Why is Hasbro hyping up the Royal Wedding episodes so much?

Let's look at this from the other side. Would we really want Hasbro to not promote the season finale to the hilt? I mean, we're talking about a Royal Wedding here, people.

Royal. Wedding.

Can you imagine what Pinkie Pie would say if they kept the biggest, most spectacular party in all of Equestria (yes, probably even bigger than the Gala) a secret?

On second thought, maybe it would be better if we didn't imagine that.

Trust me. It's better this way.

Skimming through EQD yesterday, I was surprised to see that Hasbro is actually planning to publish an actual, full page advertisement in tomorrow's edition of the New York Times in a bid to encourage adults to watch it (because little girls actually read the New York Times).

Why is Hasbro hyping this up so much? What can they achieve by advertising a children's show on an adult newspaper? Will people besides adults like us even care?

Not sure what Hasbro is trying to do here...

I've seen this before, so much hype, then it ends up being a complete letdown. I've seen this time and time again with so many other shows. It's honestly what I'm worried about with this Royal Wedding getup. I'm afraid it'll just let everypony down.

Maybe I should just have a little more faith...

When I hear that song, all I can think about is Shane McMahon.

Those who do not watch the show, but do show some interest outnumber bronies 3-1. People who don't know the show exist outnumber us to a much larger degree. Get more people to know, get more viewers, get more fans, get more sales, get more money.

Who the hell doesn't want more money?

Best thing ever?

I think i'll avoid the hype, lest i get tainted.

I'm looking forward to another MLP:FiM episode ... or two, and that's it.

Then, if it do exceed my expectations, it is a clear bonus :)

Yeah I have a feeling Hasbro's gonna troll the TV waves when it premieres...Either Cadence is Discord in disguise or Discord is gonna pop out of their cake shuffling.

And let's face it...Who WOULDN'T want Discord to pop out of their cake doing the shuffle?

Wow, that is a lot of hype. not that I mind, of course, it just seems a little odd.

Still can't wait to see it, but, alas, I'm going on a campout this weekend, so I'll have to wait on watching it 'til i get back. >_>

The New York Times?! That does seem a little bit like overkill...But I guess MLP:FIM has really taken off in pop culture, and while it's still mostly rampant on the internet, I guess they might be trying to expand its popularity IRL, too. The New York Times does seem a little weird, though...Then again, I don't know what the demographics of its readers, are. But, maybe that's the point--Hasbro is trying to make MLP the new Pokemon or Bugs Bunny or something--classic and universally known?

Haha well it is an awesome thing if they are! And if it's going to be in the newspapers that might be a good moment for bronies to explain to the parents that the show really is as popular as they tell them.
