Top 3 in no specific order.

  • The Owl House
  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

My absolutely no question about it top 3-ish favorite cartoons of all-time are:

1. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic/ My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale

2. The Ghost and Molly McGee

Aside from horse barbie cartoon and ATHF, I think I'm going to go with: Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Pulling off horror and comedy at all can be difficult; doing so within the limitations of an early 2000's Cartoon Network format without sacrificing either is noteworthy.

There are definitely weak episodes, but I'm still impressed by how fresh and unique the good ones feel. With a surreal atmosphere, a distinct visual style and some daring concepts, CtCD still manages to hold its own even today. Always an oddball and like Courage himself almost abandoned in infancy, it survived long enough to mature without overstaying its welcome.

Ominous and distinct while remaining generally light-hearted, there really isn't much to compare it to even all these years later.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, it does a good job at satirically referencing a lot of folklore/mythology sometimes in a cryptic and subtle way that is very funny yet still dark and interesting.

I like the way the character archetypes play off each other, and the way I kind of see it is like an "As told by Mandy" perspective of the then present time.

It can be gross & edgy & have shock factor, rarely but sometimes wholesome and it is also very funny.

Hmmm. Well, I guess it would hav eto be Dragonball as of lately given how much I've seen recently.

Also Rick and Morty. Haven't seen it in a while. Hoping the next season is out soon  .

Eh I am not too keen on Dragonball lately, the ineptitude of the characters and letting Frieza stay alive despite he will never reform and will continue to be a problem for everybody else shows just how bad Goku and Vegeta are at their job in the story. Why don't they (Toei) just write in new villains? at least when they made Dragonball GT they got creative with villain designs.

I cannot stand Zeno either, he is annoying.

I'm more into Transformers and My Little Pony FIM. Even with Transformers Cybertron, a universe would only be potentially be wiped out as a result of a spatial distortion caused by the Unicron Singularity. Optimus Prime could not have seen that coming after defeating Unicron on their last encounter, it's a different situation than some god getting angry and then erasing universes because they could not control their temper.

when it is not action and adventure based animations, I watch slapstick like Ed Edd n Eddy and Looney Tunes, and while ineptitude of the characters is a recurring theme in shows like that, that is intended and it adds to the comedy, it works here.

The first three seasons of Spongebob are near and dear to me, so that would be my top pick. There simply haven't been many other cartoon shows that have left such an impact on me. One of my other favourites though? Code Lyoko, and my love for it is rather recent. A friend of mine introduced me to it a few years ago, and we watched the entire series (Evolution doesn't count) over the course of 2 and a half years, we took our time with it. It is honestly great. If I had known about it in its prime, I would've fallen in love with it back then. Odd would've also been an early crush of mine. :P The entire show is officially on Youtube for free for anyone that is ever curious. Really hope it can get a reboot or continuation at some point. It would have way more relevance now than back in 2003, with the advancements of technology.

Scooby-Doo Where Are You is another honorable mention.

Got no disagreement there, Code Lyoko is something I used to watch repeatedly back in the day. I don't remember all the details of it however there was an artificial intelligence in a VR world that had to be stopped, and they had to do all this without anyone else at their school knowing. Each character that went into Lyoko had their set of weapons to use, but if they die in the VR world, they die for real and they had to be constantly on the move to avoid Xana's machines.

That is another example of drama sequences working well in animation.

From the list provided in the OP I’m surprised there are so few I’ve actually seen. So from that list my favorite would be MLP. Aside from the list I would add:

Tiny Toon Adventures,

Animaniacs,

Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers,

Tangled: The Series,

The Little Mermaid (series),

Monsters vs Aliens (series).

That’s my shorter list.
