private AES: The Lost City (ended)

violet knew about her little...problem, by now. but. today was special.

 

she grinned, as she raised a glass. 'i can worry about that later.' she thought, "to caramel, our captain!" she cheered, downing the shot.

 

almost immediately, she started blushing, and her voice started to become slurred. 

 

"soooo....tell meh, when are we....hic....going to set sail?!" she asked, grinning widely.

"Well, I'm actually feeling great. Which may be weird considering I was stuck inside a high security prison for 5 years. The weirder thing is, I actually enjoyed my time there. There were some very interesting ponies I met and they were all so friendly. I mean, there were some fights and things like that but I was respected, I'm a well know criminal in these parts.'' Caramel said while taking a shot of rum, filling up another glass. She was proud to call herself a well know criminal now. She had learned a few thing while she was locked up.

 

Caramel looked at Violet as she spoke. "Oh yeah sailing. That will happen when we're all together again. Plus I got a big adventure for us ahead. Its gonna be some much fun!'' Caramel cheered while she put a hoof around Tyra.

Scarlett walks over and sits down in the booth with the others. "Aww, you bought drinks without me" she says before pulling a bottle of it out of her bag. "I hope you don't mind Caramel, but I started production of your rum as soon as I heard you had made it. I practically have a room ful of barrels of the stuff, and I put some in the stores of the ship."

 

She hears the door open and sees the pony from outside come in, but instead of doing anything with he information she took a glug of the rum; "Oh how I've waited to drink some more of this"

These conversations are starting to get somewhat interesting. A few new bits that he could add to his personal database. He brought out his files which contained some information about Caramel and a few of her Crew members. Reading the Braille and comparing the information to his current notes on them, he made sure that he learned everything he could. 'So, she calls herself a Well Known Criminal. Some people will use any title for that extra bit of publicity. Can't blame her really. And she is planning some sort of adventure. Depending on what this is, I may need to get involved in this directly.' He thought to himself as he drank his Griffin Vodka, continuing to listen.

She seemed to be a bit more excited than others. "Anyone ever heard of it?''

Scarlett looks shocked for a moment. "No, you don't mean..." Here eyes widen "No, no no no, you don't mean Atlantis do you? The Lost City Of Atlantis?"

 

She quickly casts a sound barrier round the table so that nopony else could hear them "Tell me more Caramel, I can't wait to hear it!"

"*Tsk* Two way Noise barriers. No matter, I have what I came here for. And some direct intervention is required." Wade wrote a letter to Caramel on a piece of paper which said:

 

"As my Intel has come to gather, it appears that you may be planning some forms of expedition to a lost city call Atlantis. Am I wrong? I don't know how much you understand of this city, but I can tell you now that you do not know enough. A city built in the ways of Old have defences that you have no idea how to counter. All of your crew and yourself will be dead within 10 minutes of entering the city. I can help you. If you are interested in actually surviving this crazy quest of yours, meet me at Midnight tonight on the Eastern Harbor, dock 4. Bring your entire crew with you.

Wade handed the letter to the bartender with specific instructions to hand the letter to Caramel once the barrier they set up dropped. "Do not mess this up." With that, Wade took his documents and left the bar.

 

(Mind if I control a Stallion or two at this bar for a short time?)

With Wade completely ignorant to this, Scarlett was watching. She saw him take a letter to the bar and talked to the bartenders. "Damn two way sound barrier" she muttered under her breath, but in a moment she could have sworn that she say him mouth Caramel's name.

 

She took a quick picture on her cmr and went back to the conversation as it searched records.

 

(Go ahead Dark, we all need to take control of a couple of "NPC's" every now and again for story progression)

"Ahh, I have heard of this legend!" Tyra chirped, almost as excited as Caramel, "seafaring ponies and griffons speak fondly of it! From what I have gathered, it is an old civilisation beneath the very ocean itself, home to many treasures!"

 

She took another drink of rum and let out a burp before continuing.

"I have been interested in discovering this legend myself, but I have not yet found the way to."

"Indeed, ATLANTIS!" Caramel cheered as she saw the great city in front of her. "I've heard many stories about it as if it was a legend. But I'm tellin ye, it ain't just stories. The legends are true. I've been told a great treasure lies in the heart of Atlantis. Gold, jewelry and even diamonds. This mate from prison also told me there is this ancient magical sword hidden with the treasures. Now that, I want to get me hooves on. The only problem is how we're gonna get there. The books say we gotta go to Tall Tale, near Vanhoover. So yeah I'm pretty excited! So are ye with me?"

Tyra hopped onto her hind hooves and grabbed her once-again captain in a tight hug, grinning ear to ear.

"I am with you, friend!" She squeaked, "It has been too long since we have travelled the oceans together!"

