During her moments alone, Shana felt something very dark moving along the ship. It was hard to pin point what it was, or where it was, but it didn't feel very friendly. Taking her staff, she begins to explore the middle and lower sections of the ship, looking for this darkness that she felt.

 

"Come on out Dark Spirit. Are you lost? An abandoned soul? A sentient Shade? A wondering phantom? I won't hurt you." She formed a blade on the tip of her Staff out of magic and held it like a Halberd. "Depending on your intentions."

The scepter shook a bit, then headed for her leg, warping around it like a sort of tube sock. I smiled, "That's a good start, I see you're a bit tired, dark magic is strenuous on the mind, you must be careful not to push yourself too far or your mind will break from the stress. We'll stop here to let you rest your mind. behind you is a lever that will disconnect you from this mental link. we can do this again once you've regained your strength."

Midnight didn't exactly know where to go with the conversation now, "So, nice weather we've been having, I thought it would be a bit more dark and cloudy around Dark Elf territory."

Wow, it's like they expected me to leave them. Slend emerged from the wall in front of the kids, and pointed to the correct door.

He felt Shana creeping about looking for him, he questioned whether it was a good idea to leave the wall. But such was his fate, after he was sure the kids had seen him pointing out the correct room he drifted off to find her. He emerged from the wall in front of her utilizing the same small kid form he used with the other kids, it seemed non-threatening enough to dissuade violence and left enough mass in the floor to quickly escape should things go violent. "Are you looking for me? I thought maybe, but I am none of those things, I am a scepter, a shadow scepter to be precise, shades are an entirely different sort."

The scepter was confused, first as to what tea was, second as to what one does with it. It knew that its king would have known before the king was killed. He floated pondering how to convey confusion to the human. other scepters were currently figuring out how to replicate speech to facilitate communication. It would be needed if the swarm was to be coalesced again. The scepter tilted sideways in an attempt to replicate a head tilt.

"yeah, taking breaks is good for any kind of training" she said griping her head and closing her eyes, when she opened them she was back in the room where The Black Night was in full armor

 

I thought he would leave...well follow the shadow I guess, Tony thought going throw the door he pointed too to see Amy and The Black Night together "there you are, we were worried sick" he said first, hugging her "yes now what is the plan for us? will we just wait on the ship as stowaways or will we reveal our self's?"

 

"see its nothing like that" she had a little more hope that it was like that "are you kidding me, that way she answered-" Banner gave him a death stare "ok, do you want to know the time me and Banner went to Manehatten?" "oh that has a bit of a vigilantly me in it" she smiled

 

"well I have no idea about that either unless you count being a Dryad...being with out my fathers power sucks" she paused "I asked because I have no idea what I could do and wish someone could give me even a little idea" a tear came to her eye "I don't have any and I have no mother of father after this" she sighed

Fond memories... Oh, where are my manners. Ser Allendune, at your service," he said with a bow. "Can you say that? Ah-Lend-Yoon."

"Impressive disguise. Making yourself look human. I don't like that. I'm not fond of having a Shadow Spector following us, particularly after what happened at that town. Though I guess that wasn't your fault. Creatures like you are usually passive. And you have enough intelligence to communicate and hide. So who exactly are you, and why is it you are following us?" The blade on her staff dissipated and she brought it back close to her, also standing in a non threatening manner.

Kyubi nodded slightly and smiled, remembering when she first said those same words to him. "Thank you." She said, before giving him a quick hug. The dark elf then moved back and blushed slightly. She then noticed the bandages and was slightly curious. "What happened to your arm?"

Blitz glanced at the bandages and shrigged. "To be honest, I don't really know." He said. "I didn't really notice them until today." The Neko was curious as to what would need to be covered on his arm, but figured it would be best to uncover it in private. He then put his armor back on, not really sure where this conversation would go now.

Gale nodded slightly as she looked at the clear skies. "Yeah. It's actusly quite nice." She said, smiling slightly, before nuzzling Midnight. Of course, she did have a slight blush from what Apollo said, though.

