Cumulus used his dagger to quickly move the katana out of the way. For the moment, the katana seemed to be regular steel and not displaying the powers she had earlier. Cumulus then countered with a kick at her chest with an aggressive grunt.

Tricis, in the meantime, was watching the fight with the same outward interest she had displayed before. Mentally, she was evaluating both fighters. If the mare can't adapt, this isn't going to last long.

@@Literally Snails,

Sederia was sitting in the bar on a stool near the Pegasus. She looked angry and grumbled to herself about how everything seemed to be going wrong. Hence, why she was busy drinking in the first place. "Stupid ponies and their stupid security....why does no one care..."

Jade quickly noticed that her sword wasn't glowing like it had been before. That momentary shock got her a kick in the chest, sending her sliding back a bit. She shook her head and began quickly evaluating Cumulus.

Incredibly forward and aggressive. His defence is full of holes.

Now in full focus, she started ducking and weaving the stallion's blows, and used any exposure to his advantage by aiming a kick to his limbs or chest.

Kronos got off the train onto his destination by the name of "Bangcolt". When he arrived, he tried his best not to make such a huge impression, however the fact that he stood up on two legs alone made that really difficult. He could already feel everyone there staring at him like he was some sort of freak. If his posture wasn't bad enough, he also had metal arms with claws and a bunch of scars on his body. But, his most noticeable feature was his pure-white, mechanical left eye with a large and visible scar on it. He looked around until he heard a huge commotion coming from what appeared to be a coliseum. Hmm? he thought, Is that a gladiatorial arena? He went up to the stadium. He saw that there was someone there that he assumed was some sort of recruiter.

"Hello?" he asked when he went up to the pony at the gates, "Is this a place where we can sign up for gladiatorial match-ups?"

Hiding, really? By our magic link Sparky was providing me with observational and power data. I had another pair of eyes, ones that didn't need to truly see to know where my opponent was. Sparky already knew where Caliber was. I directed the mechataur to run up and slash the spot of floating orbs vigorously. That should surprise him.

The glint of the sun on the almost chrome-like appearance created a sun glare effect. If he fell for it, the oncoming slashes would make short work.

Caliber was bouncing between orbs, avoiding the dangerous ones, before a shattering blow that blew apart a cluster of orbs sent him flying, as he barely caught himself on a plant-based one. Staring at the wreckage, the duel lightning swords, slashing at the orbs--and coming towards him, he couldn't help but wonder...How in the buck did she know where he was!?

He snarled, as his horn flickered. A familiar orange aura would start to surround him...And he concentrated on moving the flow of power, along the length of his body. Feeling the surge of power in his limbs, before bolting off, bouncing between orbs as if he were a pinball, heading ever so upwards, his gaze locked on the largest, dormant orb in the area--a gargantuan mass of an unknown element...But it looked destructive. A swirling, self-sustaining star of...Something. Void extract? It didn't matter exactly what it was, all Caliber knew was that it would pack a heavy punch.

As he flipped onto the surface, his first reaction was a scream of pain. The moment his hooves were exposed to the element, his skin under the thin veil of fur began to blister, and burn...His reaction was quickly stopped by him clenching his jaw. He couldn't give up, because of a little pain, that made him deaf to the small daggers still slicing at his fur. He had to enact his plan. His aura thickened, almost starting to become visible, before he jammed his blade into the orb--and using it almost as a lightning rod, expended his buff through it, into the orb...His magic shot through it, spreading as if it were roots, and as Caliber had hoped, did one thing.

It disrupted the flow of the gravitational magic held within.

The orb began to drop, slowly, towards the minotaur, as Caliber took this moment to bounce off from the harmful exposure, landing on a wooden orb a few meters back, resting, for now...Hoping that this would be the end-game move.

"Easy. This is Bangcolt, kid, the right place. We're obliged to tell you that it's a dangerous place. Have fun..."

Cumulus seemed visibly frustrated by Jade's ability to dodge his attacks, only adding to how sloppy his defenses were. The kick was a direct hit to his chest. Sending him backwards in a way to where he would have landed on his head if he didn't have his wings to maintain his balance. The stallion stopped his assault and squared off across from her, spitting up a wad of blood nonchalantly. "Come on, a kick?" He mocked, as if he arrogantly wanted his opponent to be stronger. "Let's see that glowing blade. I know you can do better than this!"

