Desire to see a Blind Pony in MLP FIM

The following is a Desire/Idea for MLP FIM

I recently thought about this, and was wondering if there would ever be a possibility of having a Blind Pony added into MLP FIM as either a background character or as the focus of an episode

(Not like Snowdrop who was born blind, but a pony who lost their eyesight due to a condition over time and had to adjust *kind of like my OC*) 

It would be nice to see something like this in the show before I lose the ability to see it

I considered looking into Contacting Hasbro about it but wouldn't even know where to start, what do you think? any possibility for this in the show?

i don't think they will out of concerns they'll get it wrong and end up offending some people. After all they gave derpy wonky vision and a speech impediment and look out that turned out... (got sorted eventually! go derpy XD)

Well, maybe have a situation where the protagonists have to help out said blind pony, Or have a situation where they meet and learn about a blind pony and the difficulties they have to face in daily life...

 

it would just have been nice to see something like this before I loose the ability to watch the show x3

If they did have a blind pony they would just have it with dark tinted glasses and a walking cane.. and/or perhaps a guide dog?

They could possibly be seen by a busy street, so of any place, a city (perhaps Manehattan?) would be the most likely place of seeing such a pony..

They could also have said pony with their eyes covered, that's how I portray my OC, Not all blind people wear dark glasses, I do have to walk with a guide cane (as I've lost 95% of my vision) but I don't wear dark glasses x3

I asked Tyandaga (an MLP reviewer) if he knew a way I could contact Hasbro about it, and he said that he doesn't think the production staff (those who write/produce the show) are allowed to actually interact directly with fans via Email :c

I didn't say I wanted a character to become blind, More like, see a pony in the show who became bind due to a condition over time and had to adjust to their sight loss (basically like I am having to do)

Yes. But with Rarity's line of work it'd be really drastic if she ended up going blind. I think it'd be the most dramatic outcome.

They're not. In fact they staff are supposed to ignore fanwork completely.

I'm sure they see some of it anyway, but they are supposed to avoid it. They can get into legal trouble if it looks like they took an idea from a fan. Therefore they won't take ideas via fanmail either.

That would be nice.  I think if they planned it out then they could do it and do it well.  They really just need to avoid making the pony the butt of a joke because they are blind and avoid stupid names.  I think Avatar: The Last Airbender did it well.  I think I remember exactly one joke about Toph being blind, and she was the one that made it and it was actually funny.

Just so i'm clear:

You want to see a blind character because your OC is blind? Or, you want to see a blind character just because you think it should be explored?

 

Also, why make the words "Blind Pony" and "Desire/Idea" capitalized? 

Those are not proper nouns 

 

Because I think it should be addressed... Believe it or not I am actually 95% blind in real life, if you need proof I'll show you the letter. Habsro used Derpy to show disablities, but why have they never shown a physical disability such as blindness which can gravely effect your life (apart from the guy who appeared thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation)

 

I capitalize things a lot, its a problem I've always had okay.. :c

Aside from that... disabled characters usually ted to be just for laughs... I just thought it would be nice to have a serious character for once who has a disability such as blindness (as I never really see blindness being seen as a serious thing in the media, it's mostly used to be made fun of in shows which I really don't approve of :c )

I was never going to ask for proof of your blindness.

 

And okay, I understand. A lot of other fans want to see disabilities explored in the show as well.

 

It would just be nice to see a blind pony before I can't see any more. perhaps I should have just kept this to myself rather than posting about it here :c

hasbro has a policy against taking show ideas from fans so I doubt they would listen
