Seeing as things weren't really going anywhere inside, I proceeded outside having caught the end of their conversation.

"If you want to know about dark magic, I suppose there are a few things I could tell you."

Was this a good idea? Likely not. Would I get attacked if I told them too much? Probobly. Will I do it anyway? Of course.

 

Meanwhile...

 

Midnight glared a little bit at Gale, all in good fun.

"Don't laugh at me, this is a very efficient method of eating the last of something out of a bag. If I didn't have such a long muzzle, I wouldn't be able to see you at all."

He gave a little huff, then regretted it as it blew some of the oats out of the bag and on to his face.

 

Meanwhile...

 

It took a while but Slade was able to more solidify his bipedal form, making it look more real with each iteration, except for it being entirely black. The chest and head were mostly solid, it no longer looked like a coil, in the dark he could almost pass for a normal human, were he not 7 to 8 feet tall with 6 foot long arms.

"That doesn't realky convince me." She said, before brushing off the oats with her claws. They weren't really sharp, so there was not really any chance of accidentally injuring Midnight.

 

Blitz sighed as he noticed that he and Kyubi were the only ones left in the shop, aside from Clay and Lance. "We should probably get going. It'll take us a few days to get to the dark elf territory and knowing our luck, something interesting is bound to happen on the way there." He said.

 

Clay nodded, before getting close to Blitz. "If you would be so kind as to ask the dragons if they would like to be in one of my pieces,it would make me happy to do another dragon piece." With that, the artist, Neko, and soldier exited his shop. "Ok. I believe it's time for all of you to see where you'll be staying the next few days. As for the children, there is an orphanage in town, and they do allow pets."

Shana increased her focus on the ball of air in her hands, as it finally took the shape of a blade. While only small, she smiled at the possible potential of this new power she was experimenting with. She let her concentration dip slightly and the blade slightly touched her hand, which still manage to cause a semi deep cut. She dropped the spell quickly after this. She was going to be very verbally aggressive, but she remembered that children are close by. "This is what happens when you don't focus. Mistake will be made. But progress is progress." She pulled a bandage out of her bag and wrapped her hand, the cloth quickly becoming rather red. She still smiled at the new ability she has with the wind.

Looking to the dragon, Agravain said "It's not so much about the focus you put into a spell as much as it is the understanding of what you are doing that creates stronger spells. The more you understand what you are trying to manipulate, the easier it is to do so, and it allows you to manipulate it in different manners. As for your second question, there are stories of ancient dragons who did just such things, though there is no evidence to prove them."

"but I don't want to leave, I could have a potential teacher with you" she said turning from Blitz to The black knight "lets just go, no one will accept are powers anyway, even if we try are best there will always be some hate just because of the type of magic we have...might as well not use it at all" Tony got up "I just hope the group doesn't get separated, even if we have to rename it since, you know, dark magic protectors will probably be hated by everyone" "I worked hard on that name two" "we shouldn't even be focusing on that though, are parents are dead and we cant do anything to help them...sorry to bring down the mood but we have to remember that" the kids all look down, some started to tear up "w...why did you have to say that?"

Clay shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry, but this journey isn't safe for you to go on." He said. To be honest, this was hard for the artist to say. He didn't like to see others sad, but he knew that the safety of the kids came first.

 

Blitz sighed as he watched the kids. He knew exactly how they felt and wasn't about to put them in danger. The neko then headed towards the dock, not saying a word.

Apollo thought over what Agravian had said. "I think I've heard of similar stories, only in those dragons act as a parent to a human child and teach them their own brand of magic." He said. "I could only imagine how much power any one of those mages would hold. It both intrigues and frightens me."

 

Kyubi noticed Blitz leave and decided it would be best to follow him. She stayed a few feet behind him with her hood up, not wanting to seems to suspicious.

Eventually, Blitz made it to one of the many piers along the coast of the port town. As he hung over the raining, he saw his own reflection in the water. "Why did that have to happen to them?" He thought. "Why is this world so cruel to those who cannot defend themselves." The Neko then balled his hands into fists. He then laughed slightly and looked into the sky. "The funny part is, I don't even know who I really am." His eyes then widened as he smelled something strange and looked around the area, putting a hand on each of his swords.

Kyubi knew that Blitz had noticed her and decided it would be best if she put her hood down. "It's ok, Blitz. It's only me." She said, walking towards him. "I saw you leave and was worried about you." The dark elf then looked out into the horizon and gave the neko a light smirk, hoping to ease his tension.

