music DragonForce - New Album

Marcato

Recommended Posts

Dragonforce is releasing a brand new album on April 17th! In only a couple days, they will release their new album, titled "The Power Within." I know what you're thinking, pretty terrible name. (And the track art isn't that impressive either.)

However they released one song early for the world to hear, as well as a music video for that song!

I personally am buying this album the day it comes out. Dragonforce is one of the cleanest bands of their kind, (Although their singer I can't say the same for) But they very rarely swear, which is something I appreciate, and when they do it barely counts as swearing.

Any Dragonforce fans out there? Discuss the new album here. :)

I used to like DragonForce, then I took an arrow to the... never mind. :P I kinda just lost interest in them, but it did tick me off when their old singer left the band.

I love Dragonforce but unlike most bands their music tends to stay the same no matter how many albums they put out. It gets a little tiring even though I love their music.

I still need to try to buy their albums instead of getting them from the library. xD

I could start with this one though, love this song Cry Thunder so far.

Their old singer was cool and all, but holy SHOOT he likes swearing on stage. I kid you not, he swore every sentence at least once. It's why I never bought the live album.

I think the album "Valley of the Damned" is underrated, and Through the Fire and the Flames is overrated. It's a good song and all, but really it's only huge because of guitar hero. They have many other better songs in my opinion.

I must agree with this, but their new singer is amazing. Some of their lyrics are really cool too. The all in all sound theme (Heroic/Intense) is a real nice theme to follow for those instruments, that I regret to say I don't here much of in clean music.

TTFAF is very overrated. My Spirit Will Go On is a better song imo (Even though TTFAF is the first Dragonforce song I knew thanks to Guitar Hero and I still love it)

That song really overshadows their other stuff.

I remember the days when everyone was all "DRAGONFORCE IS AWESOME CAUSE THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES LOLOLOLOL." That song sure as heck is overrated.

The thing is, I really just find them to be to insane, that band. Their stuff is too fast and complex for me to comprehend. I mean, don't get me wrong. I love a good complex guitar-riff song, but DragonForce seem to try way too hard, now that I think about it. I used to love them for that, but I've grown musically and listen to other, more creative things. So, uh, sorry if you find any of this insulting, I'm not trying to be. Just stating my opinion.

Dragonforce? Not bad. Got bored of them when they released Inhuman Rampage.

However, I can give them credit, because (as repetitive as I find their music) they know how to please their fans. Although compared to ZP, this new guy has some big shoes to fill.

Even in his profile page on the DF site before he left, his favourite things to do/interest involve, I quote, "FUCKING swearing".

Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds their music rather unchanging. xD

I saw that, and I was thoroughly ticked off at it, but I guess that's how he rolls. Their new singer isn't as bad, but he still swears. But ZP was just ridiculous.

There was only one song I did enjoy from IR - Body Breakdown, but even that can get dull.

Hmm... lead singer in a metal band swearing? What a shock! /sarcasm

To be honest, I don't understand why you get so caught up in swearing. While ZP has done it to the point where he gets the Douchebag stamp, everyone in just about almost every metal band swears. Whether it be in lyrics or during a live session where the front man wants you to "LOSE YOUR FUCKING MIND", it'll be there.

I know they swear usually, but I saw dragonforce as one of the clean ones since there was no direct swearing in their songs. But ZP did really go overboard with his language. At least in my opinion. I just don't like how much ZP did it that's all.

I got the new album today, since it just came on on this day! It is amazing I must say, definitely the best one yet! They really did a good job.

However the unfortunate thing is only one of the songs is 7 minutes, which is different from most other albums, and the others are 4 minutes. One or two are 5 minutes. But I don't blame them, everything is amazing! I am going to enjoy using this as inspiration for Roleplays, and stories!

I like Dragonforce, but I wish they'd try to add a bit more variety to their music. I'll probably get the new album sometime soon, I like Marc Hudson more than I thought I would. But for some reason, he looks like he belongs in a southern rock band to me.

The new album must be the least Dragonforcey album yet. I was expecting something more similar to Ultra Beatdown wich I totally loved, but it seems they've dropped the Futuristic/video game gimmick