Clayton nodded slightly. "You'll be fine. To be quite honest, there's nothing really special about humans. Sure we have magic and whatnot, but that's nothing out of the ordinary unless you have a strong type of magic."

 

Rachel raised an eyebrow and gave a light smile. "What happened in Manehatten?" She asked, somewhat curious.

"I just wish this whole thing never happened so I wouldn't have to ask these questions...because I wouldn't even be around anymore" she sighed "I know that humans aren't that hard to understand but they sure can be a pain to understand individual as there not simple minded with there own way of life that I have no idea how to fit in to"

 

"so-" "so there is city called Manehatten with a few rundown streets and apparently we had to go there for a job Chain had for a few weapons that a 'guard' wanted. We arrived there to be ambushed by a bunch of jerks and I got out a spear from the crate we had and started destroying them while Chain fled to get help" "I did but it was much harder than it sounds, escaping a gang had its consequences as I knocked out a few as well as getting scratches from worn knifes" "he came back to a pile of ponies from the gang and a bloody yellow mare still standing, they told me to not do that vigilante stuff again but it felt great to take those ponies down" she smiled "that was way before we knew any of this adventure was going to happen"

I rose to find that there were many more kids in the room than I started with. I recognized them as the rest of the group that was supposed to stay behind. "I'd say you are pretty revealed already. The question is, what do I do about all of you?"

Midnight returned the nuzzle, with interest. He laid down completely on the deck. "We better get some rest, who knows when we'll get to sleep again." He laid his head on his bag and sighed. "I am getting far too old for this. If my mane weren't naturally white I'm sure I'd have some grey hairs by now."

Slend honestly prefered the kids at this point. Adults of most species it seemed were not too accepting of differences and more prone to be species-ist. He drew himself up to his full slender frame. His head reaching the ceiling. "I look about as human as you do Shana, Bipedalism is a trait shared by many species." He drifts a bit closer to her, only about a few inches or so. "So, you don't like that I, a passive creature, have been following you, yet you openly accept an unknown creature that has followed you since the tower? Clearly you are as unbiased as they come. As to who I am, you may call me Slend if you so desire. As to why I am here, my king commanded it. How about you? Why are you here Shana? And why do you trust Rachel over Me?" Slend folded his arms, as a silhouette it would be hard to tell they were folded had they not been seen moving.

The scepter grew a third tendril with the rediscovery of speech. This third tendril would vibrate at varying frequencies whenever it spoke. "Ah... lend... une..." It tilted sideways for a bit before continuing. "No... speak... good. Much lost with Great death. Much smart gone." It turned to face the pot. "No able drink." The scepter drifted over the pot, catching bits of the steam with a tendril as it began to grow very slowly. "Heat good." It turned towards Alendune, "Can learn you smart?" It extended a tendril with a small ball of darkness in it, easily recognizable as a mental link.

Kyubi nodded and sighed. A lot was going through her head and she needed time to think. "I guess I'll see you later, then." She said, before heading out of the area. The dark elf then noticed Edward talking to someone. "Somehow I knew those kids would find a way on board."

@@Illiad Easle, Shana giggled a little at the Shades comments and let a rather devious and cruel smile form across her face. "Well then Slend, who said I trusted her? I have no clue who she is or what her true intentions are. I'm guessing she has some motivation beyond what she is telling us. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you can't really trust a Humans word. And why am I here? Lets say I'm here to make sure this group actually does what we set out to do. I still have a lot to do before I let this world die. I don't know why your king is asking you to follow us, nor do I really care. Follow us around all you want. But if for a second I see you as a threat, I've killed enough over the years to know how to easily put you down. Shades may be passive, but smart ones are more trouble than they are worth." She turned around and walked away from the Shade. "You can go back to doing what ever is was you were doing."

Blitz sighed as he was once again left alone with his thoughts. There were so many things about himself that even he couldn't explain. It irritated him to no end. He then set his swords on the table and placed his hands on the glowing blades.

Gale giggled slightly and laid next to him. "You don't look that old." She said. "Besides, I'm sure you would look nice with a few grey hairs." The picture that formed in her mind from that caused her blush to darken.

