Raze looked at the both of them with an expression of annoyance, then took a deep breath.

"Your sarcasm is... duly noted," he said. "But seriously, can't you just keep quiet if you're gonna be little brats about it? And on the note of skateboards..." He pulled out from his saddlebags five money pouches of 200 bits each, adding up to a total of 1000 bits, which he earned from a fairly recent mercenary job he had undertaken. He tossed them to Jack.

"There. And a bit extra for you to get out of my business."

Double narrowed her eyes at Raze, her tail lashing with annoyance. Even her wings ruffled, and she barely used them. Did he really think he could buy them off like that?

"Tch," she huffed, tapping her hoof on the ground, "we ain't abandoning our buddy here for a few bits, y'know."

@@Fractured,

Ice had followed them through the portal. While they were busy talking among themselves, he was busy writing some things down on a notepad with a pencil in his mouth. "Hm..." On the other side, he looked up at them, "Well when you live where you get goosebumps when you breathe the air, you get used to it after a while." He walked over to them, "Before you girls start, I got a question: How would a shooter game like paintball or laser tag sound for a game night in Bangcolt? Like...a shooter type thing with blasters that shoot apples, walnuts, peas, sequins, apples, and stuff like that?"

A long pause, then his maple eyes blinked a few times, "If you can't already tell I'm a sucker for these types of things, which makes me wonder what type of battle this is gonna be between you two."

After her boss had left, Nadelle went right back to work. "Y-yes!" She immediately ran to her office where she bean to review patient documents...

"And to think, she's talking to a pretty much braindead, undead pirate, as if she expects insulting him to do something."

"Hey, not 'braindead'...He can still think, and everything, its just that maybe petty insults wont work."

"I don't even think she realizes his reign was pre-Griffonstone."

"Shows just how fast she thinks--doesn't even double-check her facts."

"'Thinking at the speed of light'...SOMEone's read too many fantasy novels."

"Hey, hey, maybe she's not kidding. Maybe her thoughts physically zip through that bucket of bolts she calls a head at the speed of light."

A collective laugh.

"He's going to die, y'know."

"Oh please, he's already dead. She's been beating a dead horse since the first blow."

He growled, when it did minimal damage, and she sprouted how much it would take to properly cause an injury, and went on to ridicule him. Although, to his mind, he registered only one thing.

A necessity for 29,000 pounds of force.

As she pulled the triggers, oddly enough, her semi-automatic rifle didn't fire--only a single round shot, which scraped past his cheek. In her little speech, he had ejected the ammo clip, and slid it away in his pocket for future use. The shotgun was evaded by a quick flip into the air, landing a ways from her.

"...Future of warfare, huh?" He raised his head, to blatantly laugh at her. "You're a piece of metal...That relies on what ponies have apparently created, inventions so simple that a hatchling could figure out how it works, so long as it's demonstrated a few times. You pull triggers, and use your shelling as armor to block attacks. But here's the thing...Those are nothing new."

"You're nothing more then a cheap knock-off, of what already exists."

His gaze drifted to the post, in the middle of the ship. At the railings. At the floor wood...

He took a swig of the mystery liquid. Rose a claw, and smashed the floor under him--dumping him into the dark cellar of the ship, where he could presumingly begin to hide...

Suddenly, he began to feel his legs wobbling, and the dizziness began to grow stronger.

"So... keep your trap shut, you... you..." he began to speak, then crumpled on the floor, clutching his head.

"Ugh..." he said. "I don'... feel sogood..." he slurred his words, and he had a hard time focusing on his surroundings. This was the same feeling he had felt when he had kept Thanatos out for too long.

Agh... Did I overdo it again? he thought. Maybe... Ah, crap this is nauseating... Just how long can I have him out...?! It seemed there was still much more Raze needed to know about this newfound power of his.

"She expects to punch a ship until it sinks? In the bow?"

"She's dedicated, I'll give her that much."

"Back with the math!"

"Didn't notice you even left."

"Oh ha-ha, Mercia. Anyways, it'll take two solid hours if she keeps at it like this."

"And something tells me she isn't even gonna try anything else..."

"Well, duh! Who in their right mind would try to fight a pirate, inside his own ship?"