 

She released her and pumped her hoof with a determined smirk.

"Do not worry about getting there," She assured her, "Where there is a will there is a way, as they say here!"

"Caramel, I am so up for this! Though I must say it'd be nice to see it before, you know what nevermind."

 

Scarlett grins and puts a hoof in the middle of the table "So, gather any more of the old crew we can find and then find the Lost City of Atlantis, seems easy enough. Lets do this."

When Caramel came up to the bar, the bartender took the bottle of rum and then gave the letter to her as instructed, before tending the other customers.

 

One of the Stallions that was sitting close to where Caramel was, moved over to her and started talking.

 

Drunk Stallion; "Hey Lady? Don't mean to intrude much, but I think you might wanna be careful when you is walkin' about now. Did you see that weird lookin' stallion in the corner, the one with Bandages over his eyes? I may be wrong, but I thinks 'e was followin' you. He's one of 'em ministry boys. Workin' for 'The Government'. I don't trust 'em non. They conspiring somethin'. And all of us, will be bit in the ass."

 

Sober Stallion: "Don't mind this guy. He talks a lot of Crap when 'es drunk. I wouldn't pay much mind to this drunk Git. He did get one thing right, you're being followed by a Government Scholar. Strange bunch. Harmless though, don't worry about nothing."

(Hey, sound bubble got burst in an episode once so I don't see why not!)

 

Scarlett stands up with Caramel and follows her to the bar. After hearing what the bartender had to say she adds "He did seem awfully suspicious, he was looking at us outside as well. He is a Scholar of some sort, but he was definitely focused on you. My guess is that he works for the prison for some reason."

Caramel ignored the two stallions who in her opinion were bothering her a lot. Normally, she would punch stallions like this in the face but she had friends with her. She did not want them to see her darker side. She grabbed the letter from the nervous Tender behind the bar and nodded at Scarlett's statement. She read the letter before ripping it apart and throwing it somewhere on the ground. "Midnight tonight, the Eastern Harbor, dock 4.'' she mumbled softly to herself. "Alright everypony! Get yer flanks moving, We are going to Vanhoover!''

Tyra followed Caramel toward the door, raising her eyebrow at the drunken stallion. She had seen many of his type, though he was much quieter, and less violent, than the drunks back home.

 

"Government scholar?" She repeated, cocking her head, "I have never heard of such a thing..."

 

She nodded at Caramel's order. "Vanhoover, aye! 'Tis a fine city, and closer to home as well!"

Scarlett looks quite confused. "Vanhoover? Why are we going to Vanhoover? That's nowhere near the ship."

 

A brief look of realisation flashes over her eyes "Has that scholar asked you to meet him there? Because if so, why are we going?"

 

She follows Caramel, and if anypony was paying attention they would have seen Scarlett grab the letter and put it in her saddlebag.

"No...he has not asked to meet me." Caramel said lying about what was in the letter. (that was ripped into pieces so I don't know why Scarlett grapped it) "We're going to Vanhoover because Tall Tales lies near and that is where we can find a clue about Atlantis. I recommend we take the train tomorrow morning." Caramel said as she walked through the door, outside. The stars where already hanging in the sky as was the moon. "So uhm..I'm gonna go find us a hotel. I'll be right back."

Scarlett is suspicious, but knowing her own nature she just ignores it. She follows Caramel outside and says "I'm coming with you Caramel, I'll pay for the hotel if you don't mind."

 

She lifts her saddlebags flap and pulls out a bag of money "I believe this belongs to you"

"thank ye!'' Caramel said as she took hold of the bag with bits. Normally she would refuse such an offer but she was a bit short on money at the moment which left her no choice. She trotted over to the nearest but decent hotel. She walked inside, towards the desk where a beautiful mare was sitting. "Hello there, could I get 4 rooms please." Caramel said with a smile. "Sure, there are three rooms left on the second floor and another one room at the fourth floor. I hope that isn't a problem. Here ye go." the mare said, handing over (hoofing over?) the keys. "You may after use." she said with a soft voice. Caramel nodded. "Thank you my dear.'' she said as she started to walk upstairs.

"I cannot wait to see the others again," She said to whoever would be listening, "I missed exploring the oceans with you all!"

 

She watched as Caramel received the keys and followed her upstairs. "What is our plan of action, my friend? Do we wait here for somepony to arrive? Or do we look around for clues to this lost city's whereabouts?"

Scarlett began to wonder where Rave was. Was that really him she had seen on the building or just her mind playing tricks.

Rave was standing outside hotel. He decided that he would not go inside as it was late and it might only attract unwanted attention. He was used to sleep under the open sky. He teleported onto the roof of the hotel and laid down there. "Until tomorrow" he said to himself.