To be quite honest, Ratchel was a bit impressed. "I wish I could've been there to watch." She said, trying to imagine what the scene looked like.

 

Clayton nodded gave a slight laugh. "I wouldn't really worry about it that much." He said. "Every human has there own little thing that sets them apart from everyone else. I'm sure you'll ne able to find your own way unique trait."

"I've killed monsters before, no demons as they are rare in Equestria but things like evil manticores and herds of timber wolfs" "she's the action and I'm the support...I make the weapons she breaks everyday" he snickered as Banner did the same "so were the perfect team, being friends helps too"

 

"well I was born with vast knowledge of all things living on the earth and the knowledge of how to make more life...I meant that for plants" she blushed a bit as she realized what she said

I'm not sure I'm qualified to take on two apprentices, let alone three. "If you want to learn my dark magic you'll have to be committed to it. You can't do dark magic if you have second thoughts about it." I turned to face the whole group. "Since you're already on board it would be best to let the captain and the others know, we'll have to vote to see if you will be able to come with us on our quest."

"Yah, I do look a bit young for a millennial, I suppose I should thank Luna for it if I ever see her again." He turned to look at Gale, "How old are you again? I'd say you're on your second or third century, but I could be wrong, I don't have much of a basis for comparison."

Well, she jumps positions quickly, going from aggressive to passive to friendly so quick. I'm sure I could learn a bit more by following her a bit.

Slend decided to drift after Shana, his arms back to hanging out at his sides. "I could say the same about many creatures, a smart one is a dangerous one when provoked. I heard of a scepter who ended slavery throughout an entire nation because it was disgusted that such a practice could be accepted. I also heard that a scepter managed to prevent a war by sacrificing itself. Another one set up a court system that united many world nations for a time. But of course, a smart scepter is much more trouble than it's worth."

"So do a few rights make up for all the trouble and wrong caused in the past? If we go by that logic, I'm a good as a Saint. Creatures cause more problems than they solve. A few good apples don't redeem the rotten bunch. Why are you following following me anyway? Don't you have something you need to be do-" Shana stopped mid sentence as she hear noises not far away. Many feet, too small to be one of her party. She cast a clairvoyance spell to look around the ship with an unobstructed view. She noticed the group of children from earlier. "*tsk* What are they doing here? This is not place for young children." She made her way outside of the room the children were in and stood in the doorway. Tapping her nails on the wooden frame.

Blitz's ears twitched as he heard what Shana said, and tried to tune it out. He didn't know what she was talking about, but it made him feel weird, as if she had just punched him in the gut. The Neko then looked at his swords and shook his head before putting them in their respective sheathe. He then walked onto the balcony located at the back of the ship and looked out into the horizon in silence.

Gale giggled slightly and gently tapped Midnight on the chest with the side of her tail fin. "Never ask a female of any species about her age, Midnight." She said playfully. "Either way, Apollo and I were hatched a little under two hundred years ago, and we were raised by the human I mentioned earlier for most of that time, until about... thirteen years ago."

Ratchel nodded slightly and smiled, enjoying Banner and Chain's stories. "I guess it's good that you two know each other, then." She said. "Otherwise, you two would probably drove each other insane."

 

Clayton had a bit of a blush as well and tried not to think of what the dryad said like that. "Yeah, I figured as much." He said, laughing nervously. "Anyway, I have no doubt that you'll be just fine as a human." The man then smiled slightly as he let go of the wheel for a second and turned to face the dryad. "You're certainly one of the most unique people I've met in my life, and that is a good thing."

Kyubi shrugged slightly as she walked out of the shadows. "To be honest, it would probably be best if they stayed with us for now. At least we could ensure their safety, then." She said. "Besides, they would probably find someway to stick with us."

 

It didn't take long for Apollo to find enough fish to sate his hunger, and he also had enough for what he planned for Gale. "This'll teach them not to call me a softie." He thought as he swam behind the ship.

