Dark Horse 12,971 August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 I can only imagine the uproar that would happen if this were to occur. For better or worse, I don't think the show would be quite the same again. Personally, I wouldn't see the point of it all. I don't think it's in any of their desires to become Alicorns, what could it possibly do for their characters? Such a move would be done purely just to make noise. "Always watching - Always lurking." Silver Letter 1,832 August 25, 2015 Share August 25, 2015 This is kind of a big issue I have with them focusing on cutie marks so much lately and treating them like destiny like how they were in the S3 finale. I thought that cutie marks were always a form of destiny, not a suggestion. One can't just go against their cutie mark and what they get is what they do in life. That is why cutie marks are so important in Equestria. Silver Letter!!! Swifty 249 August 26, 2015 Share August 26, 2015 By their looks, i don't care. Only a horn and wings will be Access. Thats all. There would be too many princesses there, though. The writers better should think of something different than princesses.

This seemed wrong to me though; what if a Pony has a passion for something, and then decides later in life that they want to do something different? For example, Shining armor used to be the captain of the guard, and its shown that he dreamed of being a guardspony all his life, but now he's the ruler of a kingdom. Was he just doing things "wrong" for the first part of his life? Cutie marks representing destiny just always rubbed me the wrong way because it implies that there's one job for them to do in life and all other occupations are "Wrong". When a cutie mark just represents your talent and your personality, there's no chains of destiny, you're free to decide what you want to DO with your abilities.

Though, I don't expect this to happen until the last season before the pony movie whose leaks...... insinuate alicorns will play a mayor role there Sig by Discords

When a cutie mark just represents your talent and your personality, there's no chains of destiny, you're free to decide what you want to DO with your abilities. I always saw cutie marks to have more to do with one's general direction in life rather than ability as a concrete thing. It's still destiny but not in the sense that you say it? I see Cheerilee as having a symbolic cutie mark. She more or less says that about hers, that it's one that represents smiling children. Teaching is just the greatest outlet for expressing her talents and representing her cutie mark. With Shining Armor, perhaps his destiny is to be a royal guardian but not necessarily a guard. One better guardian is there than a prince that can guard an empire and his wife? I think "Cutie Pox" makes it seem like the cutie marks are all about doing one thing but that can't really be the case if one can do different things like Shining Armor can. But a cutie mark can't be changed and only comes through realization. It's an important and fundamental thing. Twilight Sparkle's was important to her life and very symbolic to her ascension. The other five would lack all that if Hasbro gave them wings and a horn. 1 Silver Letter!!! I'm pretty sure he's still doing what has always been doing seemingly as the royal members are pretty much the strongest guards of their kingdom like Celestia, Luna and Twilight for instance. Wind Chaser 4,768 August 27, 2015 Share August 27, 2015 It wouldn't be necessary, and I highly doubt Hasbro or anyone else would order such a thing. The other five, as of "Twilight's Kingdom", have been elevated into a more active role in the show to offset much of the imbalance Twilight's ascension caused, so no further titles, wings, or horns would be necessary. No. I'm sure most ponies follow their cutie mark or do something that utilizes their special talent in some way (unless they don't enjoy it for whatever reason), but I'm also sure they don't have to. The writers have been pretty inconsistent with cutie marks, but I'm sure that they are representative of your special talent, and not something that controls your life or dictates what you must do. This is not to say that the cutie mark system is insignificant, but the notion of them being some life dictating force that you must obey is, well, to put it bluntly, nonsense. The ponies very clearly do have free will. Edited August 27, 2015 by Vixor
Joe Biden 31 August 27, 2015 Share August 27, 2015 (edited) I think it would be really amazing but..as for season 5 well i don't think they will i mean there was build-up to the ending of season 4 and there does not seem to be that kind of hinting or anything,so no i don't think they will no matter how much i would love it :C Edited August 28, 2015 by Blue Moon
Unlikeable Pony 2,700 August 29, 2015 Share August 29, 2015 Another reason this seems unlikely; The cards reference the other 5 as Ambassadors of their elements. They already have titles it seems, while twilight is the leader/princess that they'd be under. So that makes the other 5 being raised up seem unlikely seeing as they already HAVE positions. (and the only reason they'd be given positions to be referred to as is simply to try and make things seem less lopsided, which would be unneccessary if they were planning any coronations of the other 5)
cmarston1 5,964 August 29, 2015 Share August 29, 2015 I wouldn't really want to see that. Not only adding that many more alicorns be overkill and make them seem less special but I don't really see how it would work for the rest of the mane 6's character arches for that to happen. For Twilight, becoming an alicorn princess actually did make sense. She was the star student of the ruler of equestria for several years, which something not many ponies can say they were, has incredible magical abilities to the point that she was the most powerful unicorn in a thousand years (since Starswirl the Bearded) due to having magic be her special talent, and is or was the element of magic (the most important element) and was the main pony responsible for rediscovering the elements of harmony and defeating Nightmare Moon. (and the fact her element was a tiara did hint at her becoming a princess). Plus Twilight was intended to become Celestia's successor anyways. But Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack just don't have any of that going for them.

Well, unless the rest of the Mane6 are Twi's students and helpers in spreading friendship, that could give them some alicornication at a later time Sig by Discords
Jeremiah 1,586 August 31, 2015 Share August 31, 2015 So what if the mane five all become alicorns at the end of season 5? Would it be appropriate to advertise the new alicornized mane five toys during the credits? I mean what if the Cutie Map's purpose was to turn them into alicorns? How and why would the map do that? That seems out of place...
Unlikeable Pony 2,700 August 31, 2015 Share August 31, 2015 Twilight's also called an ambassador. Ah derp, I thought she had a princess of friendship card for that set >.< NM. How and why would the map do that? That seems out of place... yeah there's no rhyme or reason for the map to do that when the purpose of the season is cutie marks.
