movies/tv Character who always has bad episodes?

I don't think there's a single spike episode that I like, and only 1 AJ episode that I like, but that one was bats, which was split between AJ and my fave character Fluttershy, so maybe I only tolerate AJ in that episode because of the other pony it's focused on.

Also, I know the series has been finished for many years now, but in Lost, there was never a Kate episode that I liked, she just seemed to be there as a love interest and nothing else, her episodes were boring.

Um... Fluttershy, because it kills me when she cries whenever anything goes wrong.

(Don't hate on me)

Spike definitely seems to get the thin end of the wedge when it comes to episodes.

That's true, because he screws everything up.

Without a doubt, Spike. Yes, he had great secondary roles, but in almost every episode where he's the central character, it's about finding his place in Equestria. But the way they're executed sucks in every episode but one: Secret of My Excess. Currently, there's only one other good Spike episode: Inspiration Manifestation.

Second is Fluttershy. Dragonshy, Green Isn't Your Color, and Hurricane Fluttershy are really good, but episodes like A Bird in the Hoof, Putting Your Hoof Down, and Bats! are among her worst. The former due to a slow pace, Philomena acting like a jerk, and a weak moral. The middle for the obvious. The latter for putting her completely in the right even though Applejack had much more solid reasons to remove the bats.

He's a great supporting character, and he's normally very well done, but for some reason it all goes to pot when they make him the focus of an episode.

Not that I think his episodes are bad per se, just not as good as most of the others.

Can you name 3 good Spike episodes?

Who are you talking to?

Can you quote next time?

If you're talking to me, I can't say, because I haven't watched all of Season 1 or 2.

What do you think makes Spike hard to write?

He's a great character, it can't be that he's just fundamentally unsuitable to be the focus of an episode.  But maybe because he's usually being written as a sidekick it may be that the writers have some sort of problem trying to adjust the focus onto him, so he's still being written as a sidekick even when he's in the spotlight.

Who, in your opinion are characters that always seem to have bad episodes?

Well, characters like Spike from FiM seem like obvious candidates, but of all of the episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation that I have seen (and I have not seen all of them) Wesley Crusher would get my vote. Most of the time he was so annoying; especially when he was a central character.

I must say, that the most Spike episodes are not good in my eyes. I mean, it's always the same, he want to help, he overreacts and its ends in a disaster. I don't like this and it's boring.

From the Mane 6, I don't have a character who have the most worst episodes. I don't like Pinkie so much because of her crazy and random character, but a lot of the episodes with her in the major role are good (except for to many Pinkie Pies and the baby cake episode).

Would you say that's part of the reason Spike episodes are seen as bad? Because they're the same thing over and over?

Who's Kate? I have no idea what you're talking about.

I would more say that I don't like it, that Spike is often the fool. I wish he get an episode where he do a really hero thing like in the S3 opening (but that wasn't a pure Spike episode) because I like him (he is an important companion for Twilight). And yes, it's a little bit boring for me, that his episodes often the same, but it's more that he is often the character who overact.

Spike. I was hoping he'd get a bit of improvement when Princess Spike came along, but I was sorely mistaken, and it's probably one of my most hated episodes from season five. He has a lot of potential for good character development, but they seem to throw it to the side for whatever reason. Here's to hoping that season five will produce a good Spike episode somewhere down the line.
