The mare's ears lowered as they were filled with a high pitch noise.

"Ooowww, somepony stop it! I don't care who did it, just stop it!"

 

She then shielded her eyes with her leg as the blinding blue light appeared. "STOP WITH THE HURTING MY SENSES!!"

 

She shook her head, giving a sigh of mixed relief and exasperation as her vision and hearing returned.

"Does anypony know what happened...or where Red went?"

Specter had taken it upon himself to take a look around the area near the gate room. He was mainly looking for a main terminal connection which he could access and learn more about his surroundings. With the motion giving away that this was a ship and the age of the tech in relation to his own age, gave him some indication of what ship this could be. Plus the presence of a gate narrowed down his search to an even smaller number of possible ships. At one point he would be able to identify this ship instantly, but because he couldn't, his presumption was that their was a reason for this data to be in his now corrupted Classified files. "Need an access port. Main terminal. Access connection. Repair data. Hmm. Main control room may have answers. Maybe this ship has an AI. That would be handy. If it still lives."

Scarlett stood at the, observation deck? That's what it was. Probably. Makes sense really. Big room with giant window. Scarlett stood at the front of the observation deck looking out into the vastness of space before her. It was then that she realised how far away she was. The stars, they weren't just in the wrong place. They were the wrong stars. They had gone much further than their own galaxy, or the Pegasus galaxy for that matter. Where the hell were they.

"Cool name. Think I already told you this, but just in case you forgot,  I go by Flamestreak but you can call me Flame if it's easier. And sorry about earlier. I shouldn't have been prying into your business like that. I was very curious and I'm also pretty good at detecting lies." Flame smile neriously tip-toeing away from Amber slowly to address the pony who came up to him.

"good now stand still while I focus, then I'll have to find Scarlett she has run off." Sapphire's horn again glowed as she again tried to fix the problem with this pony hoping for the same success she had just had with Amber. As her horn kept glowing "is this helping you at all?"

The mare took a look around the room, and noticed how Amber and Flamestreak had shared names. Funny how nopony had asked hers yet.

Though, she liked it. She liked being the mysterious black-armoured mare. The one who could turn invisible at will. Yeah, she was cool with that.

 

Albeit getting bored.

 

"Well, you guys have fun being you," she said to nopony in particular while walking to the door, "I'ma find our boss."

 

She started walking through the hall, looking around. "Yo, Red! Where you at, girl?"

Scarlett heard calling from out in the halls. Recognising a nickname from a long time ago, technically, she turned and walked to the door poking her head out "I'm in here"

 

She walked back inside, and sat on the bench near the window. Taking note of the sheer length of the ship that she could see from here, she could tell it was a large ship. Who knew how big the ship was behind or to the sides, though to be honest they were probably near the back. Classic Ancient design.

The mare heard Scarlett's responce and trotted her way, entering the room with her.

 

"Here you a-- damn, check out this view," she muttered, walking up toward the large window peering into space, "We're in a spaceship, huh."

 

And then, the realisation of how cool this situation was dawned on her, and she turned to Scarlett, grinning under her helmet.

"It's a spaceship, Red!"

Amber tried her best to back out of the crowds, knocking against a bulkhead behind her. A deep sigh escaped her lips and before anypony noticed, she swiftly exited the room; well, as swiftly as she could with a leg still in the middle of being repaired. She took a small gander down the ships corridors, her mind whirring as it tried to process all that had conspired. 

 

So, is it a spaceship or...? She chewed on the thought as she continued trotting onwards. Her question was quite suddenly answered when she entered on to a larger hall that was much more expansive than the previous ones she'd seen. On one side of the hall lay various doors in different states of repair, some of which broken down and destroyed while others remained sealed tight. However the other side featured a vast window that seemed to last the length of the corridor. Outside, all Amber could see was stars and the unlimited expanse of space before her.

 

"Wow." Amber silently mouthed to herself, as the stars seemed to twinkle in her eyes. She couldn't help but soak in every detail of the picture before her. It all seemed so...peaceful, so serene. "Oh Dad, if only you could see this."

 

She sat herself down slowly and smiled out the window, blissfully contemplating what might be out there waiting for them.

The mare heard Scarlett's responce and trotted her way, entering the room with her.

 

"Here you a-- damn, check out this view," she muttered, walking up toward the large window peering into space, "We're in a spaceship, huh."

 

And then, the realisation of how cool this situation was dawned on her, and she turned to Scarlett, grinning under her helmet.

"It's a spaceship, Red!"

 

Scarlett smiled at the armoured pony "Yes it is my fellow solar adventurer. Look at the stars though. A normal pony would not notice anything different from what we usually see. Someone more astronomically inclined would notice that the stars are not the same as back home. But me, I saw something. Look out there, do you see anything similar to back home? No? Well you'd be right. We're not even in the game galaxy. We're not in the Pegasus galaxy either. We're outside both of the two galaxies that we as ponies have ever been to."

 

She stood up "Anyway, not to seem rude, but who are you?"

"Wait, we're in another galaxy?" The mare repeated, looking closer through the window, "Could we ever get back...?"

 

She perked up at hearing somepony finally asking her her name. "I was beginning to think I'd stay the mysterious cloaked pony forever!"

 

Figuring it'd be safe to show her face, she unhooked her suit's helmet and lifted it off, revealing an amber coated mare with bright blue eyes, and a mane of fiery red and yellow, curled just above the shoulders.

"Phew, that thing was getting hot," she sighed, her voice fully distinguishable now, "Anyway, I'm Solar Dust."

Amber was more than surprised to find herself back in the large group of ponies again. She could have sworn she'd been walking in the opposite direction, and yet it seemed like the corridors had all come full circle. She blinked a few times, taking everything in before deciding to just take another path. She hated the big crowds, especially in such a panicked state. So, with her head hung low, she passed through one of the already open doorways.