Heh, dangerous, Kronos thought to himself as he chuckled, I'm more dangerous than anything that the world has to throw at me. Kronos noticed two cloaked ponies, but thought nothing of it. He simply continued onward to the arena that he went and signed up for in the first place. As he strolled through the chamber, he showed off by stomping the ground, sending a chunk of the ground flying in the air and smashed it in front of him. He wasnt trying to be subtle, that much was true.

@, @@Literally Snails,

Agririon was about to respond when a flare of dragon fire signaled the appearance of a sealed letter. He glanced over to the letter, picked it up, and looked at it for a few seconds before opening it and reading it- before bursting out laughing. "Ha! Arrigorn! Poor mare can't even say my name properly, it seems. Apparently, I'm the king of that one fantasy land in your movies now." He looked away before turning back with a scraggy beard superimposed over his face. "The time may come when the courage of ponies fail, but that day is not this day! This day we fight!" He snickered as the beard vanished in a puff of energy and was absorbed back into his body. "All jokes aside, I guess that's my cue. See ya around, sweetums. Try not to get too bored in my absence."

As he walked out of the bar, he passed the poor stallion who was making a fool out of himself. "Poor kid. Can't even hold his drink," he snarked before departing for the arena.

@@crispy fries, @@Fractured,

After a rather... polite conversation with the clerk ("It's A-G-R-I-R-I-O-N, for future reference."), Agririon made his way into the area before the arena. He took a moment to record his equipment and some of his more obvious abilities- for the record books- before adjusting his Wraithcloak and stepping into the arena.

Equipment:

Wraithcloak: An otherworldly cloak that allows him to maintain a corporeal form. It is extremely damage resistant, however, it can be damaged. Any attacks blocked by his wraithcloak he still feels the full effects of, but is not damaged by- for instance, getting a full blast from the 4-gauge shotgun will send him flying and will tear many holes into his wraithcloak, but he will not be injured directly. Magical attacks are significantly more effective than physical attacks- although with sufficient force, anything could work.

The wraithcloak is immune to anything that would forcibly remove it from Agririon.

Scythe of Vyse: A scythe that Agririon is quite proficient in. Has a vorpal edge- it will ignore all but the strongest armor and can cut through any normal weapon with ease. He cannot destroy magical weapons with the scythe, and, due to the whole 'honor' thing he likes to do in duels like these, will not destroy the target's last weapon unless they have displayed clear magical abilities, treating the weapon as magical for the purposes of the destruction of the weapon. At Agririon's discretion, they may transform into a pair of sickles- the Sickles of Vyse- with the same effect.

For the purposes of the Arena, the Scythe has been rendered nonlethal. It will still open wounds, but they are temporary; as soon as the battle is over, the Scythe will heal their wounds, rendering there to be no need to visit the infirmary afterwards. This can be quite jarring to someone who was split in half, only to find that afterwards they were instantly healed of their supposively lethal wounds! A surreal experience, to be sure.

Lesser Hourglass of Time: A device that only works in the hands of those who are attuned to it. It can temporarily speed up/slow down time for any targets in a 50-yard area. (1 round per activation, 4 round cooldown) The speed up/slow down effect is universal for all targets, but Agririon may choose if he is affected by a particular zone or not.

Spirit Bomb: Agririon carries six such devices- three each of two different kinds. He may throw them like grenades, or he can plant them like mines, or set a specific trigger condition. However, once he has set the condition of exploding, he cannot change it until the battle is over. Two of them are explosive- they deal large amounts of damage over a medium area. Two of them are stun crystals- they create a blinding flash and a loud noise. If the target is within 5 feet, the explosion causes heavy damage, however, it has a very small blast radius. If the target is within ~ 30 feet and looking in the general direction of the explosion, they are completely blinded for a round. If the target is within 50 feet of the blast, they are deafened by the blast for a round. Agririon, being a spirit, is immune to the blind, but will take damage from the explosion if he flubs the throw and will still be deafened.

Abilities:

Magic: Despite his job, Agririon does not use death magic. He has some minor shadow spells used to assist him in stealth, and has the ability to teleport short distances. Agririon can also perform some minor shapeshifting, however, he cannot change the fact that his body is made of spirit energy and, no matter the face or body or voice he takes, he will always be bright green. He cannot use telekinesis or light spells, however, he ignores his own shadow spells for sight and stealth purposes.

