gaming Twilight Princess HD Remaster?

An excellent trailer and it would be amazing if they did that too, however there is one problem...

We don't know if that trailer was made using Wii U hardware. So we don't even know if the Wii U is capable of that.

Whether or not it can run on the Wii U is irrelevant to my point, silly. I was demonstrating what I imagine a re-imagine would be like.

We all do, but I think you become more hyper critical if the OST is not remade.

I think the point I am trying to make is for a brief few seconds: pretend the OST isn't even a factor for either of the games. Pretend KH1.5 and OoT don't even have OSTs for a minute. Which one do you think had more work put into it? Which one is TRULY deserving of more credit?

It's not even a fair comparison... OOT3D is a remake. KHI.5 is a remaster.

Either way, KHI.5 will always win for me. OOT3D was a massive waste of my money. More work may have technically been put into the game, but the game looked like nothing more than the original with new textures and a new model here and there, and the game played and felt exactly the same as the original. It was a real chore to even play through that game.

KHI.5 is a remaster. I knew what I was getting when I bought it. Plus, once again, it's a bundle.

See? You're not going to get anywhere with me.

It would be really cool. I remember seeing that and getting sad that it was fake.

Clearly not.

I agree to disagree at this point.

I love Twilight Princess.

I just need to convince myself to buy a WiiU.

Honestly... For what the system is... It needs to be like... $200 or $150. The fact that it does not come with everything you need to maximize enjoyment should dictate a lower price.

I would actually buy it if it came for the Wii because I love Twilight Princess! It was my favorite Zelda game before I played Wind Waker. Also Zant is best character!

'Bout damn time they announced a new Direct

Now to wait for two days while everyone overhypes it and disappoints themselves

Though I'll be surprised if they didn't announce TPHD here

Still, hopefully Nintendo has something more exciting than an HD remaster of Twilight Princess... As long as it's taken them (although I understand that Iwata's death surely had a lot to do with this wait, and I'm understanding), they need to have something exciting.

After E3, I'm not sure they understand what exciting even is, though. *sigh*

I have another bone to pick with them:

Fatal Frame 5 was probably one of the only mature titles that I was excited about and they botched it up by not doing a physical copy in the US (and they released a physical in Europe and Australia, but only as a limited edition.) This is a fucking 10GB game! On a system that only has 32GB of storage! Not to mention digital releases don't get as much advertising or sales as physical copies. Which this was basically the ONE mature title you had for the older players and you purposely pushed it to the side and gave it a relatively silent (and nonsensical) release. It's like after all that talk about wanting the hardcore gamers back, Nintendo is still afraid of that little M rating. I get it Nintendo, family, family, family, but the kids eventually go to bed and I want something to play!

At this point I am losing more and more faith in them to deliver something intelligently.

Well, 'mature' titles do not interest me in the least, and I figure people who want those 'mature' titles are typically going more for Sony, Microsoft, and PC systems at this point.

The storage issue is certainly something that Nintendo needs to address, though.

It bothers me because that originally was a Sony franchise. A lot of us have been dying to get the new game and many people only bought a Wii U to get that one game. So people on a budget probably got the 8GB Wii U to buy it, and now you're telling them that they need a hard drive now just to play one game?

I dunno, I liked TP, but it's not the first Zelda I wanna replay over and over due to being so slow in too many places, and while the environment was big and beautiful, it also feels so empty. I think I'm gonna pass on this one

I think it actually is the first Zelda to replay for me! The last time I played through it was 2009. That felt really recent until I looked at the calendar and another six years have already passed by. o.o

You're scaring me, time... Slow down!

Anyway, it actually is necessary to have an HD remaster for me to play it again, since the Wii U makes Wii games look terrible.

For the first few years after Twilight Princess came out, I absolutely loved it, and I even considered it my favorite Zelda game. But recently, when I tried to play it again, I got bored and gave up part way through.

So, if they are doing a TP remaster, I'll probably pass on it. I'll wait until Zelda U comes out before I think about buying a Wii U, and hopefully the price will have dropped by then.

Wouldn't this be the first Wii game remade for the Wii U though?

*remastered ;P

Well, Twilight Princess is essentially a GCN title, and it's been out for almost 10 years, which was about the point that The Wind Waker HD was released in relation to its original GCN release, so I don't see why it would be such a big deal.

My point is how can we know that remastered/remade (which we haven't gotten a confirmation of which this is yet) Wii games look terrible on the Wii U when we haven't had one yet? Windwaker HD while some didn't like it, it was a totally different graphics style. Some styles are hard to make look better in HD. But TP has a more detailed style that can be upped with higher res textures, etc.

We don't really need that kind of confirmation. We already have The Wind Waker HD, and besides there's no way they'll actually remake it either way.

Otherwise, I really don't even understand what you're saying... My post was saying that playing Twilight Princess on the Wii U, like any other Wii game, makes it look terrible. Of course, that would be eliminated with an HD remaster, otherwise it would destroy the point of their ever being an HD remaster. lol

I'd rather not assume until more information pops up.

Ah I see now, I was confused by your wording.

Anyways, maybe we'll get some news on what's going on with this, or even if this is a real thing soon. Nintendo doesn't do remakes of their Zelda games very often, so I expect improvements over time. While we have only had technically 3, that should be viewed as they have 3 games worth of experience under them to pump out higher quality games. However given the limitations of the Wii U, it'll be a challenge...

See, it's a remaster.

But it does come with the OST if we pre-order. So I'll officially be getting it.

Just gonna leave this here

Not surprised there wasn't as big of a jump compared to WW honestly. I think Nintendo themselves said they chose WW first because it benefited the most from an HD update

Well, I guess I have to pre-order it, just for the OST.

I do find it funny because if my memory serves me properly, the original Twilight Princess was the last game I pre-ordered.
