doing. "You're description brought back something I wish I could forget. Something that really left a scar. Since I'm already on the topic. I may as well tell the story. Uxion. 13 years ago. Just outside of the city walls in the southern forest. I was exploring the outside of the city as the commotion coming from the war woke me from my rest. I ran into a small boy in a soldiers uniform. I thought he took it from a dead body to escape. When I get close, I could see that this boy was covered in blood, not a refugee, but a soldier. I tried talking to him and I got this." She pulled her shirt up to her stomach, revealing a rather large scar. "This was a stab wound that nearly killed me. Not the most pleasant of experiences let me say. With my profession it's Easy to mistake it for a monster wound. After this, I hate humans. I hate soldiers. And I wanted to brutalise the person who did this to me. If I remember correctly I gave that human a good slash across the face. It's strange how ironic things are right now?" Pulling her shirt back down, she looks down and curls up into a ball. Tears forming in her eyes. If Blitz and the human are one in the same. This will make things complicated.

(If my memory is correct. Uxion happened when Blitz was 5 and Shana was 4. Since their is a one year age gap between our characters, taking their actual age, 18 and 17, to the age of the event. That makes it 13 years ago. I may be wrong though. I've not the best memory. Correct me if I'm mistaken.)