It would be slow-going, understandably, trying to punch the ship enough to make an actual difference. The more holes she made, however, the more she realized just what part of the ship she was making a hole in--grain was pouring out, dumping into the ocean. Bags, hundreds of pounds of the stuff, all leaking a steady trail out from the ship. Which in due time, might attract a hungry critter or two...

But mainly, scuffling around was heard in a room a few meters away--near the middle-side of the ship, as she punched away.

Lorec, ever silent until words took precedence of actions, found his scolding gaze concentrated purely upon the the neighsian mercenary before him. From all of the information that he had gathered due to the banter between the children and Raze, not only had he taken Rosalia against her will, but he had also turned his hooves against these children as well, using brute force to cause destruction of property. From what the rough and grizzled minotaur could gather, this led him to one conclusion. And even if he was incorrect in piecing together all of the evidence that had been spewed forth, there was no excuse for forcing a child who was unable to defend herself into cooperating against her own will.

The two that had followed along were obviously those who meant Rosalia well. And within the confines of his mind, Lorec had nothing but praise for them. There were not many who would stand up to an armed kidnapper at their respective ages. This in turn either meant that Rosalia was a companion of both Double Play's and Jack's, or that the mercenary meant ill will towards her. However, judging from Double's exposition, they were only recently acquainted. For Lorec, this meant only one thing, when coupled with the fact that Raze was now desperately trying to pay off a debt brought on by destruction of property. He wanted to intimidate both of them, so neither would follow. And not only that, Rosalia admitted to having been foalnapped against her will, but was trying to convince Lorec that Raze was not indulging this action with criminal intent. Perhaps, he had threatened her to ensure that she would keep somewhat silent upon the matter.

Lorec had judged Raze according to all of these factors. And now, it was time to play the role of potential executioner, if his own demands were not met. Reaching over his shoulder, Lorec gripped the pommel of his zweihander, and drew it out of the sheathe. The ringing of blade sliding against tanned leather playing prelude to the potential battle to come. The blade itself had seen better days, with the sword having been shattered at about two-fifths of the steel's length. This would not prove a hindrance, much to Raze's dismay, as what remained of the grand armament was still much larger than any normal pony could hope to wield effectively. Lorec pointed the sword towards the mercenary, and scoffed at him. " Normally, I wouldn't waste my time with the likes of a filly fooler. But seeing as I most likely just caught you in the act, I'll make an exception."

He took a step closer, not blinking at the mercenary, not giving him an inch. " You're going to let all three of those fledglings go, and my daughter is going along with them, because there is no way in hell I'm leaving you with an underage soul. And then... We're going to have a nice little chat about your preferences. "

Through the dizziness, Raze heard the Minotaur mock and threaten him, calling him a filly fooler. No matter how he tried to spin it, yes, he looked like one. Even if he wasn't his irrational thinking put him in this predicament.

But still, that filly in the hospital gown was too much of a valued target for him. She could very well be the key to getting rid of the baroness once and for all, or at the very least cripple her to the point where they could come up with a way to get rid of her. The only thing standing in his way now was the Minotaur in front of him, and as much as he would like to oblige to his demands, he couldn't do it. Not only that, but... he hated being called a filly fooler. Mustering the energy to stand up, he tried to shake off the dizziness as much as possible. It was still there, but he had to ignore it.

"You can take the two boneheads over there, I don't care what happens to them," he said to the Minotaur. "Quite frankly, I think they're imbeciles who try too hard to play hero and impress everyone with how 'cool' they are," he said. "But this one over here..." he motioned to Rosalia. "She's too important to let go... sorry, old man, but I'm gonna have to decline your offer. And let me make one thing clear..."

He grabbed his katana and assumed a combat stance, with a look of rage in his eyes.

"I AM NOT A FILLY FOOLER!!!" he shouted. "I tried being reasonable, even told you why I started this whole shenanigan in the first place and admitted I was wrong in doing so, and yet you still somehow manage to draw the conclusion that I'm some sort of sicko!"

He grit his teeth in anger. "Listen. To the words. That are coming out. Of my mouth. You bumbling, roided up, mutant cow!!" he had to find different words to use before the Minotaur called him out on swearing in front of children as well. "I. Am not. A sicko!! And if I have to beat that fact into that thick tiny head of yours, then by Celestia I'll do it..."

