That's right everybody, it's that time again...

 

...for another MLP Forums Drawing Contest!!

What is this about?

The MLP Forums Drawing Contest is a monthly event in which users of this website gather and have a friendly competition to see who is the most skilled artist.

 

One of the main reasons we created this idea in the first place is because the brony community is best known for both their creativity and dedication to draw out many unique ideas regarding MLP:FiM. Not only do they show such passion to their artwork, but with so many fans who love to participate in fandom events, MLP Forums has thought that it would be fantastic to combine the two and create something that could bring our fellow artists together and closer!

 

If you’ve always wanted to showcase your artwork or participate in more fandom events, then this contest is for you!

 

 

How do I enter?

• To enter the contest, simply send an email to art.contest@mlpforums.com.
• Make sure your email is titled “MLP Forums Drawing Contest December 2015”.
• Please also keep in mind to include your username within your email. If you change your username during the contest, please send us a follow up so that we can know exactly who you are.
• Please also be sure to provide two or more work-in-progress photos of your final entry. When you provide the photos, it'll mean that'll ensure the team that your artwork isn't stolen or traced.

 

 

What is the theme?

For this month, you have to draw an illustration depicting ponies in a Christmas setting! Whether it be ponies singing carols, receiving fun presents on a wintery morning or a Santa Claus pony, the sky's the limit as what you want to do with the theme! Or alternatively, you can also do something relating to Making Christmas Merrier, an annual even on MLP Forums that is still ongoing. For more details, check it out here!

 

However, the Global Community Rules still apply to this contest, so as such, NSFW content is prohibited.

 

Do also keep in mind the following:

• Your entry must be an original new piece and not contain any traced vectors/stolen artwork/etc..
• Both traditional and digital artwork are accepted and judged equally.
• The format must be in either .png or .jpg. Your entry may not be accepted otherwise.

 

 

When will the contest end?

The contest will wrap up on December 19th along with Making Christmas Merrier.

• Please submit your entries by 12:00a.m. GMT+1!
• Please submit your entries by EDT: 6:00p.m.!
• Please submit your entries by AEST: 8:00a.m.!

 

 

What will my art be judged by?

The art you submit to this month’s drawing contest will be based on your technical skill, your creativity and your design.

• Technical skills deal with the anatomy, proportions, posture, perspective and colours of a drawing.
• Creativity is about how well you can handle with the initial theme.
• Design is about how interesting the overall image looks.

 

 

Do I get any prizes?

You most certainly do! Our top three winners will all receive unique prizes from our trusty MLP Forums team. The prizes go as follows…

 

3rd place: The piece you’ve entered will be showcased in the Poniverse Newsletter. Be sure to check it out if you win!​

 

2nd place: Your choice of 1000 DeviantArt points or a $15.00 MLP Forums Commission Voucher. The team will send you a PM to let you know what you want!
