What are your thoughts and concerns on the recent out-break of the deadliest Drug Lord in Mexico?

Did the government back this up?

Was the Prison rigged in the Cartels favor?

What will be the implications of his escape?

Will this effect the world in a major way?

Do you think they will be able to re-capture him?

Is this the start of something bigger?

*sigh*

This is nothing new when it comes to Mexico. If it's not people being decapitated or police chiefs being gunned down in public, it's Mexico's oil being stolen by the hundreds of thousands of liters or the cartels bribing government officials, which causes the police and military to be incredibly underwhelmed in terms of equipment and manpower to actually battle the cartels on equal ground (which is pretty much impossible at this point - it goes without saying that the drug cartels are much more powerful than the Mexican military and police combined. For instance, most of Los Zetas (drug cartel) members are soldiers from the Mexican army).

  • Did the government back this up? - I wouldn't be surprised if some prison official was in on it.
  • Was the Prison rigged in the Cartels favor? - Same thing applies here.
  • What will be the implications of his escape? - New power struggles, more dead bodies.
  • Will this effect the world in a major way? - No, there will just be a new major player (re)entering the drug business. Like so many others before him. Rinse and repeat.
  • Do you think they will be able to re-capture him? - Probably, if a joint task force is sent after him.
  • Is this the start of something bigger? - A start of more bloodshed, like there isn't enough.

Do you believe there will ever be a solution? If so, what do you think should be done?

What are my thoughts? "Damn those people live in a really crap place of the world."

Did the government back it? Someone in an executive branch pulled a string. How high or how many accomplices there were, is uncertain.

Was the prison rigged? Somebody was able to give GPS precision guidelines to the tunneller, and arranged for the drug lord to be in that particular room.

Implications of his escape? I don't know, the US will build a bigger wall? Watch out China, the Stars and Stripes are coming for your bragging rights!

Will this effect the world in anyway? No it won't. It will however affect the world.

Will they recapture him? If by "re" you mean "pursue in a months-long man-hunt culminating in a high speed chase ending in an abandoned shack in the backwoods of Mexico" and by "capture" you mean "proceed to fill him up with lead as he goes on a Meth-induced shooting spree outside of aforementioned cabin", then yes, yes they will.

Is this the start of something bigger? It depends if he kills someone with a son named Inigo Montoya.

Do you believe Mexican Law Enforcement would shoot such a Deadly Cartel Leader without worrying for their own lives afterward?

Sadly, the cartels have amassed too much power and control over Mexico and South America in general over this short time span (I mean, we're talking 50 to 60 years). They have a lot of say in Mexico's doings, especially where they really shouldn't. I don't see them going anywhere, anytime soon, as the market is way too lucrative for anyone to back out of. And for every drug lord that falls, 10 more will take his place, ykno?

Would you say the Cartel Leader who escaped from Prison is of great value to these Cartels?

Well, since he's the current leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel (which is the most powerful and well organized drug cartel in the world), I can imagine his lackies couldn't be happier that their cynical and ruthless boss is back from the iron hotel.

Back to square one.

Do you believe people in Mexico were more scared now than they were before his escape?

With the people of Mexico functioning as the victims of the cartels drug war clash with government forces, I'd say Chapo's return is just more gasoline being added to the already lit fire.

Thank you for sharing you view on the subject Royce.

Do you suspect more Prison breaks to occur at the same prison?

With the amount of corruption in government it would seem impossible by today's standards.

Gee, reading news like this makes me feel quite disappointed at my country... One of the most dreaded crime lords is on the loose once more, as if all the economic crisis and rampant violence weren't enough

I hope things improve my friend but the recent escape only leads me to believe not.

Not to mention the economy is doing pretty badly too :(

They have suffered for too long.

This only make me more worried for my relatives who live in Mexico. Seems the place gets more and more dangerous each passing minute

The world can be a very dangerous place sometimes so we must be strong for whatever comes our way.

That would not surprise me in the least.

Guzman's escape isn't like the one in Shawshank Redemption. It wasn't some makeshift hole that led to a conveniently placed sewage pipe. In fact, there isn't anything makeshift about this tunnel at all.

Yes, that really is a motorcycle minecart. How astute.

What kind of prisoner could build something like this alone? It's completely impossible. And what's also impossible is the fact that something like this was constructed right underneath government property without anybody noticing, as well as the fact that despite being monitored 24/7 on CCTV, Guzman somehow got out with a long enough headstart to leave law enforcement in the dust.

There had to be some kind of inside man, at the very least.