He picked up his summoning gun (he needed to find a better name for it) and held it in one hoof, while he unsheathed his katana with the other.

Rosalia started backing up as soon as the swords were drawn. Maybe this alleyway had other paths that she could use to escape the almost definitely escalating system. However, those hopes were dashed upon her rump bumping into the back wall and, after a fervored glance around, she realized there were no exits; it was a dead end that was blocked by both the minotaur and Raze. She wasn't sure who to trust more of the pair- the minotaur was obviously trying to do good, but the warrior was apparently friends with Agriron...

Either way, they were about to engage in combat with each other in a narrow alleyway- that she had no choice but to be in the middle of due to the insistence of Raze on his... claim. As soon as she used that word, she wished she hadn't. It was quite... dehumanizing. But that's why anyone wanted to talk to her, right? Because she was weak, and clumsy, and because of her... condition. It wasn't even really a power.

She quietly whimpered as her form began to redden from a white to a pink, attempting to make herself as small as possible in the back of the alleyway and prepared to take it to drastic measures to escape if she had to.

Tinker sighed in relief once he finally arrived at the town near the Bangcolt Arena. Not the one for long rides, he wasn't really fond of the trip, despite the quality of the train. The unicorn dragged his luggage along with his magic, heading to an inn.

After having dealt with renting a place to stay and sorting out the rest of his belongings in his apartment, he headed out to the town to explore. "Hm... This shop might provide me with what I need to repair and perhaps upgrade my wings..." He thought to himself, opening the door with magic as he walked inside. He was also wearing his wings along with saddlebags. "Hello?" He called out, hoping to meet the owner of the shop.

Oh, I'm going to enjoy this... he thought, returning the mocking grin. They think me to be dumb... good.

He analyzed the weapons of each opponent. A broken zweihander, and a bat with a silver baseball. The Minotaur's weapon couldn't be parried with his katana; even if it was broken, the weight combined with the fact that his sword was made with a much more brittle metal than that of a zweihander's would cause the sword to snap in two if hit hard enough. However, with the sword being somewhat slow to swing, he could easily dodge it. Perhaps Thanatos might be able to parry it, perhaps being the key word to that theory.

As for the bat, this was a blunt weapon that could hit hard and relatively fast. On top of that, the kid had a metal ball that he could use as a projectile. He has both close and ranged combat covered. Raze thought he might open up with using the ball, so he had to prepare for that. He might have more balls on him as well, in case that one missed. As for the bat, he could parry it easily.

Now, for his opponents. The miotaur seemed to be a durable fighter, with the ability to charge at someone with brutal speed and power. Not only that, but he had the ability to manipulate the ground around him and create walls, an excellent defensive ability. He would have to keep an eye out for that. He couldn't make out any sort of obvious weaknesses (something he would expect when trying to analyze an experienced fighter), but he would figure something out.

As for the kids, they seemed to be ponies who had excellent athletic ability, and know how to swing a mean bat. However, they seem overconfident of their abilities, cocky even. Maybe that wasn't the case, but it sure as hell seemed like it was. Nevertheless, Raze would keep his guard up.

The stage was set, and his analysis on his opponents was, for the most part, complete. He exhaled and grinned mockingly once again.

"Go on, then!" he said to all of them, assuming a low stance. "Show me what you can do."

Hopefully, those ropes weren't needed for anything important.

He frowned further, as he took time to relay the news. Anything that could change a mood like Naga's usual attitude was sure to be quite the reality check.

A cold, icy feeling had started to build in his spine, as he wondered just how terrible the news might be, before the monk finally relayed his info. At first, confusion started to build, before realization hit.

"Oh--him?!" He took a step back, looking slightly puzzled, trying to recall details on the Stormbringer. "Yeah, yeah, I remember...He's coming to Equestria--to Bangcolt? For me?"

First, the objective here was not to partake in the addictive pleasures that a high brought on by battle could provide. Rather, this was all for the sake of the child that Raze had decidedly abducted for his own selfish, and perchance morally abhorrent reasons. Secondly, his own child was involved, and if he could do anything to keep her out of harm's way, he would. Thirdly... Lorec held absolutely little to no respect for this mercenary. From the onset, Lorec did not even consider Raze as worthy to be excrement wiped away from his hooves. And why should he? A gun for hire, assaulting children and trying to buy them off, using some macabre creature as a cover due to a lack of confidence, training, or both, along with his aforementioned barbarisms? In his mind, the pony that stood before him was akin to a mosquito; A pestilent burden upon the world that only leeched away from all others and offered disease as its only repayment. For these reasons, Lorec dared not to exploit the full extent of chaos that he knew he could cause.

