[SPOILER!] Princess Cadence

Recommended Posts

When watching the first part of "Royal Wedding" I noticed that in Twilight's flashback, Cadence's horn was glowing blue whenever she performed magic.

But that is was glowing green whenever Queen Chrysalis performed magic while being disguised as Cadence.

That slightly gave it away that she was an imposter. Not that I have anything against it.

Anyone else noticed that?

Hey, cartoons always do this kinda stuff, and I must admit, this was a pretty subtle give away and once again must compliment the mlp staff for making this show a whole lot more intresting.

I mean, better than the classic glowing red eyes, right?

I agree.

Cartoons and video games always put these things in as a little 'easter egg' to show that she is an imposter.

I'm just glad that the creators actually took time to make little 'details' like this. But alas!- I didn't notice this :(

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

I love the little giveaways as well. Yet Queen Chrysalis caught me by surprise!

Simply loved the twists in the episodes~

I hate it when they make it too easy, but the creators of mlp never cease to amaze me.

They always let you try find it for yourself, but never make it easy.

That's one of the reasons I have higher regard of this show rather than others.

Yes there are little clues such as this throughout the series, one other example that comes to mind is where in Sisterhooves Social the "Applejack" in the races has blue eyes, which is a very very subtle giveaway (I noticed in a rewatch).

I noticed that too. When I saw it in the synchtube chat, I joked that the fake Cadence was actually one of the Flim Flam Brothers in disguise.

It seems acid-green magic is a sign that somepony is evil Or at least is a jerk.

I was in there as well and saw you joke about it!

Was quite hilarious I must say.

Came in to say this by Whiteshade beat me to it

I think (real) Cadence's glow should have been pink or lavender to go with her color scheme.

Up until Part 2 I just thought Cadence became a jerk. However, I was expecting some sort of transformation when Cadence told Twilight in the cave that fake Cadence was an impostor. Stuff like a cutie mark couldn't have have been faked so easily.

I just figured she was a b****, I didn't actually think she was an imposter lol. i didn't notice her horn glowed a different color, that's actually really clever of the animators.

Impostors aside, was there any indication in the show that a unicorn's/alicorn's horn glows different colors as he/she gets older OR develops their magic?

That being said, I didn't notice young Cadence's horn glowing blue instead of the green we saw in the Impostor. Then again I don't usually catch these as I'm more focused on the plot itself rather than small details (although, I end up taking the small details and try to come up with theories based on them :P ).

Nice find! I actually did find it rather odd that her magic didn't match her color scheme, but didn't really make anything of it.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

Her blue glow matches her cutie mark... that blue heart gem. I thought it went well with her color scheme, considering blue is really pretty with all those shades of purple/pink.

Pinkie Pie is my favoritest of the mane six for several reasons, but most importantly because she always has a good attitude. The others can doubt her, say somewhat unkind things, not believe her, and she just rolls with it. I also love her because her self-defined purpose in life is to make others happy. I believe her balloons cutie mark actually represents her uplifting others. Her amazing dimension bending and psychic powers are a factor, too :) When poor Pinkie Pie looses her mind, well, it is quite humorous. She has her own depression demons to fight, yet focuses on others. The world will be a better place when she succeeds in breaking that 4th wall! >:D

Now that I look at it, that does make more sense.

I noticed that, too! I just finished watching the episodes about an hour ago and was coming here to post about that, but it looks like I'm not the only one who noticed.

best part is, I noticed BEFORE finishing the episode and I was all "wait a second, wasn't her magic blue? I smell something fishy..."

I love it when they pay attention to details. B)