Blitz looked at Kyubi and sighed, taking his hands off his swords. "I'm sorry. The situation at that town and those kids just reminds me of what happened at Uxion." He said. "Things like that... they change a person in more ways than one." The Neko didn't want to elaborate as to what he meant by that. "Anyway, what do you think will happen when we do get to your home?"

Kyubi nodded slightly and moved closer to Blitz, bringing him into a hug. "I know what it feels like to lose everything." She whispered. "If you ever need someone to talk, I'll always be here. As for what will happen when we get to our next destination, I guess you'll talk to Heinrich and he'll tell you what he needs."

Blitz felt weird when Kyubi hugged him, but he knew it was simply a friendly gesture. His left ear then flicked as he pushed Kyubi off him and jumped into the air. A moment later, a glowing sword drove itself into the ground. The Neko landed on top of the sword and looked in the direction the sword came from and growled. He saw a woman wearing a standard iron chest piece and a blue skirt. Her red hair was loose and fell below her shoulders. "Who are you?"

 

The woman smirked as multiple glowing magic circles appeared around her, forming swords in front of them from magic. "Why don't you tell me where the dragons are and I may just tell you, after I beat you to an inch of your life."

Lance looked around and wasn't really pleased with what he saw. "Does anyone know where Blitz and Kyubi went?"

Shana felt magic being used nearby, and Blitz was close to the source. She quickly picked up her staff and landed a teleportation a few feet away from this new mage. "You're awfully confident in your abilities aren't you? But let's have a little talk." Shana brought up her staff, and several small daggers formed out of the wind. "Dispel the magic, or I'll dispel it for you."

Kyubi was surprised when Blitz pushed her, but she was thankful that he had. The dark elf then drew a dagger and spoke in an ancient tounge. As the words flowed, the blade became charged with electricity. "I suggest you do as she says. You're outnumbered and there are probably more on the way."

The woman shrugged and smirked slightly. "I'm not confident in my abilities. I know what I'm capable of." She said. "Now, I was hoping to keep the fighting fo a minimum, but it seems I don't have a choice. If you aren't going to tell me where the dragons, Gale and Apollo, are, I'll just get it through force." She said, before launching the swords forward.

 

Blitz jumped off the sword and rushed forward, dodging the swords. "You will not hurt them." He roared. Anger seemed to radiate off him in waves. The Neko got hit a few times, but the pain wouldn't stop him. He then lunged at the woman, only to have her dodge and kick him in the side. The impact sent him into a wall and sent pain coursing through his body.

she felt it too Chain though seeing Shana blink "guys I think we got some issues, someone stay with the kids" "what's wrong?" "magic, magic is whats wrong" he said running to the source as Banner followed seeing the woman hit Blitz "oh big mistake" he got out his sword and so did Banner "your messing with fire here" he summoned a fireball from his hand strait toward the women.

 

the kids were worried about how the others left with few to no words "magic is wrong? what does that mean? was that his attempt to sound cool? that failed so hard" he said trying to bring the mood up "I mean we don't even want to go with them anyway so why does someone have to watch us, right guys...guys?" he turns to see them all following the blond dark magic girl how was  trying to sense where they were

The woman glanced at the fire before giving a slight smirk and jumped out of its path. "Is that the best you can do? I'm not even breaking a sweat." She then noticed Blitz trying to get up and knocked him to the ground, putting a blade to the back of his neck. "Now, tell me where I can find the dragons or your friend is going to get quite a shock."

 

Blitz opened one eye and glared at her. "Do it." He muttered, coughing up blood.

 

Gale looked at the kids and sighed. "It only depends on who uses it and how they use it." She said, before flying it the air. She needed to find Blitz and something told her he was in the middle of whatever was going on.

Agravain saw what was going on and started judging the situation. Time seemed to slow in the area as he processed all the information. He knew he was fast, but was he fast enough to save Blitz? He knew it was a risk, but decided he could do it. He was enveloped in a golden aura, dashing towards the woman and grabbing the knifeblade and pulling it away from Blitz' neck, thankful that he had forged gloves as well. With his free hand, he summoned his sword, taking the form of a basic shortsword and pointed it at her face. "Haven't your parents ever told you not to play with fire?"

Apollos smelled something familiar on the wind and sighed. "This can't be good." He thought, as he flew towards the docks. The first thing he noticed was Blitz on the ground. He then glanced at the woman and gave a low growl. "I want an answer as to why you would hurt Blitz, Titania." He said, electricity arcing between his back spikes.

Titania smirked as she kicked Agravian away. "Sorry, but they died a long time ago. I wasn't expectong to see you, dark wizard." She said, not even turning to see Apollo. "About time you showed up. How's your sister?"