With his decision ringing final, Lorec would set his battle plan into motion. Relying on his native tongue of Tauric, he hoped that Raze was not a well-learned fellow when it came to foreign languages. Keeping eyes and broken sword trained on Raze, Lorec had positioned himself in such a way that Sifana was completely obscured from his vision. Even though they were orders in another dialect, Lorec spoke in a tone that indicated both condescension and spite, as he allowed a slow grin to creep along his face. It was his hope that Raze would interpret this as being insulted in Tauric, wanting to divert his attention towards himself.  " Sifana, Verschiebst Du der anderen Seite auf der Gasse. Retten Sie das Mädchen. "

Sifana, clever enough to know when she should stay quiet and go along with orders as per hunting trips with her beloved father, acted accordingly. She was careful enough to keep her steps slow and deliberate while keeping herself blocked from Raze's view by way of her father's immensity.

All the while, Lorec's expression had begun its metamorphosis. What was a scowl of disapproval had turned into a devious glare of excitement, as though he were looking at his next meal, and not someone that he was about to fight. This was the opening act to his grand scheme. Seeing as how negatively Raze had reacted to his remarks and how prone he was to offer a verbal rebuttal against the Sadaurian, Lorec had guessed that the mercenary was easily antagonized with merely words alone. This, in turn, meant that Lorec could stall him with a potential mind game, long enough for Sifana to get the filly, and escape with the others. Dropping his sword temporarily, he chuckled at the wayward stallion. " So, boy... Though I'm not quite sure you even have the stones to be called that... From the looks of you, you're a merc. So tell me this; Have you ever even cut another soul down with that pig iron of yours? Or is it all for show, much like that creature you hide behind? Seriously kid, give me a death toll. "

To get on with some things after having been held up, J.R. and I have decided upon skipping some events regarding a dinner between two of our characters. XD

Kazas did not gorge himself during his meal, but had consumed enough to keep himself upon his legs and take some leftovers home with himself. Needless to say, the dinner had been extravagant, and worth ever bit that paid for it, though costly it had been. Eager to proceed with tonight, Kazas left the restaurant, staying at her side. Kazas said nothing as they would be leaving, content to with silence between them, unless Vera wished to spark a conversation.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

@@P-Jay,

Luster began to focus on ripping each rope from it's mooring.  When the collapsed mast was now unfettered, Luster tied those loose ropes to herself. Once she turned the rigging to a makeshift harness, she kicked on her thrusts and rocketed up, carrying her makeshift cargo into the air. Higher and higher she would go.

In about a minute and a half, she was now at 30,000 feet. She looked down, zooming in on the ship below. "The anchor had been set, so it wouldn't be going anywhere. Only one way to go." she shut off her thrusters, and fell with her mast. Faster and faster they would go, terminal velocity of 122 mph being reached in 15 seconds. 75 seconds left.

"Not good enough." She kicked her thrusters back on and charged straight down. 75 seconds was cut down to 25. At 500 mph, the speed of a commercial airliner, she dived. Firing a stabilizer and adjusting a wing, she put spin on her mast. 10 seconds, she let go and parted ways with her newfound implement. She spread her wings and and arched back up over the water, encircling the ship.

5 seconds till Luster's makeshift massive stake impacted the ship. Four. Three. Two-

Raze grinned devilishly back at him, but remained silent.

Don't let his words get to you... It's all just a trick. he thought.

"If you think that will distract me from what's going to happen, you're dead wrong," he said his face turning serious. "Enough words; either you pick your sword up and fight or let me take the filly to Agririon."

@@Unicorncob, @, @, @,

Jack had already configurated a plan in his head. The street lamp above them would provide the perfect cover... "Good idea, Dubs. Follow my lead." As soon as he saw Sifana slowly making her escape, Jack followed suit and started slinking off, hoping for Double to follow while Lorec dealt with Raze.
