My OC is inspired by my username, my appearance, and my interests. I went for a show accurate style. It's the first time I have sketched my own character. I had some trouble drawing the legs but I manage to fix them. Also the Cutie Mark is above.

Your character looks good and it definitely has a very unique cutie mark. The colors though don't seem to fit this character. IDK with ponies who do work with plants or any work that requires them to get a little dirty I just can't see them having a white colored coat or the Vinyl Scratch colored hair. Love the eyes though. I think you should try more earthy tones for the flank and making the hair a darker color. Keep the eyes though it will help draw attention to the face.

My idea behind the characters color is that he spends most of his time underground exploring for rare Mushrooms. So the white color represents the lack of sunlight he gets. I do see your point about the color scheme being darker from working with plants. I was afraid of having a generic color scheme so I went with a neutral white color. Thanks for your input!

You're welcome. By the way since a ponies flank is essentially fur it dose not become lighter the less time he spends in the sun in fact it's the exact opposite. The sun actually lightens hair using a pigment called Melanin.  We have it in our hair and skin but it has different effects on both. Our skin becomes darkened when we spend time in the sun and our hair becomes brighter. So if your pony spent a lot of time underground spending very little time in the sun his flank would actually be darker.

Color scheme reminds me a bit much of Vinyl Scratch. I suggest changing up the eye color/mane color!
Maybe a green/blue color scheme? I haven't seen many OC's with forest greens with dark blues. That might look nice!

This is were science and fiction come in conflict. Trying to apply science to a magical talking pastel pony is a silly thing to do. I do see your point I will defiantly try a different combinations of colors for him thanks again.