"so do you have any doubt?" she looked at Tony how looked like he was thinking then cleared his mind "non at all...I think your idea would be best, you could put a good word in for us to stay, I mean we don't have to do everything you do, we could stay back when you guys needed it" he didn't want to have any death of the kids from this decision

We drive each other crazy all the time" "I think she meant how we always get back from trouble in your means" "that makes more sense" she looked at the sky "I wonder what that dragon will really look like...up close" she kind of didn't want that from what Agravain had on him

I turned to face Shana as she approached. "Hello Shana, is there anything you need from me? Do you want to learn dark magic too?" I turned towards Kyubi, "Well, this is certainly getting a bit crowded. Personally I think the kids shouldn't follow us too much further, there is a very real chance than most of us will not be coming back from this quest. We can't much ensure their safety if we die trying to protect them. I think we should find them somewhere safe to stay, then retrieve them once it's safe to travel with them. I don't want to put them at further risk."

Midnight only grinned a bit at her tap. "You'll find when you get as old as I am there are a whole bunch of things you can do that others can't. Millennials like me get a special pass in these sorts of social settings. I am amazed though at how long that human lived, most only live to be about 80 if they're lucky, he must have been almost 200 years old. Do you know how he managed to live that long?"

Oooh, I'm starting to annoy her.That's what you get when you dis on an entire species for the actions of a few. "I do believe the saying goes the other way, 'A few bad apples spoil the bunch.' And no, I don't have anything better to do at the moment. Now tell me, does your hatred of scepters have a personal event behind it? Or do you just hate my kind without any sort of personal reason? If it is because of the attack on the town I must tell you. Your hatred is entirely misplaced." He noticed when she stopped that they had arrived back at his king's room. as he was not an official member of the party he decided to not offer his opinion on the matter.

Gale sighed and laid her head on the wooden deck. This wasn't a good topic for her, but she figured it would be best to talk about it. "For the most part, yes. I don't know exactly what magic she used, but the human turned herself into a dragon." She said.

Rachel nodded slightly, but was quiet when the dragon the group was hunting became the topic.

 

Clayton couldn't find the right words to say, and he could feel a pit forming in his stomach. "It's nothing, really." He said, trying to hide his nerves. "I just like to help those who need it.

Kyubi nodded slightly, understanding the dark knight's reasons. "That seems logical. I don't know many places we can drop them off in my home, though." She said.

 

Apollo climbed up to where Blitz was and looked at the neko. "Everything alright?" He asked, showing a slight amount of concern.

"I have more talent in Dark magic than you would believe. I'm more interested in the fact that you did not think it important to inform any of us that these Children had followed us on board. And do you even know what dark magic can do to a child's health? It's a dangerous magic. Unless they know how to control magic and keep their emotions in check, they'll drown in a single emotion, becoming mindless monsters. I've seen it happen many time. So make sure these children can control dark magic and themselves before we leave. Otherwise I may have to spill their blood in the future." She turned out of the room and walked back towards the middle deck.

 

"As for your question Specter, the say goes both ways if you word it right. And I do have my own personal reasons behind my hate for your species. Thought it was quite obvious that the attack in that town was not of your own volition. A pack of Specter's would never attack such a populated and powerful magic community. So the deduction is that you had some mage controlling and influencing your actions. That's an easy one to figure out."

Blitz was brought out of his musings as Apollo spoke and shrugged slightly. "It's nothing. Just thinking about a few things." He said. The neko then sat down and looked at the setting sun. "Anyway, I should probably get some sleep. I should be better in the morning." With that, the neko left Apollo and soon found himself in a bed in one of the many cabins on the ship.

As Agravian headed back towards the town that had been invaded by specters, a man wearing a black cloak with blood red smoke cloud designs walked towards him. A orange mask with a single eye hole covered his face. "Tell me, is this world ready for the year of the dragon?" He asked, his voice sounding surprisingly like that of a child.

Apollo sighed as he watched Blitz leave and could smell Shana's scent. He slowly made his way to her and looked the Neko in the eyes. "You may want to check on Blitz. He's been acting strange lately." He said, before noticing that he could still smell the kids on board. The dragon have a low growl before turning his attention back to Shana