 

It didn't take long for Gale, Clay, and Lance to arrive at the pier and the dragoness got ready to fight if needed. "I suggest you leave."

 

The woman shrugged. "Well, that was easier than I thought." She said. "So tell me, where is your father? You may want to think of your answer, or someone could end up hurt."

 

Blitz grit his teeth as he slowly stood. Electricity arced around him, gaining the attention of both dragons and the woman. He then gave a loud roar as he rushed forward and punched his attacker in the chest, sending her back a few feet. "Clay, get the others to the boat. I'll buy you some time." He said, keeping his eyes on the woman. His wounds hurt, but adrenaline fueled his rage. Even if Titania didn't intend to hurt the dragons, he was going to protect his friends.

Shana was too slow to make a reaction, but when Blitz flew Into a rage, she wasn't going to get on the boat and leave him. She wanted to get involved, but seeing him like this, honestly scared her. She just stood a small distance away from Blitz, tears in her eyes, frozen.

Kyubi was stunned to say the least. She had never seen Blitz like this and noticed Shana crying. "He'll be ok." She said, putting a hand on the neko's shoulder.

 

Apollo glared at the woman, before backing off. "I don't know." He said. "Not that I would tell you anyway."

(Well, I certainly fell behind.)

I felt the magical disturbance, but I did not react quick enough as everyone had left within a few minutes, crowded around the dock in a combat formation around some warrior girl.

I turn to Midnight, "Well, I guess we better catch up then, if only to actually keep up with the kids. You get your armor back on, I'll go ahead."

With that I retrieved my sword from my back and returned my quiver to my side, I still had two or three bolts left, should be sufficient for whatever was going on. I somewhat leisurely made my way there, mostly due to my armors damage causing a squeak if I moved too quickly. I surveyed the scene, lightning javelin in hand, as I approached. I stopped with a clear view of the warrior woman, far enough away that she shouldn't be able to lunge at me before I could hit her with the bolt.

"Well," I announced loudly to attract the attention of the warrior woman with the fiery blade. "It does seem like I am a bit late to the party." I ready my arm to throw. Let's see what happens now.

 

Meanwhile...

 

Midnight returned his stuff to his bags and donned his armor. "Why can't we relax for even one whole day? I just sat down not an hour ago and we got to rush into combat again?" He retrieved his shoe-blades and put them on his forehooves. "Well, Maybe I'll get to stab somebody this time, or kick them with all the might of a giant earth pony." He sighed. "I doubt it though, Against quads I am unbeatable, but bipeds have quite the advantage over me. If I were a pegasus I could have wing blades which would be much more effective, but alas."

He stopped his muttering and slowly made his way over to the rest of the group. If she tries to flee my way I may get a surprise on her, she'd hardly expect a normal horse to be much of a threat. 

 

Meanwhile...

 

Slade's view was shifted to the present, he was watching from his king's perspective, clearly he was about to go into combat, what a glorious educational opportunity on combat styles. Perhaps one would suit me.

Banners rage was also growing, why cant I just get one day where we don't attacked by some person that comes out of nowhere "I swear, Chain do something before I try to stab her in the throat" "I don't know anything good in electricity" "do what you can then!" "fine, just don't be surprised" he tried to use a sapping magic spell on the woman but it kind of backfired as he got the electricity in him "ah!" "stop it dude!" "I can't unless she stops the spell" he tries to say getting shocked "Blitz do something! and Black knight throw!"

Titania was definetly winded from Blitz's punch, and she gave a slight smirk. "This could prove interesting." She thought, as she used magic to change into a different set of armor. Her new outfit seemed to be made of green dragon scales and her new weapon was a halberd with the same design. Most of the armor covered her body, leaving only her face and stomach exposed.

 

Blitz couldn't explain why, but the armor looked a bit familiar. The Neko then lunged forward, his hands sparking with electricity. He dodged a massive strike from her halberd and pressed his palm to the warrior's exposed stomach. "Pulse." He muttered, sending a wave of electricity through Titania's body. "You people need to learn that attacking us isn't a good idea. Next time, I won't hold back." He said, as the warrior fell unconscious. It wasn't long before the Neko fell beside her from extensive magic use and blood loss.

 

Gale was surprised to say the least and she quickly picked up Blitz. "Let's go." She muttered.

 

"I agree. At least my boat is right next to us." Clay said as he and Lance approached. The artist then pointed towards the ship to the left of the group. It was about the size of a two decker and just as imposing. The ship did have cannons on the top deck with some in the lower ones as well,but a lot of the space was either living areas or storage. "There are cabins underneath the main deck. Just try not to make to much of a mess. Knowing my assistant, she'll probably introduce herself tonight."