Spirit: Agririon is a spirit taken corporeal form. Thus, he does not need to sleep, eat, or breathe, and is immune to effects that force him to or rely on him sleeping, eating, or breathing. He floats roughly 6 inches off the ground at all times and exerts no downwards pressure unless he wishes too- allowing him to ignore all pressure-triggered traps. In addition, his body glows bright green if he does not blatantly hide his presence by disguising it in one of his shadow spells.

Agririon is still hurt by attacking his physical body, though his cloak helps mitigate that. He did assume a corporeal form to fight, after all.

The Hunt: At the beginning of battle, Agririon will mark a single target. Other than a sinking feeling of dread, the target is not aware of the mark in any way, shape or form, nor can it be purged except by defeating Agririon. The mark is a method of location: Agririon will always know the location and rough outline of the target, even if blinded, deafened, or otherwise disabled- however, the mark does not see any gear or weapons they are carrying, merely a rough outline of their build and form. This mark offers no benefits other than the targets location. If the target uses a spell such as assuming a gaseous form, the mark is seen as a small red ball that moves with the central mass of the target. He may only mark one target per battle, even if in tag team or free for all battles, and he cannot mark any of the Princesses, Elements, or Discord.

As he opened the gate and strolled in humming, his voice became deeper as he seemed to billow to fill his cloak. He flicked his foreleg forward, revealing a scythe, as he opened a small portal. "You know," he commented, "I've looked up a bit about you, and let me say I'm not a fan of anyone who forced me to do my job, retired or not." As he said this, he pulled a skull mask out of the miniature portal to Mortus and quietly affixed it to his head as he awaited the inevitable return snark from this pony, his body beginning to energize and glow bright green as he did so.

Raze looked at Agririon as he left, then sighed.

"Still the same quirky wraith he always was..." he said to himself, then decided to leave the bar so he could head back to the arena. He headed back to the lobby to view the screens there. He was watching both Ivory's fight and Agririon's.

@,

"Yeah? And what job might that be?" asked Redwood.

She was significantly less equipped than Agririon. Aside from her prized shotgun, Redwood had her tactical vest, which would afford her some protection. In addition, she used it to store plenty of ammo, a few grenades, and a combat knife.

Redwood was simply an earth pony too, and thus had nothing in the way of abilities.

@@crispy fries,

His mask seemed to settle into roughly where his face is before spinning his scythe around in a circle around his side, creating a kaleidoscope of color next to him while waiting for the announcer. "Let's just say chasing down a village's worth of souls is neither fun nor entertaining, and certainly not a unique experience for anyone involved," he commented. "But I thought that the glowing green body, skull mask, scythe, black spooky cloak, and the whole 'Death' motive would give it away, stereotypical and edgy or not. Nice looking shotgun, by the way. Four, six, or eight-gauge? Always get them confused based appearances alone."

After a few moments, the door would open, leading into the main lobby where gladiators would plan fights, and pick out arenas. A pony with a rather amused expression held the door open for the two. "Sure you don't need help walking?" He snickered.

Soon, a new arena overtook the sand dune. It was a mountain-top--one that was unnaturally flat. Roughly a hundred meters or so in diameter...Small items were scattered across the top, along with a tree growing in the middle.

"Aie..." Ivory Star jumped back, but didn't have the time to make a full get away. She only had time to conjure a single tiny, vibrating shield, before she was pressed under the full weight of the ice tiger. She bit back a groan of annoyance.

"Okay. Too heavy to move. I could just blast it apart, but..." Muttering thoughts and plans under her breath, she distantly came to one, and decided to run with it. Her horn began to glow, causing the entire tiger to simultaneously glow silver, and vibrate with a startling intensity. "This'll be so much more fun."

"And...!" With a kick for emphasis, as it was mostly the telekinesis that did all of the work, Ivory Star sent the now glowing tiger flying back at Ice Blizzard. Releasing the magic along the way, all of the pent up energy that she had stored inside unleashed at once, detonating in a massive dry explosion that flung razor sharp ice shards for several dozen yards. "Okay..." She gritted her teeth through the strain of holding the shell; playing by limits, those things really put a pressure on her. "Attack, defend, evade..." Concentrating, she began to draw more force into the shell, increasing the rate of the vibrations. "Plan..." Around her, the ice began to melt on contact as the sides rubbed against it to agitate it, leaving only the parts that hadn't touched the shield intact. Safe now, she dropped the shield, and counterattcked, throwing a disk of explosive compressed energy his way. It would detonate as soon as it made contact with solid material, with the force of a hand grenade.