 

It wasn't long before she reached a massive room, with views of space from all angles. Yet again, Amber found herself staring into the galaxy in wonder, with a gleeful smile on her face. In the room itself, she identified two ponies in there with her but before she made her retreat to a more isolated area, she took note that it was just Scarlett and the armoured pegasus. Although....wait, where's her helmet?

 

Amber gasped when she was finally able to look upon the pony in more detail, the identity of the stranger finally revealed to her.

 

She slowly approached the duo and coughed loudly to try and get their attention.

 

"Scarlett." She nodded her head in greetings with a smile, before turning her attention to the pegasus. "So this is my heroine? Well, nice to properly meet you. My flank would have been cooked if you hadn't been able to get me back to the stargate room in one piece."

"Wait, we're in another galaxy?" The mare repeated, looking closer through the window, "Could we ever get back...?"

 

She perked up at hearing somepony finally asking her her name. "I was beginning to think I'd stay the mysterious cloaked pony forever!"

"I know, not expected me to be a mare, huh?" She smirked, then nodded to her, "It was no biggie, wouldn't feel right if I left you back there."

Solar turned and saw Amber, grinning at her thanks. "I know, not expected me to be a mare, huh?" She smirked, then nodded to her, "It was no biggie, wouldn't feel right if I left you back there."

 

"I know, but still..." Amber paused, bowing her head in shame. "I was so hostile to you, you didn't even know me, I didn't know you...but you still helped me. I, uh, yeah- I'm sorry about all that." Her smile slowly grew back and she gave the pegasus a quick hug. "But you're alright in my book for sure."

 

 

 

"It gets hot as hell, I'll tell you that," She joked to Amber, then started waving a hoof on her face, "Phew...you girls mind if I take this suit off? Heat's killing me."

 

"Sure thing, no reason for you to keep it on." Amber shrugged, stepping away from them momentarily to have a look around the room.

Solar turned and saw Amber, grinning at her thanks.

"Weird, you must have one of the original models. The, relatively, newer ones had cooling systems." Scarlett quickly searched with her magic for the internal release switch of the suit, and pulled it. "There you go" she said as she levitated the suit off the pony. "Are you wondering how I did that? Anyway, would you too like to accompany on a trip to find an engineering room? We are on a spaceship, but we have no idea where the ship is. And the life support system is already failing."

Solar breathed a sigh of relief as a refreshing cold washed over her when her suit was deactivated. Her slender, amber body was in perfect view now, along with her cutie mark of a pair of unlocked hoofcuffs set ablaze.

 

"Oooh, Celestia, that feels good," she purred, shaking herself off a bit, "Thanks! ...wait, the life support is what?" Her grin turned into a look of pure horror, followed by exasperation. "Dammit, universe, you had one job."

 

She then looked at Amber and shrugged. "Sure, I'll come with. Not much else to do around here. Apart from slowly die, apparently."

"Yeah, I'm up for a bit of exploration. Anything to get away from the crowds." Amber shuddered a little but continued smiling anyway. "Perhaps we might find some way to sort out life support along the way." She shrugged at the two of them while constantly fiddling with her uniform. It was starting to become a nervous habit for her.

She then looked at Amber and shrugged. "Sure, I'll come with. Not much else to do around here. Apart from slowly die, apparently."

 

"Well if you come with me, hopefully we can find the cause of this and fix it."

 

 

"Yeah, I'm up for a bit of exploration. Anything to get away from the crowds." Amber shuddered a little but continued smiling anyway. "Perhaps we might find some way to sort out life support along the way." She shrugged at the two of them while constantly fiddling with her uniform. It was starting to become a nervous habit for her.

 

"When I say life support, know that I basically just mean the air. Gravity and pressure seems to be fine."

 

The entire ship then lurched a little as the whining sound came back as well as the blue light. Looking out again you could see the ship accelerating beyond the speed of light. "And, we're back in FTL. Lovely. We need to find the engineering room soon, or we're going to be out of air. I can already feel the air getting a little thin. Or maybe that's just because we just accelerated faster than light itself."

"Well there's no reason to hang about." Amber shivered. "You might be concerned with the air getting thin, but all I feel is damn cold. I wouldn't mind trying to find something a little warmer." She looked about the room, seeing if there was any obviously discernible way to something like Engineering. However, there was nothing she could easily make out.

"Well I'd offer you my suit, if you like," Solar grinned, having the folded up suit neatly tucked into a bag beneath her wing, "Should still be warm from my assing about in it all day."

 

She then looked at Amber, and then something hit her. Her suit was one of a kind, and Scarlett knew how it worked.

 

She shot the red unicorn a curious look, as if mentally asking her the question.

"Well I'd offer you my suit, if you like," Solar grinned, having the folded up suit neatly tucked into a bag beneath her wing, "Should still be warm from my assing about in it all day."

 

"Wha- no!" Amber squeaked quickly. Blushing, she re-asserted herself and cleared her throat. "I mean, no thank you. While I'd love to and stuff...would seem kinda weird." She smiled sheepishly. "I'm sure a ship this size might have SOMETHING I can wear...hopefully."

Scarlett sniggered a little when Solar said 'Suit yourself', mistaking it for a pun. Even if it wasn't a pun, it was kinda funny.

 

 

Still curious as to how Scarlett knew how her suit worked, she cleared her throat. "Ahem, so I'm sure you're curious about my suit...?"

 

"Oh that old think? I practically built it! Well I actually designed it and built the first so I didn't really build the rest... But I definitely designed it! The heat was really a problem on that suit, it doesn't even have ventilation! What was I thinking..."
